The food is very good. It takes less than a minute for them to serve us with the food. The price is reasonable. Most of them are below $ 10. However, I do not like the workers there. They are so loud, condescending, and rude. They yell at each other and sometimes mind customers business. Also the seating is pretty limited.

Yes, the kal sujaebi is not very photogenic due to the micro-bead looking black sesame particles. However, my mom LOVES it. It might possibly be one of her favorite things to eat outdoors. It is simple and a very traditional Korean food. Got this for my mom when she got sick and lost all appetite, it actually showed improvement as soon as she finished! Haha it is amazing. However, personally I am NOT a fan of this, I have tried other foods and it was good. Kind of surprising to find well-made food in a sideshop of supermarket! Run by adults/elderly cooks so it has a sense of original cooking instead of the«lets just add MSG and it’ll taste good method»

I love this place so much. Everything is delicious here. Cheap and delicious korean street food. I’m here at least once a month. Small kimchi stew feeds two people. Whenever I’m around the area I have to pick up some rice cakes(dukbukki). They have an English menu but don’t expect English speaking staff. Just point and order. Super friendly staff, best kept secret in Queens.

I found three rats crawling around while eating. The owner didn’t even apologize. I’m never going back here

Cheap hole-in-the-wall Korean restaurant behind the supermarket. It’s a bit small so try not to bring too many people here. Also bring a Korean friend with you to read the menus on the wall because I feel like i’m missing out on their bomb selections cause I can’t read it… Their corndogs are my go-to snack here, hot, crispy, and served fresh. They offer other great things here such as deep fried dumplings(mandoo), dukbokki which is a spice rice cake kind of dish, ramen and different types of soups. All-in-all great comfort food.

A super discrete hole in the wall eatery that’s opened all night offering delicious authentic korean street foods? I’m in there like swimwear. This place is a place that definitely deserves more attention than it gets.(although the late night korean drinking crowd certainly knows of this place) tucked away in the corner of the entrance of Hangyang super market, this place offers a wide variety of quality street foods at twilight hours. I’ve been here twice and so have had the spicy chicken gizzard, fermented skate with horse radish, and the sauteed spicy pork. The gizard was average if not mediocre, but the other two dishes I had were definitely noteworthy The fermented skate with horseradish is definitely on the list of the more bizarre and interesting foods I’ve ever had. Though the smell of amoena wafted around my nose and was pretty hard to bare at times, the flavor combination with the fish the horseradish and soysauce worked all in compliments of one another! the horseradish did a fantastic job of overpowering and overtaking the bizarre fermented smell, which then allowed the taste buds to focus on the incredibly savory and umami filled flavor of the fish, clean and full of flavor I would definitely recommend this dish for the more adventerous eater The spicy pork, which is something that I get regularly at all fast casual korean eateries that I go to. This place has one of the best versions I’ve ever had. Intensely spicy(which I love) with a great combination of savory, sweet mixed in with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and carmalized onions and jullianed carrots, the combinations of flavors were incredible and tasted incredible intense with no one flavor overpowering the other with the subtle hint of sesame to wrap all the flavors together, definitely a must when you’re here. the only reason why this place gets a knock off of a star was due to the soapy tasting complimentary soup I received the last time I was here. It DEFINITELY churned my stomach a bit and made me wonder about the sanitary conditions here… if you’re not washing out the bowls properly I wonder what other sanitary measures they’re skimping out on… anyway great place to go to for quality late night eats!

I’ve always knew of this place because of shopping at the Han yang super market. It is truly a hidden jewel. The food an atmosphere here is very homely. I am totally in love with their hand cut noodles which has a nice chewy texture. Their korean fried hotdog is also a must try. It’s basically a fried corn dog but not as soft. The dumplings are shaped very cute and are tasty. It’s a nice place to eat if you want Korean soup based food or comfort food. They also make their own kimchi almond pickled radish strips. This place is definately a cheap eats place with great food.

My go to spot for super late night soondae, dukkbokki, and soondaeguk cravings! Open 24 hours inside the Hangyang Supermarket with plenty of parking late at night. Prices are fairly cheap but it is cash only. Food is usually delish and haven’t had a problem with their service yet. I normally get my food to go as the place is usually busy even late at night. I’m not sure if the ajusshi who is usually at the front taking orders speaks English. But, even if you don’t speak Korean I’m sure he will be more than willing to accommodate with some finger pointing at the menu or the food. Def a great place for a quick late night snack or a meal.

My other go to restaurant during off hours!!! Abundance in parking during the middle of the night! I love coming here and getting sulungtang or kalgooksoo when I’m sick and I’m off grocery shopping. They have corn dogs(idk why I loved their corn dog so much though) and the kimbab isn’t bad. Not a fan of their dukbokki but it’ll do… The banchan(side dishes) that comes with the sulungtang is amazing! It doesn’t take them long to get you your food either. Great drunk food too! My recommendations: Sulungtang Corndog Dukbokki if you must Kimbab Kalgooksoo

I stopped by this humble restaurant after shopping in Hang Yang market. This one is located inside of Hang yang Market. They have various kinds of simple food. I and my family members were hungry. We had Kalguksoo, dumpling, kimbap and dukbopki. They were good and so cheap. There were no waiter but the owner served food. He was efficient. I really liked the noodle in broth. The broth which seemed to be made of seafood and the noodle tasted very good. My family liked their stir fried dumpling and rice cake in hot spicy sauce. These were not fancy food but good enough to satisfy our hunger.

I love this place! A true hidden gem with authentic Korean food. I come here when my mom goes to Korea to feel like I’m getting a home cooked meal. Probably the best kimchi stew I’ve had(outside of my momma’s). If you want something less spicy, the tricolored noodle soup is delicious and unique to this place.

Very filling, very cheap. I bring my posse of starving teens and piss off the ajummas and ajusshis by taking ¾ of the spot. sorry~ Kind of cramped, but were you expecting a fancy restaurant in middle of a supermarket? Dining is a bit rushed due to the lack of space. Don’t expect great service cause you gotta go like the food– fast. When I say«going to hanyang» I mean eating here, not grocery shopping. Everybody should leave with at least a hot, delicious corndog in their mouths.(thats 2 bucks)

Love this place. Great cheap food that is delicious and most items made to order. They have a selection of fried foods which are all refried once you order, so it’s served hot and crispy. They have dukbokki and a ton of other korean foods. Definitely street vendor style as some other reviewers mentioned, but much cleaner than you’re probably imagining. Food was good and came out super quick. If you’re looking for a quick bite, this is the place to go.

Came here around 11pm after I got off work late with my hubby. I always enjoy their spicy rice cakes cuz it’s sweet and chewy and delicious However I was not impressed after this visit. We got naeng-myun, soondae(with intestines), ddukbokki, and o-deng. Their soondae is overpriced cuz they charge $ 10 if you get intestines too. The naeng myun also not cheap at $ 10 The only cheap ones are o-deng(fish cake soup) and ddukbokki(spicy rice cakes) but it wasnt great. The soup in o-deng tasted like SOAP… Like wtf … The soup is supposed to be the best part… The only decent thing was the ddukbokki. I should try other things on their menu. But customer service is nice, there’s usually this one ahjeossi working but he’s attentive and nice. Don’t get their o-deng! Gross!

The food was not bad, pretty standard Korean fare. However, service was horrible! It seemed like you order at the counter, however we were ignored for a good 5 minutes by the lady behind the counter. Finally we asked the guy standing at the front if he worked there, and he helped us order. Most food seemed to be pre-prepared in packages which they microwave. The ordering was very confusing because everything was only in Korean. And the servers were rude and unhelpful. They only accept cash. Very unhappy about the service.

Familiar, dirty and usually hits the spot perfectly. A no nonsense shack of a place, directly attached to the supermarket. They like for you to know what you’re going to order, the minute you enter — and no special requests accepted here. The menu is both extensive and simple — if you can imagine that. The dumplings, spicy rice cakes, ramen, and fried assortments are all staples. They sometimes have season goodies in the summer and winter which are yummy. I happen to really enjoy their hotdog on a stick — and then hate myself for a good 1.3 hours. There’s about 5 tables, seating about 6 people each. It is hot in the summer, cold in the winter. Water is self serve. Cash only. 24 hours. No bells and whistles!

What a cozy, charming little restaurant! Not only are the owners extremely generous(each and every time we asked what something was, they gave us a free sample), but the fresh and delicious food was incredibly cheap(4 large portions for $ 20!), and also the female manager(proprietress?) was surprisingly helpful and friendly and personable — at one point she started singing her favorite parts from Beethoven’s 5th(«Emperor») piano concerto.
