I’ve been on a quest to replace kowloons because since the change of ownership the quality has taken a significant dive. The food here has been good and the service has been excellent. Friendly and attentive. I am going to continue to try the different Chinese food restaurants in the eugene area but will use this place when i really need a for sure Chinese food fix.

The food was barely tolerable. The egg flower soup was plain, flavorless, with disgusting-looking globs of undissoved starch in it. Even though there was no mention of mushrooms on the menu, the mu-shu pork came with tons of slivered mushrooms that could not be picked out. The fried rice was so overly salty it was almost inedible. The breaded vegetables in the egg foo young were barely chopped, such that it looked like a stack of kindling; it was overcooked and burned in places, making it difficult to cut into; and the gravy was little more than water thickened with corn starch, more resembling a paste than anything else. The sweet and sour chicken was basically maraschino chicken — the coating bright red and so sweet that it had practically solidified into a candied shell by the time it reached my mouth. What’s more, our servers seemed altogether indifferent to our existence — they did little to acknowledge us beyond taking our order, and did not give us any indication that they valued our patronage. We will not be returning, and advise you not to waste your time and money on this establishment.

Incredibly rude woman serving us. So rude we decided we would not be staying to eat. Will not be back!

I have been coming here for years. I stick to lunch time where it is quiet and fresh and hot. It is a little more expensive than some restaurants but tasty.

IFYOULIKECHINESEFOOD, DON’T COMEHERE. We ordered to-go: Won ton soup, Mongolian beef w/pork fried rice, curry chicken with steamed rice. Total: $ 30.50 +$ 2 tip won ton soup was literally dough in opaque BEEF broth(not chicken), no veggies… won tons were so mushy and doughy we didn’t take more than a bite. Mongolian beef was Okay; Most flavorful dish. Pork fried rice was pork slices placed on top of the brown colored rice. So when you dug in there was no more pork, and no veggies. Curry chicken was flavorless boiled chicken and onions, not very great if you like curry. Definitely not«hot» or «rich» luckily the white rice was steamed correctly. Needless to say we wont be back.

Food was extremely bland. Customer service was poor when I went. I didn’t leave a tip at all, which is rare for me.

My son and I went here the other night strictly because it was close and we didn’t want to travel far, I had not been here in years and now I remember why! The food was bland! For starters all we could hear was a loud patron talking about his disgusting health problems! When our egg flower soup came it was the most bland soup I have ever had at a Chinese restaurant! Our food came and while the presentation looked fine we barely ate, and this was my first meal of the day! It was all just gross I didn’t want to finish it, and for the price. The owner was very nice. I will give the place that much, and the tea. Oh wait my son liked the saltine crackers! So needles to say we will not be back, unless it’s to park in front to do banking or eat a sub sandwich next door!

Now this is a good Chinese food restaurant! My mom and I used to come here all the time, and now I am going to start taking my own family there again! It is a little hole in the wall, and they know how to run their restaurant!

So I stopped by this place to get some Hot and Sour soup to go. First thing I realize is its crazy expensive. $ 8 bucks for a bowl and a half worth. Whatever-it better be good. Ha! Famous last words. The Hot and Sour soup was neither hot or sour.(That’s a problem) The meat used in the soup was tough and tasted awful. I would bet that what ever is leftover in the kitchen gets to take a swim. I’ve said that you can tell a good Chinese place from a bad one by how they treat the fish tank in the lobby. Well I should have taken my own advice because I felt sorry for that little fish. :-(

Everything tastes like its out of a box, and the same sauce is used for everything. My Szechuan tofu was supposed to be hot, and the sauce tasted like brown gravy with a couple of pepper flakes thrown in. When asked if I would like it hotter, «YES!!» I was handed a bottle of rooster hot sauce(sriracha). With all this said, the staff wasn’t bad at all. In short, descent service, bad food.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant and has been since I was a kid. I have gone here with my family since I was little and still to this day. I have tried other Chinese places and they all don’t compare to this place. Love the food! I crave it and just have to go back. LOOOVE the oolong tea. I once asked the owner what the tea was so I could get some and she brought out the huge bag of loose leaf tea to show me. I now drink Oolong at home and have found out its good for you. Whenever we go in there she knows our order, we don’t even need menus. We get enough food for both of us to have two dinners. Huge plates too. Super good place to go if you are starving because they are quick to get it ready and bring it out. Prices are definitely reasonable because you get a ton of food. This place has been around since before I was born I think and still is and I hope it stays! Def go check it out. San Pan for two is soooo good!

This Chinese restaurant is still my favorite out of every Chinese place I have eaten in Eugene, Oregon, United States and the world. That may not mean a lot to you but I have a hard time finding sweet and sour and mar far chicken that I like. There seems to be a large difference in sauce from each establishment that being said I crave this place, and it is hard to replace as I don’t live in Eugene anymore. Their prices were responible when I lived in Eugene and their service was acceptable. It seems to be a family operated restaurant, that has been around for several years. I recommend this place to all my friends and family who want some Chinese food, specifically if you want sweet and sour. My wife is a fan of their chow mein

China Seas is a great, reliable place to go. The owner, Sadie, makes great recommendations that you may not see on the menu, so ask her advice. Big portions(I get usually 3 meals out of a dinner entrée). The hot and sour soup is awesome as is the mar far chicken and Hunan beef(they will make Hunan chicken or shrimp too, if u ask!) Meals arrive fast so it’s great when you are hungry. Also takeout is usually ready in 15 minutes.

If you want strip mall style Chinese food then this is the place for you. If not then walk away. The last time I was their their Chow Mein and similiar dishes had diced carrots and peas(like they were made with bags of frozen vegetables). Their fried offering were extremely greasy, indicative of poorly prepared ingredients. So save your money and try somewhere else. The only saving grace for this restaurant is that in it’s current location, only Yar Gar Yuen competes with them for business.
