Just okay food. I got the lunch special there a few times. I tried the yookgaejang(spicy beef stew) and spicy chicken stew. It’s actually pretty spicy, but I liked it. They give a big amount of rice which is a plus, and they give a variety of side dishes. Good typical Korean food. UPDATE You must try their naengmyun(cold broth noodle) and bibimmyun(cold sauce noodle?) It’s delicious.

I am absolutely sold with this place. I wanted to find a good alternative to Han Joo and this place is it. I still love Han Joo but this is also a great alternative place for some good Korean BBQ food. First I would note, the service is incredible and very attentive. The owner served us well and always asked us if we wanted seconds or thirds for a particular side dish. I came here on a Thursday night waiting for 4 other friends. Granted it wasn’t full. They had about 3 – 4 tables occupied so it wasn’t a problem for them to sit me. After 30 minutes of patiently waiting, we had 2 orders of pork belly(a third for free!), the thinly slicked duck, the marinated Galbi, and a giant soup with kimchi and Mandu. Food was delicious~ The Galbi and soup were cooked at the table next to us. I didn’t really enjoyed the soup and TBH, I wanted the green tea cold broth noodles instead. Wasn’t my choice, that’s what happens when you have friends. Out the door, $ 35pp. Everybody was KO’ed. Anyways, definitely try out this place. Next time, I’m ordering the smoked Pork loin, the spanish mackerel, the smoked duck, and/or the cold broth noodles. Keep in mind, this area is hard to find parking. Always true w/good restaurants in the neighborhood~

After a weekend of snowboarding, my friends and I decided to try this restaurant out since it’s been on my bookmarks. This place was very pleasant and homely. The owner was very friendly and generous. She would also, personally serve or cook the food in front of us. We had 7 people so we ordered a good amount of dishes. This included the spicy squid with noodles, kimchi jiggae, duck meat slices mixed in veges, and 2 bbq meats. The 2 bbq meats we chose were 2 orders of galbi and 1 order of pork belly. The bbq meats came with a soybean Claypot soup which was amazing. It was perfect for the cold breezy weather. The bbq meats were cooked in front of us on a slanted crystal grill. The crystal grill is known to be a healthier choice than your normal metal grill. The crystal grill was placed on a portable stove on a slant which allowed all the fats to drip down. The nice lady also added an extra slices of pork belly free of charge since she saw that we had so many people. She also added some a cold marinated crab banchan for us to try. The squid with noodles and stir fried duck slices were both spicy but a very enjoyable. Also, we ordered the red bean rice which goes very well the dishes. Lastly, they gave us a Yukult drink for dessert. Overall, this is definately a place I’d come back to for korean bbq. The waitress and owners were very attentive and amiable. They were very proactive with the service and offered many freebies.

My experience at Su Ra Chung was just, wow! My party of friends and I felt like we just entered a Korean mom’s home. We were well taken care from the moment we walked in the door. Warm welcomes from the owner and her staff. We were seated immediately and poured each of us a cup of brown rice tea, just the perfect warm-me-up drink after a whole weekend playing in snow(snowboarding). It is a small restaurant but super cozy. My party ordered a handful of dishes such as the marinated galbi and pork belly for the barbecue grill. We also got duck meat, spicy stir-fry squid with udon noodles, and kimchi ji-gae. After ordering, banchans of kimchi, broccoli, tofu, pumpkin, spinach, bean sprouts, and etc. filled our table along with two claypots of the soybean paste stew that comes with barbecue. Barbecue meats were indeed really delicious especially off of their infamous crystal grill. There is a burner that heats up the crystal grill as the meats are cooking on top of it. It is slated so that the liquid fat drips into a compartment on the table. What a creative way to be a little more healthier! Another spot light is the Spicy Stir-fry Squid with Udon Noodles. I was super impressed with the tender texture of the squid. Red chili pepper sauce was on point, it is just the perfect spicy level! Last but not least, soybean paste stew. Yes, it was a freebie but they did not slack off! Dices of green hot pepper, tofu, cucumbers, and mushrooms filled the stew. I now declare that their soybean paste stew is the best I ever had! Owner and staff was super generous. We had seven people in our party and they were kind enough to portion each dish for each of us. This is going above and beyond of regular service level at any Asian restaurants I have ever been to. Super impressed!

They called it «ahjussi restaurant» because a lot of ahjussis and Ahjummas come here for drinks and food at night. It’s the OG Korean Korean restaurant. If Ahjummas like it you know it’s s good place to go to for food lol I like everything I ordered from here and the service was good. Would totally come back for dinner again.

This is always my go to place for Korean food in New York. They have amazing customer service and the feel is very family like since the employees are asking if you want side dishes refilled and if you need anything else. I have tried the Kimchi Jigae here as well as the Spicy Beef Rib soup. Those are certainly my two favorite soups. The Dak Galbi is amazing here too. Spicy and moist chicken cooked with cabbage. You can’t go wrong with that. They also make fried rice with the remaining spicy sauce after you finish eating the Dak Galbi. This is the place to go to when you are craving some Korean food with a warm staff. Only minor minor drawback is that they seem to be less attentive when you are alone and not with a group. Otherwise, I love the food here.

When this placed opened up, I LOVED coming here. Now, the food lacks the love! What happened?! The owner was very sweet and the waitresses were very attentive. I guess that’s what happens when you first open up. The food isn’t that great anymore.

Another great restaurant in Flushing. Came here craving dak(chicken) galbi. It is a great family style meal. The four of us ordered three portions where they still have us 4 portions due to a promotion they’re having they said. It’s cooked in a huge pot full of chicken, vegetables, and rice cakes all mixed with a spicy sauce. It’s an eye pleaser to have it in front of you still cooking and getting better and better as you eat. The best part is when you’re done, they make fried rice for you with the remaining sauce in the pan. YUMMY! The waitresses here are full of Korean warmth and humor! The side dishes are plenty so you won’t be disappointed! Other dishes looked good here too but highly recommend eating the dak galbi here with some friends~ We certainly enjoyed it :) ! !

Lovely lovely lovely. Wonderful customer service from the beginning to the end. Every single lady was helpful, attentive, & always smiling. Banchan set was very tasty. Loved their kimchi. Bulgogi and grilled chicken was super tender and savory. The soondubu«soft tofu stew» was on point. Steam blowing delicious. Then the ladies gave us another hot stone soup made from beancurd paste with seafood that was also very yummy. It was a feast for us 2. Keep up the great work on service and quality of food. A definite recommendation! Will come back with family and friends. A must!

Good food. Great service. Very family friendly, it’s like your at your grandmas house and she is cooking for you. It feels like family. I’ve been coming here for the past year and every time it’s always been a success. Never a disappointment, & the prices are reasonable, always leave full with goodies to take home

Out of many Korean restaurants I’ve been, Su Ra Chung is definitely one of my favorites. First thing stepping in is the enthusiastic service, especially the host lady. Not having time to dine around an area I’ve hardly ate for a while, host lady gives the illest hugs asking me to review Su Ra Chung. Wait staff is very attentive as it didn’t take too long for our iced water and hot tea and they recommend what’s really good to order. Cleanliness is another point to add as this spot has a really nice ambience and importantly how clean their food is from their overdose of side dishes to BBQ meat and individual entrée dishes. Through my overall experiences, you can’t go wrong with anything in the menu. If you go with someone else, just get 2 different entrees. If you go with a group, go with the BBQ, they grill meat on a thick sheet of ice. Their food doesn’t just taste delicious, you get served some GENEROUS portions that you don’t have to worry about tomorrow’s breakfast. One recommendation is to get the spicy octopus rice in the hot stone bowl, a really tangy, hot and spicy bowl that toasts your rice and cooks everything else. Whenever you order rice with a hot stone bowl, you get a nice bowl of spicy soup. Another recommendation is the spicy sausage soup, various spices, multiple pieces of pork, and warm peppercorns. If you’re in a quest to look for reasonable korean food, feel free to step in. Service so good :)

Got my dak galbi cherry popped today. I know, I’ve been deprived. Felt shameful when the lady serving us was like, «You Korean and you never eat dak galbi?!» Okay, but apparently there aren’t too many places that have dak galbi on their BBQ menu… So you uncultured Korean American folks like me out there, try the dak galbi here at Su Ra Chung. It comes with tender, juicy pieces of chicken with dduk, sweet potatoes and cabbage, in spicy gochujang sauce. Don’t forget to ask for the rice at the end because honestly, I thought that was the best part. Tip: ask for 2 servings, otherwise it’ll come out already cooked/prepared.

Entrance seems small but inside its decent size of clean restaurant. I ordered budaechigae which wasn’t on the menu.(they had budaejungol, for party of 3+) The lady tried to swindle me into buying it but my boyfriend put her in her place with a good cold stare of death. The appetizers were very good and plentoful but the budaechigae we ordered could really use some work there was no ramen or any real delicious meat just whack meat wouldn’t come back except for the appetizers

I may have found my new go-to place for Yukejang. After the college point Assi plaza closed down, I went on the hunt for good yukejang, but no one can match what that old grandma/grandpa couple made in Assi plaza. Still, no one can beat it, but FINALLY, ALAS Su Ra Chung comes close! The lunch special is EXCELLENT and the prices are amazing! I used to think Hahm Ji Bach was the end all be all of korean food, but I’ve found a nice new little alternative! Folks, don’t come here for 5 star ambiance or take a date here for an anniversary(unless there’s some sentimental value) or take your in-laws here for a «meet the fockers» dinner. It’s one stop short of a «hole-in-the-wall»(on the better side :) The service is pretty good and they’re quite attentive, but who cares when the food is so delicious. YUMS! Can’t wait to go back.

This place has the BEST Unilocal reviews, so my friends and I decided to trek here on a rainy day for their famous dak kalbi. Perhaps we were a bit too excited, because the meal was not good :(Usually, banchan are a safe bet and we did not expect them to be bad. However, ours tasted old and spoiled. After trying to stomach a few bites, we gave up and waited for the chicken to arrive. This was the best part of the meal because it looked and smelled INCREDIBLE! With our hopes up, we dug in. Unfortunately,(you know where this is going) it really was nothing special. You could taste a lot of the spices(cinnamon in particular) and the fact that it was piping hot was appreciated due to the cold rainy weather. But other than that, there was not much to write home about. I’m really sad about this experience and am wondering if it was an off day for them? I hope to give this place another shot someday, but really wish I could have had the delicious experience everyone else seemed to have :(

This is a little strip by the LIRR that has a ton of very respectable Korean restaurants. The area has a bunch of Korean restaurant with a bunch of Korean clientele, that’s a very good sign. The restaurant is very no frills just really good BBQ with really great and attentive service. Our waitress was super friendly, even though there was a slight language barrier, she took the time and effort to make sure our table was taken care of. The table was always replenished with lettuce and water. The food: Yangnyeom-Galbi– Beef short ribs marinated in special sauce. I thought the Galbi was great. It was really nice and tender and the flavor of the short rib and marinade was awesome but it does run sweet. I would say this would be my second favorite behind Mapo across the street. Heuk-Dweji Samgeopsal– Smoked black pork loin. I thought the pork belly was great and I really loved the outside char on the meat. it developed this really nice crust. Hunje Tong Samgyeop– Smoked pork loin. This was such a unique dish, it was kinda like American BBQ meets Korea. I thought the pork loin had a nice smokey element that paired well with the pork. The honey mustard dipping sauce was a nice condiment with a little heat but the sweetness was a tad issue for me. Kimchi– Jjigae– Spicy casserole with pork and kimchi in beef based broth. I thought this was a great soup, it was a nice palate cleanser. The soup was nice and it had a nice sour punch. It was really good. Samchi– Gui Junsik– broiled fresh Spanish Mackerel with a side of bean paste soup. I thought this dish was OK. The mackerel was on the dry side and it was pretty salty. Ori-Los– Grilled duck– This is one of the most popular dishes here but I was not sold. I thought the duck was rather bland even with the scallion and sauce addition. Everyone orders this when they come here but I wasn’t a fan.

I come here several times for their delicious Korean food. My Korean friend brought me here three years ago, after that I became a fan of this restaurant! I really LOVE their Seafood Pancake and Hot Pot, I also LOVE the free dishes they give. All the free dishes can refill until you don’t want. One of my favorite free dish is Pumpkin Cream, I always refill three times! The environment is clean and the service is good, especially the owner is very kind and friendly. She always very friendly say Hi to me when I go there everytime, and she remember me and my friends. Anyway, I really LOVE Su Ra Chung. I highly recommend it to you!
