Best Sushi place in Farmington. It’s better than most fancy places and the service is always fast.

WARNING! Do NOT fall for the $ 1 sushi club membership! After having several generally good experiences eating here, last nite I decided to try their $ 25 monthly membership card for the $ 1 sushi. I was assured by the waitress it would be of equal quality/size as the ala carte nigiri. What a joke! When she brought the order the pieces could almost be described as «microscopic» :(From my table I could see other diner’s plates for comparison. The manager’s response to my complaint was pathetic; «some of the chef’s cut differantly». Ever hear of portion control? If you want good sushi value, I suggest Noble Fish in Clawson.

Best sushi we’ve had. All the rolls are great. The quality is great. Prices are very reasonable. Can’t say enough about this place. We drive 40 minutes to get here, instead of going to dozens of options that are closer to home.

This place is great! They have the best dressing for their salad, it is to die for! I always get the Michigan style California roll, Las Vegas roll, and shrimp tempura roll. The fire cracker and chicken teriyaki are very tasty too! Have never had a problem until recently when we placed an online carry out order for the Michigan California rolls. They told us that they made the regular California rolls, not the Michigan. Instead of offering to remake them, they tried to make us pay for the rolls we did not want. Other than that incident, the waitresses are always very nice. It’s always empty during lunch time so the service is very quick. Only time I have seen this place packed was on Valentine’s Day and we still got served quickly.

The service was spot on, the sushi was great, the prices are very reasonable, and the in-house dressing for the PRE meal salad is fantastic! Many menu options, from vegetarian to full-on raw sushi!

Arrived on a Friday night during dinner time. Tables were all taken so we took a seat at the sushi bar which was completely empty. 30 mins pass and still no sushi… I wish they didn’t make all the rolls before they decide to serve it to us. All we got so far from our order was the tempura oysters. Someone came after us and they got all their rolls before we did. Talk about bad service. Just like their sister restaurant, it doesn’t seem like we will be coming back. Should’ve stuck with the original plan to get Chinese food. Double FAIL! I noticed the rest of the sushi bar finished eating and we were still waiting for our food. I asked the waitress to check on our food and she apologized and said sorry we are really busy and pointed at all the order receipts on the bar. I understand restaurants get busy, but to be the first one seated at the bar and last one to receive their food and leave is unacceptable. By the time the food arrived I didn’t even want to eat. The summer and David’s roll was OK. The cucumber for the summer roll was a bit too thick which made it hard to eat. We also ordered octopus sushi and uni. You would think the uni and octopus would come first but it arrived last. An order of octopus was only one octopus sushi, typically they come in twos. Overall disappointed and still in Search of a good sushi restaurant.

The price was great for delicious food. Roomy with modern music and quick service. Michigan themed foods too. The udon soup dinner was a rich blend of distinct flavors, including shrimp, egg, fish, green onion, and more. Additional soup and salad served on the side. The chicken teriyaki was a pleasant surprise. Not breaded with sautéed onions, picked cabbage, rice and veggies.

My new favorite place when I feel like getting some great sushi. There really isn’t any place in the area that can beat the prices they offer. Don’t be fooled by thinking cheap sushi = poor quality. That is not the case at all! They specialize in some of the fancier types of sushi(Volcano roll, etc). Basically stuff covered in mayo and hot sauce toppings, but they also have a great fresh selection of hand, regular rolls and Nigiri sushi. I personally can do without all the fancy rolls and go for the raw fish Nigiri sushi. Try the Jack Mackerel. It will blow your mind! A reasonably priced sushi house that doesn’t lack on the quality is all I ask for and Sushi House fits the bill. Give it a try!

My favorite place for sushi in the Detroit area. I remember this place when it was really small and before they renovated and expanded — so amazing, and definitely a sign of how a lot of other people must be visiting this place. Lots of roll selections, but also I love the fact they also have«Tofu House» next door so you can also order off of their menu if you’re looking for some Korean to go with your sushi. We had ordered four different rolls last time I was here — including the spicy tuna, rainbow, david’s roll, and summer roll. I love the David’s roll because it’s a spicy tuna roll but also topped with more fish and spicy mayo, but then also seaweed salad and fish roe — literally all of my favorite things in one roll. The fish is usually pretty fresh tasting — although I never order sashimi unless I’m on a coast, so to be fair, I’m eating fru-fru rolls at this place, but they’re delicious. Service is usually always good and sushi takes about average time to be created and brought to the table. If I’m not mistaken, they usually also bring out some miso and salad before the sushi to quell your hunger.

It’s been a while since we’ve been here, and the last few times we were on the tofu side of the restaurant, but recently, I came back with a few friends and rediscovered how great the sushi is at Sushi House! This time, I went with their Nabeyaki Udon($ 10.95) and Dragon Roll($ 9.95). Both were good, but I still felt the Dragon Roll was better. Tightly rolled, fresh avocado, and nicely dressed eel. Nothing was overdone, and the pieces were cut evenly. Great job to the sushi chef who crafted our order. You can tell it was prepared with pride. Nabeyaki udon was pretty good, but I didn’t feel the broth was that well-developed. Still tasty in its own right, but it could have had a more umami flavor to it. Tempura shrimp was a measly one piece, and it didn’t have that light and flaky texture I was looking for. The natural sweetness of the shrimp was nonexistent, indicating that it probably was old. Other than that, I enjoyed my udon. Good portion, in fact, enough for two people to share. We rounded out the evening with tempura ice cream. I enjoyed it, but I’ve had better. Outer shell wasn’t crispy enough and kinda lukewarm. I prefer it to be hot so when you bite into it, you get that contrast of hot and cold that is oh so refreshing! :) Staff was nice and friendly. We would gladly come back again. Definitely try their sushi. that’s their strong point.

I love trying out new sushi places and this was by far one of the bigger sushi restaurants I’ve been to in the area. Booths along the side, two tops, four tops pushed together, and a sushi bar that fits at least 12 people? Definitely a sizable place. What was more impressive was how quickly this place filled up, even on a random weekday. Sushi house is essentially the Siamese sister of tofu house which is located right next door and can be accessed through the back corridor where the bathrooms are. I can only Assume the kitchen runs through both spaces. They give you menus for both restaurants and I love options so this is not a bad thing whatsoever! I always start off with their house salad. The dressing is some kind of black sesame paste, slight peanut buttery mirin concoction which is amazing, and a nice change of pace from the traditional ginger dressing. Their takoyaki balls are presented beautifully, and there is an ample amount for sharing. The only problem I had was that they didn’t come out hot, and the inside was mushier than I would normally like. It also could’ve used a bit more sauce considering the portion size. What I’m always impressed by is the quality of their fish. It’s always cut impeccably, tastes fresh, and the rice is seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. Their unagi and tamago are my personal favorites, and their rice bowls are never a let down. Overall, their food is consistently delicious and I highly recommend trying it out.

I hate to go from a 5 star review to a 2 star review. Haven’t been able to get around to updating my review but this is for my most recent visit when I was in town. I picked this place to go have lunch with my friend who also used to love this place but we were let down. The rolls were not the same like it used to be. Or maybe my taste buds have changed since trying all of the best sushi in SoCal. I ordered the House Special and oh my god it was horrible. The imitation crab was very dry and the roll underneath it(looks like a caterpillar roll) was even worse! The eel was dry, not fresh and the avocado wasn’t ripe. Everything about that was so bland. Didn’t taste anything but dry sushi in my mouth. The Mountain Roll. is something I could easily make it home. I don’t know how something so simple used to taste so good in my mouth but I could make the roll for way less. The Lion King roll was the best roll out of all the three rolls I ordered. Everything was so tasteless that we ended up taking everything to-go for my friends boyfriend and when we bought it home he couldn’t even finish it because the fresh fish flavor was no there. All of their rolls had tons of imitation crab. I can’t believe that I used to think that this place was one of better sushi place in Michigan! THERICEWASTHEWORSEPART. You can tell if sushi is good through the rice texture and unfortunately the rice texture was very, VERY dry. After trying sushi everywhere else it’s not the same. I’ll just stick to sushi in SoCal where the fish is directly imported from Japan and fresh on the same day.

Came here with some coworkers for lunch and we had a boatload of sushi, cause that’s how we roll! Like many others have mentioned the fish here is very fresh and the sushi is very good although I haven’t had any other sushi places in the area. It was a little weird to me that the nigiri was room temperature since I’m used to the fish being cold or at least a little bit chilled. The Wasabi here is also a little weak so you need to use a decent amount to mix with your soy sauce. Some of the rolls we got were the: spider roll, Michigan roll, sexy roll, salmon roll, red tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri and a few other items. All were very good other than the nigiri being room temperature!
