Smashburger

Food is decent, nothing spectacular. Customer service is always a miss. Generally not friendly and always mess up an order. Have had to go back in to correct the order. Also slow service, granted I think they were short staffed so I felt bad for the one teenage girl running every table. I keep giving them a chance but am dissapointed every time. Personally wish it was a Five Guys as I live close by.

Not only does this location routinely close early, I’ve been at the door at 9:50 and it’s locked. But most recently I called ahead to order, at which time I was told they do not take orders over the phone, and it was too late for the online system, but if I made it there by 10pm I’d be able to order. It was 9:50, I said I’d be there in 5 minutes no problem. I was at the door at 9:53 and it was locked. Workers were still inside so I thought whomever I spoke to would come to the door and let me in. But they just looked at each other and ignored me. Then the lights went off. I’ll never spend my money or waste my time at a place that has customer service like that. Imagine how careless they are with your food if that’s how they think of you as a customer. Bottom of the barrel!

I’ve had Smashburger at other locations and have always had good burgers. This location must have run out of butter, salt, and flavor. I got a classic today and it was horrible.

So unfortunately this place needs to get their act together. Slow/​bad service with a lack of organization. Some numbers being used, some signs, but mainly not. So servers have no idea where they are going. They are trying to get things out quickly and maybe a little TOO quickly. My chicken sandwich was raw inside to the point I had to send it back. And I NEVER send things back. Hubby’s food was good though but he almost didn’t get his shake until after he finished his sandwich. Come on guys, get it together.

Razor thin burger patties. Over all just ok. Restaurant has too much of a cold industrial feel to it. Service is fast and courteous. Once in a while they have good coupons.

Food is usually excellent. Service on Sunday afternoon was lethargic. The kid taking orders seemed to have marbles in his mouth he mumbled so quietly. They seemed to be untrained or short staffed. Or both. Edit: Oh, and the goat cheese was left off my goat cheese burger. I ordered my food to go. That was not expected when I unpacked my food at work. I hope management fixes these problems. The couple behind me waited over 20 minutes for two vanilla milkshakes.

This staff at this restaurant could not care less about you. I went there for dinner around 6:30 on a Saturday. Half the tabled had chairs up on them (presumably because the staff didn’t want to clean at the end of the night). The zombie who took our order did not give us cups and despite being 2 of the 4 people in the restaurant (and had walked away for less than 20 seconds) he had to scrutinize our receipt to make sure we ordered our drinks like we were pilfering fountain beverages.
Other than that, the food is smashburger food and it’s pretty good. But honestly I would rather go anywhere else due to the treatment. Like, I get it, you hate your job but at least fake it for customers.

It’s painful to have to give this place three stars because it has great food. The staff is horrendous, however. I would fire every single one of them. As we stood at the register actually saying «we’re ready to order» we were told to «hold on» because the woman had to finish her conversation about her weekend plans with one of the guys standing at the kitchen window.
Otherwise, the food is great, tasty, a little on the salty end so if you don’t like things salty go with the chicken but it’s not terribly salty it’s a good flavor.
Fries are great too, sometimes come out a little less than hot but overall are good.

Wow! Hands down the worst lunch I had in a long time; not just the worst salad, the worst overall experience.
If I were the owner or the manager of this place, I would replace every single one of the employees who were working this afternoon. Not one was motivated, groomed, or showed an ounce of care about what they do.
We went there at 12:30pm and the line was getting longer and longer. Only one register open right in the middle of lunch rush??? After about 15min just to get our chance to order our food to a guy who was half asleep and completely oblivious to the growing line, we get our number. By the way, 10min into our wait, a random guy came out of the kitchen with his huge afro braids completely loose, scratching his head (really unappetizing in my opinion), and then started calling «next» only to disappear as the customers approached to order.
After about 15more minutes, two of the three orders are delivered to our table. One order was simply sitting waiting and waiting to be delivered for the next 17min (yes, I timed it). What kind of service is this??? There is a reason people go out to lunch in a group… to enjoy a meal together. Please train your servers to have some common sense, let alone serving skills.
Now the food part. My salad came all mushed up, totally submerged in what I sensed was the dressing. It was simply nasty and almost inedible. The so called buffalo fries were equally poor, just a ball of overly seasoned and salty stuff… if at least it came hot off the oil, but not even.
I looked around and I thought to myself, this is one place that I will never ever set foot again and will never recommend to anyone. How and why are these people even employed… anywhere, much less at a restaurant where they should show some level of basic attentiveness, customer service, and YES… some personal hygiene.
I am curious to know if there is a manager or owner who actually cares or sees any of this stuff going on at this place! If this were my business, I would certainly care unless I was planning on shutting the place down.
Wow Wow Wow!!! Just terrible!

Used to be a good burger. Last year or so they changed the meat. Now just a salty preservative filled dried out hot tiny non beefy patty.
Not coming to ANY smash burgers till they get a real beef patty

I like this Smashburger. They stay on top of keeping tables clean, and the service is friendly. On a recent trip I had the spicy jalapeño Baja grilled chicken sandwich. I inhaled it. Very tasty with just the right amount of heat. Along with a drink, the total was ten dollars. Not cheap, but I feel appropriate for the freshness of the meal. Next time I’ll try the fries gratis as I plan to complete the survey on the bottom of my receipt. Smart marketing to get me to come back. Gotta love it.

This is definitely one of the better locations for this chain. It is clean and tables are readily available. I’ve been to a couple other locations where the seats have crumbs and grease spots on them and the tables have not been cleaned that it’s very hard to find a place to sit. Even the burgers and fries cooked here taste better than the other locations and the burgers are less messy to eat. I usually get the smashburger without the smashsauce on an onion bun. The bread here is always fresh and their chef actually assembles your burger pretty nicely so that it’s not as messy when you eat it. Food comes out in a timely manner. Only problem I have here is that the floors have kind of a greasy slippery feel to them… maybe they need a new mop or something? This chain location is as good as it gets… I enjoy my food and dining experience here more than I do at almost any other burger restaurant.

Great burgers and salad. Had lunch there today with 2 friends and I had the Jersey Burger. Cooked perfectly! One in my party had the Cobb and loved it. There were no leftovers. Service was fast and despite it being lunch hour, the wait was short and seating plenty. Definitely a must-​have on your lunch choices if you are in or near Florham Park.

The best place in town for a burger. Michael, the manager, always greets you with a smile. The staff is friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean and bright. Chicken sandwiches are great and salads are good as well.

The food here is pretty good. I always get the grilled chicken, mushroom and Swiss sandwich with truffle oil and a side of smash fries. Smash fries have truffle oil and Rosemary and they are amazing. There is always a coupon at the bottom of your receipt that if you complete, you will get a free order of smash fries. It’s a good place to get lunch to go as well, the lines normally move quickly here. Friendly service.

First time to this location. Less crowded at this time of the day, expect prompt service. Mostly the salads this time the year. Well done, decently generous portion, pricey, but worth it. Maybe I should have stayed to eat in rather than take out. I ate pretty fast, but i didn’t miss any ingredients, the spinach was abundant and the goat cheese as well as the cucumber was evenly dispersed. Recommend Smash anytime, any town — stay healthy my friends

This wasn’t my first time at Smashburger, but the first time eating it in a long time since living in Chicago… so taking the first bite from a burger I got here felt like heaven.
They always make the burgers after you order them at all of the Smashburgers and I like the fact that their burgers are not super greasy like some other restaurants who make burgers on the spot for you (for example, Steak N Shake).
This place is pretty pricey (for burgers), but I’d say it’s worth the price. The burgers are HUGE, even the small size, and I never finish it. I’ve had almost every burger that they have to offer but this time, I got the Spicy Baja burger. It was so SPICY but so good! They put a little bit too much guacamole on it for me and I had to take some of the jalepenos out lol I obviously couldn’t handle the spiciness of the burger but the flavor was good!
My husband is a burger lover and tends to always order something different every time we go anywhere except for at Smashburger. Every time we go here, he orders the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger. He’s super crazy about it. He orders the large burger and ends up being stupid full by the end of the meal.
The Smashfries are the bomb. The rosemary/​garlic/​olive oil mixture they put on it is like no other. I probably will never go back to this location just because I was just visiting the area, but this definitely won’t be my last time going to Smashburger!

Service is really inconsistent every time I go. Food is good, but they need to improve cust service

So ive never come to a smash burger until now because i’ve always felt the idea of smashing a burger on the grill is grilling sacrilege, but i’ve been curious,
So after my original lunch plans were cancelled, i decided to give this place a try.
The inside is pretty nice, its clean. The staff seemed really friendly. The menu was simply enough were you don’t need to divine your order. Personally they have sweet potato fries so that’s a plus.
When we sat down with our drinks, my friend and i were chatting, the guy who was ringing people up came around to all the tables, there was no one at the registers, and asked if anyone needed anything. Very nice of them. Then when we got our meals they asked again, and a third time, when the manager came out to see how our meals were and if we needed anything.
That’s the kind of service i expect at an upscale establishment. So it was a pleasant surprise to get it here.
Food was pretty good too, i would come back again or try the one closer to home.
