Almost missed this place. A small Café on a busy block. Didn’t even know it existed, but thanks to Unilocal,I discovered this little gem. Service is good and so was the desert I ordered. The«snow-white«Large enough to share.

Empty on a Friday night since it is a little out of the way for people but they have interesting twist on desserts. I’d say a mixture of kulu and mango mango. I would go back if other dessert places are packed since they have decent desserts and spacious seats.

Came here to get some durian dessert but they were sold out. Wanted their«pancakes» but also sold out. The menus smelled really bad… not much ventilation inside. The bf wanted something with red bean and they were also out. So I got the«Snow White» which had mangoes and coconut and ice cream. It was okay, typical dessert like Kulu and Cutting Board. I’d rather go to Mango Mango.

I like their red bean and walnuts soup. Pretty good! I ordered it hot, but it’s not as hot as I want. If you want some sweet and hot desert this is pretty good, they also have it in cold.

I come here for green tea related goodies all the time. I will go out of my way to drive here and pick treats up. I will order 4 – 6 smoothies at a time since my family loves treats too. The place itself is really cute and cozy. Great for a little stop during your day with a friend or family. I ordered the strawberry and green tea smoothie here so many times. They do a good job with their smoothies, definitely go and check it out!

3.5 stars Hong Kong dessert spot located on Union street! I was a little skeptical of this place since I looked up pics of the desserts on Unilocal and they looked mediocre compared to the ones I’ve gotten at other HK dessert places like Kulu and Mango Mango. However, my friend insisted that we come here so I decided to give it a try. I surprisingly enjoyed the experience! When our group of 8 walked in, the server automatically acknowledged us and rearranged the tables to seat our group. The décor is fantastic! Very chic, modern and vibrant with sofa chairs! The Mango Yogurt drink seemed popular so the majority of our group ordered it. I found it to be just a tad too sweet. The fact that it’s a very thick drink also kinda doesn’t help with that haha. If you’re looking for a refreshing/thirst-quenching drink, definitely do not order this one. Overall, I just found it to be average but it did have a great mango flavor to it. I also got to try a sip of my friend’s green tea smoothie and I liked that one more since it wasn’t as sweet and was more refreshing. I was actually teetering between 3 and 4 stars for this place but two things made me lean toward giving them a 4. One is the décor! It’s a great place to catch up with a friend while enjoying a drink or a dessert and it could also be a great place to get some studying done as well. Secondly, I lost count of how many Cantonese songs they played! It’s hard to find Cantonese establishments in Flushing, aka Little Mandarin town and the fact that Sugar Sugar stays true to its roots by playing Cantopop made me very impressed :) Drinks are ok tasting and not too expensive. The place itself gave off good vibes.

Durian dessert was rocking! Also, it’s a nice late night spot. Free wifi helps to kill time if you are waiting for someone. Overall, nice place to take your friends or a date for dessert.

The dessert was ok. The double layer milk custard tasted like mostly egg white, I guess that’s how it’s suppose to taste since it’s the first time I’ve ordered one? But I like how they allowed my friends and I to sit there for quite a long time. Will probably go there again on a weekend since the rest of the dessert places are full in Flushing.

Despite the pleasant service, decent dessert, and nice décor, the entire experience was pretty average. Nothing to write home about, honestly. I tried two different desserts from the menu: the Potted Plant Ice Cream and Durian w/Ice Cream in Vanilla Sauce. The Potted Plant Ice Cream is a modern dessert favorite amongst millennials. It consists of three layers: the Sprout, powdery chocolate to resemble soil, some cream for the«soil» to rest upon, and the ice cream, which is the base. You can choose two different flavors of ice cream such as Green Tea, Vanilla, or Chocolate. Durian w/Ice Cream in Vanilla Sauce was unique because of the Durian. I haven’t tasted Durian in a long time. The distinctive stinky smell was there, but not too pungent. The accompanying scoop of ice cream and the soupy Vanilla sauce with chunks of broken ice swimming in it were nice, but definitely overshadowed by the Durian. More varieties of dessert items with emphasis on exotic ingredients(like Durian) would really vamp the already generic desserts. Actually, maybe it’s just the methods of execution – there’s no sense of sophistication at all, which is probably why I feel so «meh» about the desserts here in the first place.

First time there. Liked the ambience — cozy kinda place with cute décor. Tried the fresh mango juice and the kiwi juice and both were very good. Also got the peanut mochi and mango pancake which were good as well. Mango taste was not as strong /sweet as in some other shops however. Would go back again to try other desserts.

Decided to come here after dinner because it was one of the only dessert places that opened late and that I still have not tried yet. I really liked the mango sago here, definitely worth a try. The potted plant with two ice cream scoops, was normal, nothing great, nothing bad. Right on the outskirts of busy Flushing. Not a huge sign, needs better signage to find the place.

Upon walking in, I was surprised at how nice the ambiance of the place was, everything looked neat and organized and there was an abundant amount of seating. But it all just went downhill from there. I was super disappointed with the dessert that I had ordered. I got something with grass jelly, red bean and green tea ice cream. The whole thing didn’t really have any taste to it in my opinion. I don’t know if the green tea ice cream they used was on the older side because it did not taste fresh at all. It had the kind of taste that ice cream has once you open it and leave it in the refrigerator for too long. My friend got the potted ice cream plant, which was probably the better choice. It also had Oreo bits so that reminded me of Prince tea house’s potted teas. This place has so much potential but it just didn’t cut it for me. Don’t think I’ll ever be coming back here. There are way better places for dessert in flushing :/

Ok, I like Sugar Sugar more than I would like to admit. The servings are generous and they offer non typical heavy flour/cake/cookie desserts which sometimes I get tired and bored of. The main reason I love going there is because their desserts aren’t very sweet! Many of their offerings contains fruits, which is a plus in my book. I know, I’m weird! Yay! Their sagos are in general, good. I tried their Snow White and Double mountain, both on Vanilla sauce with crushed ice. I think their green tea ice cream are great because it tastes so much like tea and of course, not too sweet. The waffle wasn’t too impressive but I do like that it came out with a bit a toasted crunch… I know, I’m weird! I like desserts that aren’t too sweet! The service is nice, they pretty much leave you alone most of the times so you are free to hang around. The décor feels like someone’s nice, clean living room and the furniture are comfortable and does not feel cheap. They are open until 2AM on the weekends, Sunday and the weekdays until 12AM. Cash only.

The atmosphere here is nice for a friendly gathering. It’s warm inside with the décor. Dessert-wise…I’m not a huge fan. I tried the hot walnut soup which was recommended on the menu. It looked like peanut sauce at chinese places, but tasted like walnut absolute purée… it was too smooth, it seemed a little like step 1 baby food… bowl was huge for ~3.50, but it was a pain to finish. They have milk tea special posted outside for 2.50. Unfortunately, the hot one was going to take 10 minutes so I opted for cold. I suggest going to a bubble tea specialty place for milk tea instead. Good thing is that menu prices include taxes already. Bad thing is it’s cash only. I’d come again for the atmosphere to mingle with friends.

Pretty decent place. The interior design is absolutely gorgeous. They offer free wifi which is amazing. Especially to post pictures of their food! They range from Chinese desserts to Hong Kong styled desserts to American desserts. I came here when it was very empty. The waitress/cashier was very nice, however her English was very horrible so we had to point things on the menu for her. English should be a requirement to know or at least know the English translation of the menu because you work there. Their ice cream options are: Vanilla, Green Tea, or Chocolate. I will definitely come back here if i’m in the neighborhood.

Big fan of durian, so naturally I ordered the durian pancake. It was pretty good, although I wish they didn’t go HAM on the whip cream. It may also be good for them to add a bit of texture to it(maybe a type of crunch or something). My friends got the Mango Pomelo Grass Jelly, and it was 2⁄5 at best. I’m pretty sure they used Mexican Mangoes, which I think is significantly less flavorful. The dessert itself wasn’t chilled at all… just imagine drinking warm beer. This place isn’t bad, but they can definitely do better.

Decided to stop here one night because my bf and I saw it. It’s a new place sort of downstairs. I ordered the red bean, grass jelly with green tea ice cream and my bf ordered the milk custard. I really liked my dessert, I haven’t had sweet red bean in a long time and with my favorite grass jelly it was great. The milk custard didn’t have too much can flavor.

Another Asian dessert spot in Flushing! The store had a good atmosphere and was nicely decorated. I really liked what they did with the butterflies on the wall and there was a really nice painting as well. They had booth seats that we modernly trendy and comfy. I ordered the mango pomelo sago and strawberry sago. The mango sago had fresh mango pieces, pomelo, sago, and star shaped jelly in mango juice! The strawberry sago had fresh strawberries and sago in strawberry juice; tarty but sweet. Overall, it was a pleasant visit. May come back here again, no complains and worth the try! Oh, and free wifi!

I really like this spot. It’s cute, it’s cozy, it’s clean, and there’s free wifi access. The girl that took our orders was extremely polite also. The durian pancake(even though it’s not really a pancake) was delicious and the Snow White Dessert was exactly what I was looking craving for; vanilla ice-cream based shaved ice topped with mango, banana, chia seeds, lychee and coconut meat?(not sure what that was, but I was told it was coconut). Neither dessert was overpowering with sweetness and I appreciated that. My friend and I sat here for two hours, catching up and it was a pleasant/peaceful setting away from all the flushing ruckus of people swarming in and out every ten seconds. Hm. Thumbs up for you guys
