Yesterday, I came in for highlights and a haircut. I’ve never had highlights, so I didn’t want something too obvious, just pretty and natural. Joanna gave me exactly what I was looking for. My highlights look like I was in the sun all day, not like I went to the salon– perfect. And she re shaped my hair, cut off the dead ends while keeping my length, and styled it beautifully. I’ve never felt so pretty after getting my hair done. I will definitely be back!

I have only had facials and waxings at this location but Trish is the best for them! Her technique and knowledge is what keeps bringing me back to her year after year! Definitely recommended!

Amy is super sweet & is dedicated to taking care of her clients. My gel manicures look great, have lasting power & I know she is dedicated to taking care of my nails instead of ripping them apart, like many places I’ve been to. She will definitely take care of you & make your nails look amazing!

For Christmas, I wanted to get my mom a girls’ spa day. I checked around at a few places, and decided on Skin Deep. What a great choice!
I wanted to make sure I was going to a place that was friendly and low-​key: neither of us would feel comfortable in a stuck-​up, fancy place. I had to leave messages when I called, but they were always returned promptly. Scheduling was easy, and we got our slot for facials and messages on Saturday morning. When we arrived, they didn’t even ask our names: they already knew who we were! We were taken back promptly, and after a quick assessment of our needs, treatments were started.
I had my massage first. I’ve had massages before but not since being pregnant, so I had no idea what to expect from a «prenatal massage.» I started out on my back with the head on the table lifted slightly. Since I have a lot of trouble with my neck and shoulders, she started there and spent most of the time on those areas. I still had a full body with arms, legs, and feet, but I felt my shoulders and neck got a majority of the attention, which is exactly what I needed. For the remainder of the massage, I was lying on my side so she could reach my back. I had told her I was having SI joint dysfunction, but I wasn’t expecting she could do much about it. I was wrong… it was painful, but she worked around my low back/​hip area like a pro, and I haven’t had the pain in days! Amazing! My shoulders have since tightened up quite a bit, but that’s to be expected when I was really bad before we started.
As soon as I was up from the massage and dressed in the provided gown and robe, I sat with my mom in a back waiting area while the sheets were changed in each room, and we were immediately brought into the other treatment room. My mom’s skin looked great from her facial, and now it was my turn! Trish was awesome. There’s always that awkwardness to facials, where you’re not quite sure if you should be talking… or what to talk about. I’m not the most social person in situations like that. But Trish was so much fun, we talked the whole way through the facial and were laughing and sharing beer recommendations the whole time (for AFTER the baby is born, of course!). She was very careful about making sure I was comfortable and didn’t mind the feel and smell of the treatments (not at all). My skin feels so soft and smooth, I love it.
The prices are very reasonable, it’s a very friendly and comfortable shop, and you don’t have to go into the city to get there! My mom and I were both very pleased with our experience, and next time I feel like some pampering, I’ll be back!

Very friendly establishment. Stormy and I went for the massage and it was professional, high quality and they didn’t skimp on the time like most of the other places we’ve tried in the Sac area.

You’ve got to try the Pumpkin Facial! The smell is fresh and spicy! The texture of my skin has changed in a way I’ve never experienced before. I’ve been seeing Trisha for years. She always does a fantastic job on my facials. I have large pores on my nose, thanks for genetics, regardless of what I do. The Pumpkin Facial in combination with the new PCA skin care line offered by Trisha has made my pores smaller and less noticeable. I can even wear less make up now! I’m showing off my skin instead of trying to cover it up. Trisha’s prices are very reasonable and worthy every penny!

Gayleen was the best! I showed up to her space with crazy, «soccer» feet and left with amazing toes! She worked with what I had and created a masterpiece. She was personal and attentive. She also sent me home with several recommendations to aid in the maintenance of my foot hygiene due to my super active lifestyle. I would refer my friends to Skin Deep Salon to see Gayleen, plus the view is relaxing.

Donna wins best massage therapist in my book! I have never booked repeat visits with a therapist until visiting Donna. She listens, takes her time to tend to your issues and is very professional. I make a point to see her as often as I can afford. Book some time with her, you won’t be disappointed. I love that Skin Deep is right in my backyard and being located in Old Town Fair Oaks makes the experience even more relaxing.

I went here and had Gels put on my nails with a coupon I purchased off the internet, it was hard to get in to Gayleen because she was busy, booked out two weeks in advance and when I walked into the salon I thought cute small salon, cool. I had her polish my toes and ‘Gel’ my finger nails, she was very quiet and I felt I was more of a bother than a paying client. She talked more to the hairdresser in the room than with me. I did notice she dropped some of her tools on the floor several times and picked them right up and used them again, a little alcohol was suppost to clean them? Gayleen also answered her phone in the middle of my appointment, «am I not as important as the client callling?’ I am happy with the gel on my fingernails but my French polish on my toes, and it is all white and I feel it was a waste of my time and money to get that service done. I would not tell anyone I know to go Gayleen for nail services, she might know how to put gel on fingernails but there is more to being a Manicurest than that.

I am super impressed by Gayleen. It all started with a living social promotion for an OPI Gel Manicure. I had it done at another place once before, and I wanted to take my mom with me to check it out.
It was tough for her to find openings for both my mother and I since she was very full, but she promised to call back when an opening came up. Even though an opening didn’t arise, she called me and scheduled an early 8AM time just so she could accommodate us.
We loved the park view in old Fair Oaks, and enjoyed talking with her. She is very skilled, easy going, and she works at a good speed. She checks in with her clients and ensures they are completely thrilled with her work. We look forward to seeing her again, and highly recommend nail services by Gayleen.

I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else in Sacramento. I am from Sacramento and live in San Diego now and still cant find anywhere else that compares, therefore I try to see her whenever I visit my parents.
Trisha really becomes a member of the family (she did in mine!) My mom, sister and myself go to see her! (i’ve even taken a boyfriend or two! lol)
She has great prices and is always on top of the newest products and techniques!
I promise you won’t regret a visit to Skin Deep!

It has been 4 months and my skin has never behaved better under Trisha’s care. I’m so glad I found her.
This update however is for Stevanie, the resident hairdresser. I recently had my hair partially-​colored purple, and with my black asian hair, it involves heavy bleaching before the color could be applied. I only had it done once before years ago elsewhere and was not happy with the end results. Stevanie listened, understood my concerns, and gave me confidence to try coloring my hair purple again. This time, I was not disappointed. The color was rich, vibrant and it stayed! Stevanie artfully picked out «panels» in my hair, giving me both options to show off my purple highlights or to pin them away for more professional/​somber situations. My 3-​month-​old hair cut has grown out nicely, complementing my purple highlights. Thank you, Stev!

Treated myself to a birthday facial and Trish, once again, did not disappoint. She used an all natural exfoliation mask on me, and because I’m allergic to nuts and nut oils, she read the ingredients to me before beginning to put my mind at ease. My face as soft as a baby’s bottom. I so wish I could do this every month.

I’ve been going here for years. Trish, Donna, and Gayleen are amazing. I love the products (Yonka) Trish uses. I really look forward to all my appointments with these guys! I highly recommend Skin Deep.

Trish, the owner, is been the only one that has been able to get my badly behaving skin under control. She is full of helpful advise and skin care tips. She doesn’t even make fun of me when I act like a baby during extractions.

The only woman in the world that can tame my uni-​brow! I have been going to Trish at Skin deep for well over ten years now, she is amazing! The place is friendly and very reasonably priced.
They have all sorts of services too. Massage, hair stylists, mani & pedi and all sorts of waxing.

I have been going to Trish (the owner) forever — even before she bought her new place. She is AMAZING — very knowledgeable and professional but so much fun. I get my brows waxed bi-​weekly as well as monthly facials and brow tints. She also sells many products including Murad and Dermalogica.
