I used the online ordering service to get fish tacos. the food was ready quickly and the tacos were on point. its a little pricey compared to some of the other Mexican restaurants on the island but i like that its a local business instead of a chain. would definitely eat here again

Food is fun and fresh! A casual place to grab a casual meal that is actually good quality food.

A group of coworkers and I ordered lunch from here one day… and it took a while to show up(by a while, I mean we ordered around 1pm and I received my lunch at 4pm). The best part was they had forgotten my order amongst several other items. They finally returned with my order and they had given me the wrong drink. At this point, I didn’t care since I was starving. Onto the food… I ordered a burrito bowl with rice, beans, corn pico de gallo, and ground beef with lime vinaigrette dressing. It wasn’t the best since my burrito bowl was apparently smothered with the dressing, making my food super tangy and hard to eat. I ate as much as I could and threw out the rest. My coworkers could tell how upset and disappointed I was just to wait this long to eat below average food. I hate throwing out food as well, but it was just something I couldn’t force myself to finish. Also, I am suffering from health issues which cause me to have to eat at certain times. Thanks Mojo Taco for the experience that day. I rushed home from work starving and my husband was wondering why I was upset and hungry.

Have gone here three times for lunch take out. The first time, the food was amazing. They had left an order of chips and guac out of the order but the food was so good, we didn’t really care. Second time, food was noticeably worse and they left out both orders of chips and an order of guac on a burrito bowl This last time we ordered online and they had no record of it even though I had gotten a receipt emailed. Left out both orders of sides and all the toppings for my bowl. The bowl had steak written on it but only rice beans and lettuce in it. I called to correct it and was offered no options and was told a manager would call me. It’s been a week and still no call. Bottom line? Not worth the wait, or the bad customer service for mediocre food.

The local business owner from Mojo Taco left me a thank you this morning from my last review. Getting that alert made me really crave another chorizo egg burrito. Soooo… that’s what I did! After all I’m an instant gratification kinda guy. My first dine in experience here and it was pleasant. The music selection here is really good. 90’s alternative, my favorite musical genre/era. Love this damn place. Keep up the good work. (Side note: the chorizo here is pretty oily, if that’s not your thing, the steak is a great second option)

Ordered delivery and it was very prompt. The food was great, no-nonsense fare. Really enjoyed the tacos and quesadilla. I would definitely recommend if you have Moe’s and Chipotle fatigue. A place like this makes those two chains look like try-hards. Get yourself some effortlessly good food here.

Decent spot for a quick lunch. Across the street from Farmingdale State College. So far I have been here for lunch twice. My coworker and I got veggie quesadillas both times and both visits were equally good. The prices are reasonable and they offer 10% off with an FSCID. Overall I don’t have any complaints, but nothing really sets it apart from nearby Moe’s and Chipotle besides the convenient location.

Consistency worries me here. The first time I came, it was great! Second time not so much. they were out of 2 ingredients black beans and the corn salsa.(A Mexican place out of black beans during lunch rush? Yikes.) My shrimp on my salad the second time didn’t have any of the seasoning it had the first visit. Someone I came with got a salad and the woman behind the counter skimped out a lot on ingredients and not having the black beans didn’t help either. The salad was pathetically small, didn’t even fill the container and was charged full price. I’ll be back to try again, but if it doesn’t live up to my first visit I probably wouldn’t return. Also there’s never anyone eating in here during lunch which also worries me.

I couldn’t even get past ordering on the phone. I wanted to place a family order and the website stated that fish was included but when I called all of a sudden its $ 3.50 extra per taco!!! Are you kidding me??? Change your website to be accurate or honor it. I won’t order from here.

Chicken quesadilla would’ve been just okay without the chicken. Chicken didn’t really taste real and was rubbery, picked it all off. The guacamole looked like liquid. Not worth $ 10.

I’ll start by letting you know I got a salad, so take my review of a taco place with a grain of salt. My concern was not with the food which was just okay. In fact, the peppers and onions were great. My concern was the cleanliness and food temperature. The steak and chicken were cold, which for a salad was fine but if I got a taco I would of been pissed and they come from the same bin. The place looked and felt dirty. These are easy fixes and I hope they are addressed before you decide to visit.

I like Mojo’s, I came here twice in one week. I was looking for Mexican food for my fiancé and this place was extremely close to our hotel and I’m glad we chose to try it over the typical Chipotle. HUGEPORTIONS, I mean, you really get your moneys worth and I love cilantro which they don’t skimp on. I didn’t taste the cheese sauce either time and the second time I ordered the steak burrito and got onions, it was a lot of onions and they definitely weren’t cooked down as much as I like but still good. Definitely worth a try, I prefer them over Moe’s and Chipotle.

I used to order from here at least twice a week until they started charging not me extra for stuff that was previously included with the item. I’m sure the owners are going to read this so please do your customers the favor and fix your online menu. The Mojo Crispy Wrap doesn’t come with chips and salsa. That’s an extra fee but yet, the item on the menu states that it’s included right underneath«TORTAS». Also the Mojo Crispy Wrap no longer comes with guacamole. I called today and placed an order and they charge extra for that when its on the description with the toppings.

Mojo is like Chipotle and Moe’s, but it brings a lot more to the mix. Chorizo, eggs, quesadillas, flatbread pizzas, shrimp, tortas — yesss. They even have gyro(weird, but I am a little gy-curious.) The quality is a couple notches above Moe’s and possibly Chipotle. I’m not surprised considering it’s under the same ownership as CaraCara, which has some decent eats + reviews. You know why I’m coming back here though? EGGS. You can put EGGS in your burrito. Need I say more? Just saying ‘chorizo and egg’ across the counter got me so excited I danced down the line while it went to the kitchen to make the magic happen. I was pleasantly surprised to have spotted Mexican Coke in the fridge behind the counter and I couldn’t turn that down. So far so good. I am looking forward to returning.

I’m a big fan of Moe’s(see my review) and I’m always weary of pop-up taco joints, you never know if it’s going to be great or just awful. Well, I’m happy to say that Mojo Taco is great. Tons of great choices not available at some of the chain burrito joints like chorizo and egg. The quality of the food was great as was the flavor. I’m really happy I went to Mojo today and can’t wait to go back and try more. If you are in the area, check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Not coming back. There wasn’t anything horrifyingly wrong with my experience BUT if I’m splurging on Mexican, it’s gotta be way better than this. First off, the inside is dismal, I was the only customer when I went, so there was no not focusing on the décor/layout. I ordered the tacos, shrimp, chicken and steak. They severely skimp on the toppings, and everything was overly salted, especially the ranch avocado sauce. the food was below average, the service was fantastic, the guy helping us was patient and willing to explain and help us out being that it was our first time, unfortunately not even the service could get me back here.

Finally made it to Mojo Taco and was not disappointed! I had a Mexican salad in a taco bowl and an order of fish tacos. Way too much food! The quality of this take-out was amazing — the service was fast but the taste was definitely not ‘fast food’. Fresh and delicious. Absolutely loved the taco salad. The crispy taco shell made it superior to all others!

I have gone to Mojo Taco twice now in a week-once last Friday night and tonight, a Saturday night. Both times I went before 9pm and each time they were closed. The website says they’re open until 10pm Monday-Saturday and Unilocal says they’re open until 9pm. My father and I really want to try your place for dinner, but we’ve about had it!!! Come on, Mojo Taco have your managers keep the restaurant open during the hours you say it’s open! I give it 1 star for now, b/c they keep closing earlier than the hours they advertise. If they ever stay open long enough for us to get the food, I’ll be happy to add another review. Until then, have some caffeine, keep up your mojo and stay open as late as your website says!

Went back to Mojo Taco for a second bite. This time I had the ground beef burrito. About the size of a beached whale, and really tasty. Three critical points though. They should chop the onions and roasted red peppers into smaller pieces because the skim makes them stringy in the burrito. Secondly, they make you tell the cashier what toppings you want for no reason. You can stand there and tell the preparer what toppings you want. There is no change in price, and to a certain extent you don’t know what toppings you want until he is putting the burrito together. Third, they should put together their own hot sauce instead of relying on bottled sauces. It would make a nice touch. My son had two soft tacos, one steak and one fish. He thought the fish taco was superior and really good. He felt the steak pieces were too large and thus he had to pull them apart on every bite. Then he had a shrimp taco on a crispy taco shell. This is where he went wild. Instead of a pre-formed Old El Paso corn shell, they took a soft taco shell and toasted it into the shape necessary to hold the shrimp taco. He LOVED it! I am sure we aren’t done with Mojo. After all, we live about three minutes away. They still have issues to work out, but if they take reviews to heart eventually they will get it just right.
