I really wish you could do half stars because this should really be more like 3.5 stars. I’ve been a loyal customer of Mio ever since their first location opened on 23rd and I have eaten at every location in the Portland Metro area. Sad to say that this Eugene location is just not the same. The sushi rice was so bland as was the teriyaki chicken. The overall sushi taste was fine, but it was the teriyaki chicken that disappointed me, I feel like it’s hard to mess up grilling some chicken and then pouring sauce over it… There was only a lite layer of sauce on top, leaving an entire layer of bland, tasteless chicken on the bottom. Plain steamed vegetables were put into the box, which gave the rice a very unpleasant after taste. This entrée was also suppose to come with miso soup, which was not included. Definitely not worth $ 12, you can get way better teriyaki chicken from a food cart for half that price. I will give the sushi another try.

The food here is amazing, props to the chef! The wait staff was very friendly as well. Great location in the Oakway Center. Tasty drinks on tap to go with excellent sushi choices. I’m only giving 4 stars because the interior needs some updating.

Okay – nice menu, but they served my unagi don with brown rice. Brown rice in donburi? No, I didn’t request it. The waitress was very friendly but forgot the drink order on a very slow night, likely because none of the waitresses there write orders down, which works at high end restaurants with very experienced wait staff, but here, no. Brown rice in donburi. UGH. Falling apart and dry. I’ll skip this place next time around.

Tried this place as we were passing through and it was just OK. I had the bento with teriyaki chicken and a beef dish of some sort it also came with an extremely small portion of rice and salad with a horrible orange colored dressing on it. The bento is not a lot of food for the price. The service is good and the place is clean. I wanted to like it more but the food isn’t anything I would seek out again.

This is a great spot for gluten free sushi eaters. The staff and owners are fantastic, and their food is delicious. Two thumbs up, every time. I’m never disappointed!

Always fresh and good. Kind and attentive service. Extremely reasonable prices. I’ve been coming for years and have always had good or better experiences here. Definitely recommend.

Probably not a full four stars, but definitely better than three. We like the food and ambience here, a nice lunch spot that fronts onto the Oakway Courtyard. Try the seaweed salad with real crab.

Great stop for a Saturday night sushi dinner that is delicious and won’t break the bank. My wife had the udon noodle soup and she found it perfect for a chilly night. I had the spicy chicken with brown rice and I loved every bite of it. We had two rolls of sushi and they were tasted as good as they looked. Great service as well. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken right away. The waiter filled my hot tea three times in one sitting without me asking. The restaurant was nice and clean. Can’t ask for anything more. Great experience all around!

Took one hour for one roll of sushi and nothing else. Rice was still warm and the roll fell apart upon trying to pick up. I have ate at four other sushi places in town this was by far the worst.

Staff was very friendly. The sushi tasted fresh and very good. The teriyaki chicken and gyozas(potstickers) were probably the best I’ve ever had. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal.

I have been eating sushi for over 25 years from coast to coast and I have to say that the service, the cleanliness, and the food are all on point for the price set. When the food here is not up to standard(fresh) the owner wants to know as well as the staff and it is taken care of immediately. That has been my experience. I go because the food is consistent what you see on the menu is what you get no variations. Ryan and Darcy are the owners and they treat the staff and customers with respect and it shows. Something I can say I look for in a restaurant. Especially, if I am spending my hard earned money.

This place has a very great assortment of Asian dishes. Been coming here for 5 + years. Always enjoyed my time here. Dishes all good & friendly staff. Manager/owner local from Hawaii. I am not sure why those other people complain about this restaurant. I guess they must be very very picky eaters. :-| My family been always happy coming here… :-)

Can’t believe the bad reviews… I have eaten sushi from many different places, and this is far from being«mediocre» sushi. I don’t know if the bad reviews come from people who have lived in Japan for 15+ years or what, but Mio Sushi offers GREAT fish at this location. I don’t order many«premium» rolls, you know, the ones with all the ingredients in them so you only taste the most outstanding flavor? We typically get the nigiri, and not once have we gotten bad, or even«mediocre» fish. Sauces are gluten-free, so if that turns some people off, then I don’t know what to tell them. The inside is very modern by most sushi restaurant standards(aka not having a dark, dim, overly-decorated restaurant)… but the couple who run this place keep it in tip-top shape, provided EXCELLENT customer service, and keep the place and outside very clean. It is always a treat coming to Mio Sushi. Give this place an honest and unbiased shot and you won’t be disappointed… unless you think you will be «found» or «discovered» on Unilocal and based of your bad reviews, get some T. V show with cameras following you around ;) Mio gets 5 Stars from me for cleanliness, quality of fish, service, and atmosphere.

Sushi is by far my favorite food, I have gone to every single sushi restaurant in Eugene and mio sushi is by far the best. The rolls are phenomenal and are very reasonably priced. I think the best part about Mio is the experience. Their décor and ambiance is very relaxing and their servers are fantastic(in particular Darcy and Michelle). I highly recommend Mio as an amazing sushi and seafood restaurant here in Eugene!

I’ve been to many sushi restaurants in Eugene and I’m from Spain where all we eat is quality seafood, sushi, etc. And sushi mio has far surpassed the other sushi restaurants in the area. The quality of fish and excellent service are above average for Eugene — actually all of Oregon. The excellent team of servers(Darcy and Michelle in particular) always remember my name and last order in case I forget & provides service above & beyond her call of duty. Love this place and come here every day I want sushi now! :-)

Excellent service and quality. I made an error on my order and really wanted a specific roll. They credited the roll I ordered in error and made me what I really wanted. Everything is always super fresh. I’ve asked for something to be removed from a roll before and the sushi chef has come out to see if I want something else substituted back in to customize my roll. Great service!

This was my first experience here, and I will say that it was ok, not great but nor horrible either. One issue that did come up, was my wife ordered hot tea which came just fine, but the saucer that was covering her tea when she turned it over had rice stuck to the bottom of it. Since it had been steaming for the last couple of minutes it grossed us both out. The server was very gracious and replaced it right away with a fresh set. As for the food, it was decent, I can’t say that it seemed to be the freshest or best that I have ever had. We had the staples of Cali roll(daughter) spicy tuna, spicy salmon, maguro, ebi, sake and a couple of their special rolls. I also had a sake, that was seared and spiced with pepper which honestly was the best one of the bunch. Prices were affordable(for sushi), the service was descent, but again not something that was an experience to remember.

Brief review, mostly to say that the Sushi Belt has been discontinued. The food here doesn’t seem as good/fresh/high quality as at Mio Sushi up in Portland, though I must say I kind of like the Sushizza with shrimp even if it is a little on the sweet side. Service has been good whenever we’ve gone, and prices are quite low(about half of what you’ll pay at Pier Sushi, which we liked, but which seems more expensive by the visit).

My regular spot! Sushi good, atmosphere just right! I was Disappointed when the track was shut down, because it was such an integral part of the experience and the cooks would watch for my daughter to be with me and add her favorite sample pieces just for her to the track! The staff is up-beat and ready to make the experience great. The bar is small but easily can become quite the scene for a ladies night that you want special attention(cause you are the only ones there, ha ha) Their outdoor seating is in the courtyard under old oak trees; mommy gets happy hour glass of wine, daughter runs and plays within view for hour or so!
