Brought in a few items to exchange from a baby shower. Am 8 months pregnant. Clerk repeatedly asked me if my son«didn’t like the items»(all had full tags attached, etc.) despite me clearly stating I just didn’t pick them out myself and obviously have not yet given birth. Seemed spacey. I couldn’t find where I’d put the gift receipts but she said not to worry, she didn’t need them since the tags were attached. Fine. Turns out, that was a complete lie. She gave me the current(50% or more off everything for Labor Day) selling price rather than the price my friend actually paid! What a rip off! I would definitely have gone back to the car to locate the receipt had she been honest about the store policy. Instead, she said she could«look items up» in the system no problem. Not a word was mentioned about current selling price or return without receipt policy. Very shady; won’t be returning to Carter’s.

Definitely not my first choice of shop for kid’s clothes, even cheap ones, but it will do in a pinch. I find their selection for smaller babies to be better than for 18 months and older. Footed pajamas are pretty good — cotton for summer, fleece for winter. I’ve found that all their cotton apparel, especially the PJ’S, shrink significantly, by a full size, if washed at 85 degrees and dried in a low heat drier. On the other hand, I like their white onesies — long sleeve for winter, short for summer. They hold up really well in the wash(after the initial shrinkage) and can be bleached, which is essential. The pricing is kind of bizarre — everything is always on sale, so it’s hard to know how much one should be paying. And you can sign up online for additional coupons… The store can be really busy on weekends, even with tourists, it seems !

Prices are good – there are always sales. But the selection could be better for boys.

3.5 stars Solid place for infant and toddler clothes. The prices are fine(never buy anything full price of course), they have a liberal return/exchange policy(godsend considering how fast these little buggers seem to grow), and some of the clothes are pretty darn cute! I’m starting to become more familiar with infant/toddler clothing, and those Carter’s is very mainstream and not haute chic by any means, the designs are solid and the material is pretty good. And if you are shopping for someone else, you could make a really great gift bag out the different themes they have for certain outfits. Getting to this Carters is a true maze, but that’s not their fault. Go here on a random Mon Tues Wed night — low traffic in this brightly lit store and good customer service. What else can you ask for?

I’ve always been a fan of Carter’s, other than the prices that is. However, the occasional sale is usually enough to bring us in. I can’t really say that this location is different from any other Carter’s, the prices are on the high side, but there usually is some kind of sale. The store is slightly larger than some others, so it has a little bit more of an extensive stock. However, I noticed that mostly in the older children’s clothing. My biggest complaint about the store is that the parking lot of the shopping center is crazy. In all, if I’m up here I’d come to this Carter’s again, but it would not be my destination Carter’s.

Only 1 person working here… on a Saturday morning? With at least half a dozen moms with kids rummaging through the racks? God bless the nice — and patient — sales lady. Came here for a shower gift because this is the closest Carter’s to DC. Two things that made me go «hmmmm…»: 1) I needed a gender neutral gift for a baby shower where the gender is a surprise. All gender neutral stuff is kept in the back(?!). When the gal brought it out, the grand total of items was…3. Three choices of gifts that are gender neutral? All with duckies? Oh boy. 2) When checking the price I said, «Wow, good deal, this set is only $ 17!». «Oh no,» the sales gal replied, «the ticket price is never the actual price. Everything is always on sale.» …which is good… I guess… but then what is the point of ticketing items? A confusing world to me now, but I suspect in a few years when mommy-hood comes my way, I’ll become a bit more familiar with the bizarre ins-and-outs of places like Carter’s.

Carter’s is not bad for boys. It could have a better selection for boys under 18 months, but not bad. The prices are pretty good… my wife comes out of the store with 4 or 5 bags of clothes all under $ 75. The service is usually ok.

I go into this place about once a month and always come out with a large bag of stuff for my son for about $ 50. Carter’s doesn’t always have the most imaginative designs(particularly for boys), but the quality is reliable and the prices are good. My son has lived in their footed sleepers for most of his young life. Everything is always on sale, and they always give you a coupon for the next month’s visit.
