Applebee’s

Waitress was outstanding. Did everything to make sure order was correct and checked in often.

On a recent visit to STL, I stayed with friends and offered to take them anywhere they wanted for dinner as a thank you. They chose Applebees. We all got steaks which were actually not bad. They all came out exactly as ordered and we ate every last bite. I don’t think I’d been to an Applebees in years but it was a fun visit.

Applebees always leaves something to be desired. The staff seems unmotivated at this location and the food is usually okay. I never get steaks from here anymore. Usually aren’t cooked properly and they only offer sirloins.

Had a good experience on a Saturday night. We all basically had sodas and desserts. I had one of those little shooter desserts. I like how clean the place looked. Good appropriate music playing. I’d come here again. Good job folks.
I must add that often when we walk into a restaurant that isn’t busy, the restaurant often looks in disarray. But this restaurant was very well organized, very clean. The chairs were pushed in underneath the tables. The bar chairs were organized and looked inviting. The manager was visible. He ran some food. He checked on a few tables. He easily could have been hiding in his office during the slow time, but he wasn’t, he was visible. I like that all of the stuff is no longer on the walls. I felt that that gave the restaurant a cluttered appearance. Without it all, the place looks much cleaner.

So yea all the terrible reviews about this awful place are true. The food sucks, I pity the people that work here, and it just sucks… okay. Look, if you want to be disappointed, go to this place. I hate that I ever knew this place existed.

Horrible… even by chain restaurant standards. Tiny little steaks and portions, cooks that cannot cook s steak to correct temps, very bad service.

Ugh, I reluctantly came here for a niece’s birthday party and I had my expectations so low, I thought I might be pleasantly surprised. Nope.
This place is so dated it is right out of Office Space. it is time to put some of the wall art on a garage sale. I used to work at an Applebee’s in college and it looks no different from when I worked at one 15 years ago. The place just felt dirty and crammed and that night it was really stuffy in there.
I got the ribs, not the fake riblets and a side of fried and slaw. The ribs were completely opposite of falling off the bone. I felt like a squirrel trying to nibble the meat off the bone. I really don’t like my meat falling apart, but I do like being able to retrieve it. Not only was it hard to get the meat off the bones, but there was very little to be had. Then they try to cover up their sorry excuse for ribs with an ultra sticky sweet BBQ sauce that you could clean up with a spoon.
The fries were not redeeming. Cold and soggy. The slaw was warm and so on and so on. Thankfully I was dragged here and didn’t come on my own accord, then I would have really been pissed at myself. Perhaps there are still some decent items on the menu, but I will unlikely ever find out.

This place is horrible. I went with a friend here for lunch and the food was not good at all and the portion size was so small I was starving when I left. The place smelled gross and felt dirty. I will never go back there. Apple bees used to be so good not its a dump.

I came here with the parents after some shopping at a nearby Wal-​Mart for lunch. Having a sensitive GI tract with lots of dietary no-no’s, I thought I ordered something that would be okay. I ordered a French Dip sandwich without cheese & butter on the bun. When the food came, there was a smidge of cheese on the plate & the cheese was also on a tiny part of the sandwich. Tis cool, I thought. I just picked off the cheese. The fries were heavily drenched in salt. Yuck! After finishing my meal, the GI tract growled even though I took a fat digestion pill with my meal. Uh-​oh. Luckily I live close by (about a 15 minute drive). When I got home, the GI tract spewed like an angry volcano. Not fun. This is about the second time I’ve had trouble with Applebee’s food. Maybe it’s me or it’s the food. Service was great though.

At this type of restaurants you’ll often find young, naïve and overconfident kids as servers. So, taken away the annoyance of being served by one (not that he was bad, he was just … Ignorant/​Silly), we had a good experience at this Applebee’s which was one of my all-​time least favorite places to eat. It has easily been 3 – 4 years since I last visited an Applebee’s and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the appetizers we ordered today. The sangria was pretty darn good too. We happened to walk in some type of happy hour and got he apps for half off. Even better! Based in today’s experience, I would totally consider visiting again.
