My crazy possessed palate drove me to venture out to Flushing yet again the day post– Winter Storm Jonas. I wanted to try something out of the ordinary and ordered ma la beef tendons(which were very well prepared, juicy and tender, but the mala seasoning is a bit off, for some reason it lacked the Szechuan peppercorn), cumin lamb which was my default item on their menu was slightly disappointing today, lacking salt and pepper flakes and the usual tenderness of the lamb was gone. And their sour cabbage fish soup was prepared with very tender pieces of fish however not even sour at all today. I walked out of Yummy’s rather disappointed today. In contrast to the past, service today was very attentive. However the food was missing the kick. I would like to believe that the chef was off and there’s a new chef in the kitchen, but that’s probably unlikely the case. Sigh. I guess I should’ve just been happy with the poor service and great food that I was used to.

This is a small place with less than 10 tables. The food is priced fairly. I got the fish head dish and I can’t stop eating it! I also got some other appetizers and they are all tasty. It’s most frequented by locals from the area. Most importantly food is fresh.

This place is ok. Not the best tasty place in flushing. We tried a variety of stuffs here including the water boiled fish(fish fillet in hot chilli sauce), scallion pancakes, fish fillet with black bean sauce, beef with green pepper and onion, and water boiled beef(beef in spicy hot chilli sauce). Everything was just ok. Nothing really stood out. I’ve notice their portions are getting smaller compare to the first time I was here. So that’s definitely not good. Overall, there are better places in flushing. But since this one is on my way home from work, I don’t mind picking up some take outs once in a while

Yummy? No. Just, no. My mala fish dish lacked any numbing peppercorns(you guys really from Sichuan?). But, it was sweet. So think spicy teriyaki fish fillets. The heck?! The complimentary soup tasted like water. Not helping matters much was that there was wiry long human hair lurking in the over-sauced fish fillets. In sum, the prices are cheap, but buyer beware/caveat emptor.
