Overpriced items. Service that is apathetic. No vibe. The only lyrics reason I came here is because my friend set plans here and I didn’t want to change location out of courtesy.

I was so excited to find out there was a location closer to my house because I absolutely love the location at Northpark. However the two locations don’t even seem to be related other than the fact that they have the same menu. We weren’t even greeted by anyone for 5 minutes, despite the fact the employees saw us walk in. Eventually they finally asked us what we wanted, however they still never said hello to us. Despite the fact that the customer service was lacking, they also don’t carry any dairy alternatives like the Northpark location does. Get with the times guys! Even if the customer service was perfect you would still be losing business due to not accommodating a growing number of people who don’t consume dairy.

Ok where can I start today we came into his coffee bar no one was there to help we had to find someone in the kitchen to get someone to help us at the bar second problem his family comes in with two small children and they have ice cream on their menu when they ask for ice cream the girl behind the counter who is so unimpressed with anyone in there has decided that she can’t give him ice cream because this Cooper doesn’t work right one of the children started crying because they were promised ice cream, I would find. two spoons and make that ice cream happen. this person could give a crap not to mention they had another scooper she said it was just not the right size I couldn’t give this place any bigger one star then it currently has shame on you and there’s a reason this place is freakin empty I will never ever even consider coming back and the place has potential is beautiful inside just run like a barrel monkeys !!! A little overpriced and not great service but interesting menu items. They have an order up window which is cool.

Service stinks. Went in after watching a movie at iPic. My husband and I were hoping to get a coffee and dessert. The sign said they are open until 10. It was 8:45. We waited for 10 minutes before my husband finally peeked over to restaurant and asked if they were open. The guy responded that someone would be right there. In comes an agitated girl. We ask her some questions and she starts getting more annoyed. My husband asks what time do they close and she replied with an attitude, «in 5 minutes». After that, we just walked out and went to Whole Foods where they were kind enough to serve us after 9 even though the café was about to close. Won’t be back.

You see, I fell in love here. The cafes in Peru, the precious doses of adventure in Paris are at some slower rate… Decaf or impulsive expresso binges; the side-effects of the beginning of this caffeinated addiction. There’s nothing more breathtaking than a liberated woman with Keret in here left hand, and caramel frappé in her right. She won’t notice you until you manically make a fool of yourself in the café, or rather take the advice the employee gave you, after you squirmed around the front desk for eight minutes while a few business came into to hang after they saw the avengers at ipic, and just go up and say hi to the people you want to say hi to. I will go talk to her. I will do it. As I made my way over to her table, with a few napkins, I said aloud to men in blue suits as they were leaving the café,“Haneke, Anderson, Burton; it doesn’t matter just dabble with as many genres as possible!“ My crush looked up and thought I must be from mckinney, or farmersville. «I’ve read a little bit of him.» she said,“If you want, we can be real about it. I climb fast. I go into dark places, coming out with saved bodies. Help from the inside matters. They are the heroes that never want to know about the glory they could have had. It just isn’t about that.“ It had nothing to do with books, gender, coffee, or iron man. I wanted to give her a foot massage, she thought it to be weird but she kissed my hand — before she left — and I ordered a shot from Sidney. Under 1 minute! Good music, too!

The milk chocolate pudding cake is good. Unfortunately, the service is bad and the wifi wasn’t working. Probably won’t be back.

Coffee is very good. It’s a little pricey but I think it’s worth it — at least for a double espresso. The staff are nice enough if not a bit snobbish about coffee. The coffee is better than their employees attitudes.

I heard so much about the pastries and sweets here. For the hype(and the price), we were underwhelmed. I think for 3 pastries, it was just over $ 40. Totally did not taste as good as they looked. Much better sweet treats out there for less $$.

Had their café au lait and wedding cookies. Mom had the French cappuccino and Brazilian cookies. Sooooo good! I love this place. But don’t go here if you want food. Their food is overpriced and low quality. I only come to this chain for coffee and pastries.

Ordered two coffees and two desserts. Quite expensive. Presentation nice enough but my cuatro leches cake was dry. With four milks how is that even possible? Ate it anyway because of the price. Slow service even though we were the only two people there.

Cute little restaurant in Allen. That’s about as far as it goes. $ 8 for two cupcakes, barely the size of my palm? They tasted decent, but not for the price. My fiancé and I also went to have dinner in the restaurant side. Again, mediocre food that is over priced. Along with EXTREMELY slow service when the restaurant had NOONE in there. Maybe it was the fact that we came in through the coffee side into the restaurant and sat at the bar? But it took almost 15 min before we even got a waiter. No chips and salsa either. The waiter was nice, but for not being busy, he definitely took his time. The food? We ordered the nachos as an appetizer, which were pretty good. I ordered the veggie sandwich and my fiancé ordered the grilled chicken. They were out of fries which I thought was a bad sign considering, well, the fact that you’re a restaurant with no customers. HOW do you run out of food? I personally, did not like my sandwich at all. It was way too messy to eat. I suppose since it was a veggie sandwich they felt the need to saturate it with cheese and sauce covering the over sized vegetables. I wouldn’t come back here by choice, but the fiancé likes the desserts here– namely their ice cream since it is made in house. That is the saving grace and reason why they didn’t get one star.

Love the European feel. The cappuccino is the best I have had since visiting Italy. I’ve always come here when it wasn’t busy and had a great overall experience. Service is prompt and presented beautifully. Some people may find it pricey but I’m always willing to pay more for better quality coffee.

I really love the concept of this place but the service was such a let down. I came in on a hot afternoon looking for some iced coffee or a cappuccino. The iced cappuccino was awesome, perfect flavor, price and size. The wait was an entirely different matter. I understand that drink orders from the attached restaurant come in and need to be seen to– that’s fine. I’m a patient person. But every time a waiter or someone from the back approached the guy behind the coffee bar, he would get distracted and start chatting or joking. By the time I finally got my drink I was ready to walk out and forget it. And it wasn’t even a busy afternoon, no line and no other customers in the coffee area waiting for drinks. I wouldn’t go back here, the coffee was good but I don’t like having my time wasted for gossip and other such nonsense.

As the smaller version of the more upscale La Duni, Dulce’s a cute little place in the Villages of Fairview and seems to be a perfect stop for tired shoppers to get a quick caffeine fix & some delicious pastries. I didn’t get to try any of the entrees, but I did sample one of their award-winning cupcakes, the Cuatro Leches. Tres Leches is one of my favorite desserts so I was curious to find out what exactly the fourth milk was in this special cupcake. The day that I went to Dulce, I was informed that the fresh cupcakes for that day had been sitting out in the truck for some time and so they were being sold for $ 1.50 instead of their usual $ 3.95. Boyfriend and I shared a cupcake and were disappointed by the taste. Don’t get me wrong, the vanilla sponge cake was tasty but somehow seemed odd paired with the tres leches sauce. The meringue however was really good, and the cupcake is served with extra tres leches sauce and Arequipe caramel drizzled on top. Overall, the cupcake was good but not something I’d be willing to spend $ 4 on. Maybe I’ll come back and try a panini next time.

Stopped in here for lunch with my parents from out of town the other day on the fly… ummm TWICE in one week! Cute little bistro setting for lunch, as the larger formal dining area is closed off until dinner hours. They have a little patio too for those rare days when the weather is nice enough to sit outside! On the first trip, we tried their latin paninis. The Grilled Goucho Chicken Sandwich was fantastic on a fresh ciabiatta roll with avocado and tasty manchego cheese. So was the Peruvian Chancho with crispy pork(so juicy and flavorful) with apple cider mayo. I ordered a side of the Quinoa Salad for my daughter, which she loved, including red bell pepper, tart cherries, cilantro, red onion in a melody of beautiful red quinoa. The second trip we ordered the same sandwiches, PLUS the empanada of the day. My mother, a recipe contest winner, and all around fantastic cook said it was the best empanada she ever had. I agreed. Flaky crust, still crisp and not soggy with a beautiful filling of mushrooms and onions that were seasoned beautifully. Oh, and this time we ordered a side of rice and black beans for my daughter. Umm. I think next time I“ll just order up a double of THIS. Oh, geez my mouth was singing La Duni black bean praises for days. And let me tell you, it’s not often I sing about black beans! So, if you’re shopping around the Village at Fairview anytime soon, stop off at Dulce by La Duni for a snack or lunch. They have delicious looking homemade artisanal vintage sodas, cupcakes, latin beignets, and a huge selection of coffee drinks.

Sweet, sweet caffeine in Allen, TX. This new coffee bar location by La Duni is a perfect rest-stop during a long day of shopping. I met with my hair and makeup team here this past Sunday to discuss wedding day beauty and the ambiance was calm and cool. The drinks? Even cooler. I tried the Limonada Con Menta and my mom, the Euro Coffee. Both were really good… in fact, I’m still dreaming about that tart frozen limeade. I will have to agree with Phillip S., though, that the staff could work a little on their ‘tudes. It took several minutes for the cashier to acknowledge that we had even walked in the front door. Overall, I’d return for another drink or two and possibly one of those sinful-looking cupcakes in the front counter.

Contrary to all the other reviews, i thought the service was actually pretty good BUT I am giving this place such a low rating because the quantity of food doesn’t equal the price. Given that Dulce is the café version of La Duni, their portions are more snack size — dont expect to get full here off of 1 panini. Me and the hubby ordered 2 paninis and 1 empanada and that cost $ 25 — and we left feeling like they owed us another panini so we could fill up! BTW, their empanadas are $ 5 for 1 piece. That’s pretty ridiculous.

Expensive, cramped, and unorganized. But the most european coffee house in the DFW burbs. The entry level espresso is $ 3+ and pastries can run your bill to $ 10+ per person, which is inexcusable, unless that is after you converted from Euros to USD, which is that case is only excusable if they drink and pastry were consumed on a piazza in Perugia, Venezia, Roma, or any other Italian city. Major negatives: Staff seemed to know less than Starbucks about their drinks. No easily accessible electrical outlets. Dry cupcakes. Hey Far North Dallas Burbs where is the moisture in your pastries? Price…whew, the price.

La Duni is a great place to while away the afternoon. My family had a mini-reunion in Texas and my mom insisted that Dulce by La Duni had to make the families itinerary so Sunday afternoon, a very loud filipino family came into la duni looking for beverages and dessert(and we’re talking 25+ people here). My cousin pre-ordered two cakes for all of us. There was a little confusion, but in the end they were more than happy to slice cake and pass it around the room for all of us to try. It was a mad house of everyone ordering drinks, but the servers were great and handled us with ease. The drinks are my favorite, my husband got the guava soda and it was really refreshing. I opted for the limonada con mango. I was kind of regretting not getting an espresso to go with the cake, but in the end I was really happy to have something sour to offset all the sweet. As for the cakes, I remembering trying the cuatro leches cake. My mom loves it, my family loves it… I… think it’s too sweet. It’s just a personal preference. Clearly the rest of my family doesn’t mind. We also had the triple chocolate truffle cake which I also thought was too sweet, but again the rest of my family loved it. As for food stuff I did love, the empanada’s are relaly good(try sausage!) and so were the bunuelos. Overall, great drinks, great service, and a fun place to hang out.
