Delicious food! Really great service. One wish: itemize a bill instead of just giving one total.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. I always get the half spicy gyro luch special with cucumber sauce and lentil soup on the side. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves gyros. I’ve had lentil soup from a few different places, but this place has been the best so far.

It’s not the prettiest place. It is basic décor, your not going for that. I had walked in here before, but did not eat. The menu is fairly limited in options and that’s why I did not eat there the first time. I placed an ordered to go for ½ lamb sharwana sandwich and small Greek salad. It did not take more than about 15 minutes to get my order. From the waiting location right in front the cash register, you can see right into the kitchen. It’s a simple kitchen and one cook with one server. When I got home the sandwich was simply wrapped in foiled and still piping hot. But I don’t live far away. The sandwich was full and topped with the house sauce of yogurt and cucumbers. The salad was simple with cucumbers, green olives and tomato slices. It was served with a side of house dressing. The house dressing was olive oil based with spices, and a little vinegar. It was delicious on the salad. The lamb sharwana was seasoned pretty well and tasted great. I will be going back to try some more items.

Recently remodeled(?) apparently Jordanian owned judging by the décor, with exceptionally catchy Arabic 120BPM dance/house rounding out the ambience. Made me want to get up and dance although at lunch hour by myself it would be a little weird. Gyros are generously filled with an OK tzatziki sauce and served restaurant sit down style. I usually get a side of hummus which is presented VERY nicely and served with a generous amount of pita bread. It is an awful lot to eat for a lunch so just get the regular size and you should be fine. Usually around $ 12 with tip for lunch.

I enjoyed this. I ordered the veggie gyro and I can’t remember what it tasted like because I literally gobbled it down so fast… Oops. That’s how you know it was good. Very nice inside and plenty of seating. Reasonable wait time and prices.

Terrible service. You don’t get what you order. Go somewhere else. I didn’t get what I ordered(spicy gyros) and they blamed it on me(it’s spicy, just not spicy enough for YOU). But I’ve had the spicy there, and this wasn’t it. He said that next time he will give me some cayenne pepper to put on it, but if I wanted to make it myself, I wouldn’t spend $ 10 per gyro. What a joke. And what is worse is that this is my second time with the same problem.

Spicy Gyro was good, a bit on the greasy side, but good. Gyro had a nice spice to it, I would have liked more heat. I probably will check another place for my next gyro.

Came here on a whim! We arrived to an empty place… probably not the hit place to go to on a friday evening for the younger folks but I’ve always enjoyed trying out new places and tasting new cuisines. I ordered the beef shawarma and really enjoyed it! It is my opinion that the quality and quantity of food was perfect for the price. Our server was helpful and friendly but he was not very observant of our needs and we had to ask him to refill our drinks despite the fact that there where no other guests. If your expecting a server that will wine and dine you, this place is probably not the place for you. Regardless, I would definitely come back to this place!

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and had a late night craving for some gyros. I came in after 8pm on a Sunday night. The open sign was off and it looked fairly dark inside, but I looked up the hours to make sure they were open before driving there. It said they’re open until 9pm on Sundays, but they actually close at 8pm. I opened the door. They were kind enough to make my order, which was a small order of baba ghanouj and a whole order of spicy gyros. The food was delicious and the guys were very nice.

Great location, food, and service. Prices are reasonable given the portion sizes. We typically get the gyros sandwich(which can be ordered in half size or whole size) for an entrée and the saganaki as an appetizer. They have traditional gyros and a «spicy gyros» option. No clue if the gyros is prepared on a spit, since the kitchen isn’t visible from the dining area. I always order extra tzaziki sauce for my gyros, and have really acquired a taste for how Sam’s prepares it with large, fresh cucumber chunks in it.

Stopped in today and had the lunch special. It was real good. The wife had a half gyro w/hummus special add the veggies but never received the veggies. The atmosphere was nice when we got there but turned for the worst when a family came in with spoiled whining son and let him act up the entire time we were there. The service was pretty quick and the gentleman serving seemed pretty nice. All in all I give it a thumbs up.

Ate lunch there today. Food was ok but the waitress look kind of angry and rude and she wasn’t coming back to check on us. I’m not sure if the one in Kessler by same owner but I like it there better. They more friendly than this location.

Very good felafel pita sandwich(with cucumber sauce). The somewhat high price, for a half or full sandwich, is what holds it back from being a 5 star, in my opinion.

Food was delicious, décor was fantastic, and the staff was as helpful as they could be. Maybe it’s because we didn’t go during lunch time, but I didn’t have a problem with the staff. I guess if you want a pleasant experience and good food, try dinner.

The food here is average, making the weak service all the more difficult to overlook. Every time I’ve been in there, I’ve always felt like I’m interrupting something. It’s a bizarre feeling. I’ve stood at the counter watching employees chat, I’ve had them look at me in awkward silence, and the last time I clearly interfered with a World Cup game. Though I tend to get cravings for gyros quite frequently, I find myself resisting the urge to stop. Then when I do, I wind up, after eating half, wondering why the craving was even there. Bad? No… just not great. I’d say the food is 3 stars but the service is 1. Sadly, the service should be the easiest part. This isn’t rocket science.

I have been going to Sam’s gyros for a while. Just when you think they couldn’t get any better they did. Sam’s on 96th is under new ownership! The newly renovated restaurant is more intimate and ideal for both small and large groups. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The food is delicious. I love the chicken shawirma and the spana! If you haven’t tried sams yet your missing out on delicious Greek food!

My 19 Y/O daughter comes here sometimes with her friends so she recommended I try it with her. We went at about noon on a weekday. The place was about 2⁄3 full of customers. Took several minutes to be acknowledged by the server staff. I told my daughter, «one more minute and I’m walking out of here.» I don’t want to be mean, but let’s just say the wait staff seems to be rather spaced out and inattentive. Ordered a couple of lamb gyros with cucumber sauce. Not bad. Lamb meat seasoned OK. My daughter thought they were having an «off» day with the cucumber sauce. Hummos. Not bad. Spanokapitas. OK. Meh. Over all, I was not particularly impressed. Will I return? Probably not. Yats is close by. I’ll stick with that when I’m in the mood for something spicy.

Hummus is delicious. Bread served with hummus fresh, tender, and delicious. Lamb Gyro, fabulous as well as the homemade cucumber sauce. This is my 2nd visit in 2 months and both times food was excellent. Atmosphere nothing to write about since it is located in a typical small strip center. But who’s looking for atmosphere when it is not fine dining you are looking for. The place is clean, easy to get to, and did I mention the good is wonderful. If you are a fan of the traditional Greek gyro, you will not be disappointed.

average gyro place with a decent menu. they have the standard fare ie. gyros, shawarma etc. The taste of the food is pretty acceptable. it does have a great tzatziki sauce and the pita bread is warm and well cooked. I would love this place and rate it higher if the meat marination was tastier. Once again one of the many options on 96th street to grab a quick bite if you work in that area or want to get something quick and cheap to eat that is not a chain. not a place you crave for, but not trying to avoid either
