We’ve been ordering from them since they open years ago. To be around years in any NYC neighborhood already terms you it’s a good place. Quick delivery, anyways fresh food, reliable, friendly, delicious. My go-to sushi joint, when I’m ordering a nice bourgeois lunch for one. So good!

Not as the same as before, they changed pretty much everything. After the management change it’s different.

Management has changed for a while now and it’s abysmal. The person at the counter is rude and incompetent. I’ve dined in and ordered a lot less now. Service sucks. The guy is pretty nice. All the females are bitches. They’ve changed the spicy tuna roll to not having avocado or cucumber in it which sucks big time. It was the reason I loved it. Think I need a regular sushi spot.

5 stars! Amazing food from the sushi to the salads to the teriyaki which is still steaming and sizzling in front of your eyes. Everything is delicious and they serve you very fast. The waitress knows to bring the sriracha and never disappoints. I wish I could rate it higher great food great service!

My recent experience here was so horrific I felt compelled to write a review. Keeping in mind that this was a Chinese owned sushi place in Rego Park, I set my expectations low. There was nothing wrong with the waiter service, but the foundation of the restaurant is just all wrong. For the first time ever in a review I’m just gonna say it… the food was shi*. The age tofu looked like, tasted like, felt like BRICK. It was not served in a bowl with pieces soaking up the dashi broth. It was served on a PLATE with some extremely light sauce on the side and the starchy skin falling apart. The mushroom appetizer was undercooked and in a strange sweet soy sauce. Where did the butter and garlic go? With these two dishes, I thought to myself maybe their sushi bar will roll out better food than their kitchen(pun intended). Nothing wrong with giving them second chances. Oh, was I wrong. Their rolls with spicy tuna on top was so chopped, that the texture was like apple sauce and any tuna flavor was gone. I also had no idea why the salmon was such a highlighter orange color. Needless to say, I wanted to gag after eating two pieces. On top of this, it was an hour before closing, so they were cleaning up the sushi bar. As I glanced over due to all the giggling happening behind the bar, one of the chefs accidentally splashes dirty, cleaning water on a couple sheets of nori and the other chefs motion for him to just put them back… I felt sorry for the customers who would be getting the next coupla rolls…

I used to love this place but since management has changed, so did the restaurant. I kept coming back to force myself to give this place a 2nd, 3rd, 4th heck 10th chance but each time their food disappoints. Not only that, when ordering for take out over the phone, the staff was straight up rude shouting«What you want»… no manners what so ever. I’m not a sushi snot but when it comes to sushi, quality matters and unfortunately this place just doesn’t cut it. Sorry new management team, but you guys just suck!

Just ordered from this CRAPHOLE of a place a few hours ago and found a ROACH crawling around in my food. I didn’t know LIVEROACHES came with chicken teriyaki and sushi but apparently so for this establishment. I almost vomited at the sight of it because of how disgusting it was but managed to hold down my food because I was at work. Worst is I was starving, these people took an hour to deliver, and all I wanted was some fucking dinner that was edible. Not something with creepy crawlers in it! Never even heard of this place before but I saw it on seamless and ordered from there. DONOTEATHERE — THISISFREAKINGDISGUSTING

The sashimi/sushi is pretty fresh and the customer service is good. Not many places make sushi/maki with brown rice, but this place will make it for an additional $ 0.50 per roll. Delivery orders will take anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour. Overall, I am pleased with Sake Sushi and will keep coming back here as long as they keep up the quality of the food. Current favorites: Salmon sashimi, salmon avocado roll with brown rice, spicy salmon special roll, spicy yellow tail roll.

Monday’s are usually quiet. The subpar temperatures don’t help either. This is a must visit neighborhood joint with a great menu for lunch and dinner. Tonight we frequented for dinner. We had the tempura udon, nabe udon and salmon teriyaki. A lot of food for two, but it was cold and the staff was not judgy! All three entrees come with miso soup or salad. We had one miso soup and two salads. The miso soup had great flavor and depth. Chunks of tofu and seaweed at the bottom and fresh scallion sprinkled on top. The salad greens were fresh and crisp dressed in carrot ginger dressing. Tempura udon came with tempura shrimp and vegetables on the side to prevent sogginess. Noodles had great chew. Ditto with the nabe udon. That came in a cauldron and can easily feed two. There was cabbage, sprouts, chicken, egg, carrot and sprinkled with scallions too. The broth was hearty and rice for this cold evening. The salmon teriyaki came on a sizzling hot plate on a bed of onions soaked in delicious sauce and a side of white rice. The salmon skin was crispy. The fish filets moist. The onions cooked nicely. A great meal with great customer service.

I tend to not be impressed by sushi, but this little spot definitely deserves a good review. I admit the ambiance is very cozy and the furnishing isn’t too fancy, but I’m willing to overlook that for the really kinda staff that greeted us. The waiter was really patient and polite, despite my huge indecision on what to order. My boyfriend and I ended up getting a ginza roll(cooked salmon, mayo, and tempura flakes), a spicy salmon roll, a spicy kani roll, an eel avocado, spicy tuna, and east roll. I ordered ginza on a whim and I regret nothing from it! The cooked salmon was spiced and had great flavors in contrast to the sushi rice. All the rolls were nicely made, although a bit loose. There was a thin layer of rice for a whole lot of filling, which I appreciate, since some places skimp out on the filling by adding more rice. We also ordered the shumai katzu — another good choice. The ‘special’ sauce brought out the flavors really well(I think with hot sauce it’s even better). We were so pleased with our dinner so far we even treated ourselves to fried vanilla ice cream. Their outer crunch layer was so incredibly crispy! I expect to come back to this place and try more of their appetizers since there a lot of choices.

I kind of agree with the 3 stars. The place is kind of nice inside, but not fancy. It’s reasonably priced. Note that ice cream is $ 3 for two small scoops. The lunch deals come with one small scoop of ice cream; and a baby salad(iceberg) or miso soup. The lunch left me a bit hungry. I would try it again.

Food: Delicious! I ordered a bento box and they allowed me to make some small changes in the bento box from the lunc special so that was kind of them. It’s very very cheap! About $ 13 However, do not mistake that since it’s cheap it’ll be bad quality because that’s wrong! This is such a great sushi place, it’s high quality and delicious. Service: Great service, our food arrived quickly and the waiter made sure he got my complicated order correct lol. Anyway, 5 stars! Highly recommend this place to all sushi lovers!

A hidden little sushi spot in Rego park. how did I not know about this place after living in the area for so long? The moment you step in you’re greeted by a large fish tank with the cutest guppies you’ve ever seen. We were seated right away, served hot green tea and water(lemon in mine of course). The initial seating process really makes it or breaks it for me. I’m one of those people who enjoy the experience from the moment I enter a restaurant till the moment I leave. I have to say that my experience here was a positive one. The waitress was extremely polite, attentive and efficient at her job. The menu has a lot of variety even for the pickiest of eaters. Varying from soups, salads, appetizers, rice bowls, specialty & regular rolls, noodles and full course options. I believe anyone can step in here and leave satisfied for whatever their hunger level may be. Now for the food– I ordered a mushroom soup(huge portion for $ 5.50), a simple avocado roll($ 3.00) and a green tea ice-cream($ 3.00) which I told her to bring out at the same time as my meal: D I have to say my soup was seasoned to perfection, they weren’t stingy with the amount of mushrooms they used and it wasn’t too hot to eat from the moment she set it down in front of me! We had edamame beans to stare and they weren’t steaming hot or overly salted(again, another plus). My mother has a tuna tar tar salad with crunch & a salmon tempura roll(her two favorite options where ever she goes) and she was not let down. And then a family friend ordered 8 different pieces including yellow tail, salmon, shrimp and tuna.(A bit too raw for my liking) however she enjoyed it. For dessert, my mother decided to order a fried green tea ice-cream for herself and the way her eyes bulged out of her face when they brought it was priceless. she cut into the fried fluff ball containing the ice-cream with her spoon and scooped up the perfect ratio of green-tea IC and fried dough. Lets just say it was gone after a minute. Overall, this place was satisfying, not too pricey and the food is also tasty. I would recommend it to those looking for a cute, conveniently located sushi spot in the Rego Park/Forest Hills area.

I decided to come here recently to give this place another shot. The first time I came here, the service was terrible, we waited for half an hour to get served water and another half an hour to get our order. I would understand that it was Valentine’s Day, but the fact that a group of people that came after us(they had no reservation) had their orders taken and food before the waitress got our order was unacceptable. My friend and I came for the second time during the lunch special and the experience was much better. They had redeemed themselves. My friend ordered the salmon bento box for about $ 9 and I ordered the lunch special three rolls which for $ 9. What really surprised me was that at the end, they gave us ice cream! Well we shared one ice cream, which pretty sure came because we ordered a bento box. The waiter was much nicer this time, unlike the waitress we had the first time. Cost: price is ok(better to come in during lunch special) Atmosphere: bright setting, perfect place to come with friends who want to chat and catch up Service: varies(depend on holidays and time of day) I would recommend this place if you are in the mood for sushi. Especially after shopping at Rego Center and Sears, this is a great place to take a break and enjoy some sushi.

This sushi restaurant is cheap and satisfying. My spicy salmon rolls were $ 3 each. The rolls are a good size, and the fish is a good amount. Waitstaff is friendly and always making sure everything was fine. Convenient location across from shopping areas. There are meter parking spots outside. Only place I’ve seen so far, with a bonsai tree on the wall. If ever you are around this area, I highly suggest eating here over any other sushi spots.

This review is specifically for their takeout service. My family and I have been coming here for years and the service at the restaurant is great. However, my brother orders from here very often(2x-3x/week) and the sushi always comes half soaked in sauces. It’s pretty disgusting since the roll falls apart and is really moist. We’ve complained twice already and each time, the food still comes like this. This is most likely the fault of the delivery driver, but still unacceptable given that he is an employee there and we’ve told them multiple times already. My brother really enjoys their lunch special so he continues ordering from here, but I’m trying to convince him to order elsewhere since 1⁄3 of the bento box is filled with sauces. P. s. If a woman answers the phone, be prepared for rudeness.

I have ordered now twice from this establishment. Both times were takeout. The first time I ordered I thought the lack of taste was a fluke. I was wrong. The sushi here is absolutely terrible. I have a real tough time believing all these reviewers that think this is «the best sushi ever». It’s tasteless, not at all fresh and downright bland. I guess you get what you pay for. The gyoza though is pretty decent. Very heavy on the soy sauce, which now that I’m thinking about it might be because without it — it’d be bland too.

This Sake Sushi in Queens must not be mistaken by the All You Can Eat Sake in Brooklyn! My Fiancé and I were around the neighborhood during lunchtime and decided to give this sushi place a try. Good thing we did because we loved both of our lunch specials. ~~~Outstanding Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box for lunch special!!! So Fulfilling — Chicken Teriyaki(tender and flavorful), California Roll(the right size with the right ingridients), Beef Negimaki, Shrimp Tempura, and RICE! ~~~Also, the sashimi lunch special is a melt-in-mouth goodness!!! Totally FRESH selection of fish too! All lunch specials come with Miso Soup or Salad w/Ginger Dressing AND a choice of Ice Cream!!! I highly recommend the green tea flavor. Friendly staff is what we liked in addition to the delicious meal we had! You will not be disappointed by the food and service. YUP, we will definitely come back to this local Sushi place.
