Fantastic food and service. Not dilute why all the gripes about the $ 4 chips and salsa, ours was free.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night, and everything was solid. Really enjoyed the carnitas special, as well as the margaritas. FYI– if you order Mexican dishes, chips and salsa are indeed free of charge(they have a substantial menu of other items, including pizza and sandwiches, which do NOT come with free chips. Makes perfect sense to me). I award an extra star for the excellent service early on a Sunday morning– as an Arsenal fan, I am always looking for places to watch EPL matches when away from my local pub… The Arroyo opens at 7am and happily turned on the bar TV and offered breakfast service at the bar for my girlfriend and I. Recommended for anyone else looking to catch an early morning weekend match! Thanks again!

This place is amazingly good. Having eaten Mexican food all over the US, this place is a gem. Everything is fresh and tastes wonderful.

Excellent breakfast! Excellent service. We had the breakfast burritos, which were fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!

Don’t go! We enjoyed the salsa and beer the most. Our refried beans were not tasty and had a strange gray hue. Overall, everything was runny. The presentation was poor. The margarita was nothing to write home about. But, the service was good.

Too expensive and food was marginal at best. Also, what kind of Mexican restaurant charges $ 4.95 for chips and salsa. Yikes. It wasn’t a good sign to be the only one’s in there on a Friday afternoon either. Tip: Looking for decent Mexican food in Door County… Try La Puerta(JJ’s) in Sister Bay. Better food, better prices. Sorry to give this review, but surviving off of naïve tourists(I am not one) isn’t a good business model.

Great place to stop with the family. Food was good, wait staff was attentive, and the had a nice menu variety for the whole family.

This isn’t gourmet Mexican, but it’s good Mexican. Definitely recommend the ‘fire grilled’ entrees. Kind of a Mex/Barbecue fusion. They should expand on these. ‘Build your own’ Margarita is a fun option.

Poor quality food and expensive at that. Here’s why: 1) Chips and salsa are $ 4.95. And they’re out of a bag. 2) Chicken fajitas are supposed to have their chicken made one way — a grilled chicken breast cut into slices. This was«white meat» chicken but like the kind you get in mediocre chinese restaurants with the bits of fat and tendons hanging off of it. and in small pieces no less. just bad quality. 3) fajitas don’t come out on a skillet, just a plate. yes that’s picky, but an example of missing details. 4) i went with 8 others; no one said there’s was good, but all agreed it was«serviceable.» yuck.

Complimentary tortilla chips were out of a bag and the salsa was what I call gringo salsa. First time my wife and I have been served fajitas not served separately on a sizzling cast iron skillet. The plate was ¾ rice and canned«Mexican beans». Service was minimal, only seeing the waitress and her trainee when she took the order, delivered the«meal» and brought the check. All in all a bland experience. Hardly«authentic» as advertised.

Great selection of items. The Mexican was very good. Veggie wrap was freshly made. Will be back again.

Desperate for take out pizza which led us to trying this place. They said they make their crust from scratch. It’s very clear that they don’t. It was very cardboard like. I would say this place is a little bit better than a five dollar pizza from Domino’s. That said, it costs way more than a cheapo pizza from Domino’s. Save your money and go to the grocery store instead for a better frozen pizza. The pizza could be a lot better. Disappointed.

Food is decent, the service is attentive & quick and the place is clean. I get it, they’re a mom & pop restaurant trying to have a menu that covers all the bases. Good place to go with the family. For those that trashed this place because you were expecting authentic Mexican food fair, take a chill pill. One look at the menu should have been your cue this isn’t Mexican fine dining. Just a nice clean family establishment. My only suggestion is more cilantro & a lime for the fish tacos would be nice. Salsa was tasty!

Went here for breakfast and dinner last week. In each case the food was very good. I’m glad that Fish Creek now has a Mexican restaurant, as we go up there a few times a year. Having met the owner, I’m pulling for them to make it, but I wonder if the menu is trying to do too much. I’d rather have a few great items than a number of average ones. By the way, the margaritas were excellent.

Waiting for the crowds to leave to try this place. My first concern was that they should be a Mexican restaurant but you can get pizza, fried chicken, lasagna or a Friday night fish fry. Anything on the Mexican menu is $ 12.95 or $ 13.95. So you can get tacos for $ 13.95OR Fajitas for the same price. See anything wrong here? I had the chicken enchiladas for 13.95. They came with beans and rice. Nothing was fresh, from scratch or memorable. Serving size was 2 enchiladas, a lot of beans and rice. Their margaritas are from a mix and Meh. Service was good and the food came quickly but there were only 2 tables filled on a Friday night at 7pm. I really wanted to like this place but they have no kitchen talent and serve food that came prepared from Sysco. Better chips, margs and Mexican at JJ’s and the chicken enchiladas and other Mexican items at Husbys are much better. Won’t be back.

We wanted to try this place out because it was new and we love Mexican food. Unfortunately, we left wishing we had gone somewhere else. First of all, they do not have a drink menu. This is a Mexican restaurant, and they don’t even have a margarita on the menu, but they do have lasagna? Fine, I ordered a Mexican beer instead. Then, if you want chips and salsa, be prepared to pay for them. $ 5. The salsa is good, the chips are store bought. Again, disappointing. I ordered the enchiladas acapulco, which were supposed to have shrimp and crab in them, it was very minimal. My husband ordered a chimichanga and it was the smallest one I have ever seen. The food is very average. There are many wonderful restaurants in Door County. We will not be back.

My husband and I had dinner here prior to a DCA performance(excellent location to the auditorium). I ordered the chicken fajitas and they were outstanding. The meat was moist and flavorful and the veggies were cooked to perfection. I enjoyed having my choice of corn or flour tortillas. The rice that was served with my meal was disappointing. It was of the«quick» cooking variety so it not only lacked texture, but also flavor. My husband ordered the taco salad and it was just the average fare of veggies, meat and cheese served in a deep fried flour tortilla. Our server was young but pleasant and attentive.

Very family friendly and able to accommodate a very large group. Good pizza and good Mexican food. Ask for light oregano on the pizza! Fish tacos were quite good, as were the enchiladas. Margaritas are excellent. Good service, really trying hard to please. We then ordered pizza in later on the vacation. We had plain cheese, Hawaiian, and meat, all excellent. The owner remembered us and were glad to have us «return.»

The mexican food here was surprisingly good. The frijoles(beans) were very good and were homemade, the spanish rice was outstanding too. We ordered several different plates of enchaladas(cheese, chicken, shredded beef) all were very good. Margareta was pretty tasty. We did have a cheese pizza that was ordered as well, the pizza I would rate as just okay, the crust wasn’t that good. For desert, the fried cheese cake was awesome, I’d order that again for sure. The only things I’d say are negatives were, we did order cheese curds as an appetizer, those never came and had to take them off the order because the food came. The other thing, is it is pretty pricey for mexican food. I would recommend this place if in the area, however expect the prices to be on the high side. We went pretty late in the day, so it wasn’t crowded at all, there were only three other tables with people there.

Even though the restaurant was clean and the people were friendly, the food was not of good quality. I ordered the shrimp fajitas. The shells were torn and also tore easily. The shrimp was seasoned good and the rice and beans were also good, but for the price I could get the same rice and bean El Azteca. My husband ordered carne asada taco and the meat was VERY tough. If you go to Fish Creek, do not bother to stop.
