Englewood Sports & Medical Massage

I’ve lived for years in chronic pain, and I’m guessing if you’re reading this you do too. My problem is I have flat feet that causes pain in my legs, especially in my hamstrings. It wasn’t always this way, but it came about from overuse, poor footwear, and improper stretching. I’ve been to a hundred different massage therapists, most who just give the same generic once over, but none like Ivan. The man’s brain is hardwired to pinpoint where the pain is and remedy it. There’s one spot in particular that I had active release technique (A.R.T.) and physical therapy on for years, which would always just temporarily relive the pain, but when I saw Ivan the first time he quickly identified that it was referred pain from another, completely different area, and after working on that area it hasn’t been a significant issue since. He was able to diagnose and address something that Doctors of Physical Therapy had missed.
Not only does he always work out what’s causing an issue, but he’s able to adapt to new issues that life likes to throw your way, explain the bio-​mechanics of what’s causing it, and then he gives homework with stretches and exercises to do so you can learn how to handle it yourself. There are times where he will tape you up with KT tape which is very helpful. I’ve learned a lot about an area that was once Greek to me. I go to see him every couple months for some maintenance, as you would for a car I suppose. That’s just my case, yours may be different.
I can’t really say enough about the man. He’s an excellent massage therapist. I went from chronic pain to a quality of life I thought was really lost to me, and it’s hard to put a price on that. It’s just a plus that he’s got a Unilocal deal going on, which is how I found him about a year ago.

Everything feels better! I was a little nervous about going to a male massage therapist but Ivan was really friendly and made me feel really comfortable. I had a shoulder and neck injury from overuse, misuse and sleeping on it funny. Ivan was really thorough with his work and I had gone to many massages before– I can say he really knows his stuff! Im going to be sending my best friend in the are to him for a pre-​natal massage!

Ivan is an amazing therapist. I really feel like for the first time all my issues were addressed. We sat and talked for a bit about my past treatment history and things that might be a problem and might not be. It was a great massage, and included lots of stretching but it did not seem out of place, it was very soothing. I am a yoga teacher so it was sort of a sports massage but I also requested to relax. I would totally go back.
