I was genuinely surprised with Doyle’s. I’m not sure why but I didn’t have super high expectations. Maybe because it’s in a shady little strip mall at the end of E. Bidwell? Who knows. I came here with my best friend on a Tuesday for dinner and a drink. They had a whole bunch of beers(and one cider!) on tap. I got whichever cider they had… of course I can’t remember what it was now. Something local and tasty and they let me taste it first. Best friend got the beer sampler and we LOVED the way you ordered. They brought you the sample holder(a wooden sort of shelf thing) and you write the number of the beer you want to try in front of each holder. So handy! For food I got the cobb salad and it was TASTY. It was way bigger than expected and very filling. Best friend got a burger and fries and both were super yummy. The fries tasted like McD’s and the burger tasted like a way better version of if Wendy’s and In N Out had a yummy burger baby. I’d definitely come back if not for the food, then to try out trivia on a Wednesday night!

I’m not fully aware of California state law regarding the purchase of alcohol with a temporary liscence, though I always thought that it was up to each individual establishment to decide whether or not to accept the ID. Long story short, I’m 28, almost 29 years old, and my wallet was stolen over last weekend while on a trip to Seattle. I came to this establishment with my father, who was a regular, with all the forms of ID that I had(my temporary liscence and my business check and credit cards). I was told that I was not allowed to get a beer due to the lack of a photo on my temporary ID and because I looked«young». Needless to say it was a bit obnoxious as I’m a combat veteran and probably older than the guy who wouldn’t allow me to drink a beer. I liked the ambiance of this place and thought it would be a nice place to try, however this experience left a bad taste in both mine and my father’s mouths. As such, we will both not be returning. Best of luck in the future.

My barbecue bacon cheeseburger was good. My friend had a Bacon grilled cheese not so good. Fries were to salty. I did like that they had pepper on them. Will come back and try more flavored ciders on tap.

Pat and Melanie are one of the nicest owners of any business in Folsom. They know their beers and do everything they can to change up what’s on tap including driving around the Bay Area to find unique ones. In fact, some of the beers featured at Doyle’s can also be found at Folsom at the annual Tap Folsom event in the special VIP area! Food is all hand made pub style food. I recommend the wings and the nachos. For beer, I recommend having a flight although they will let you taste any of the beers on tap for free. I go back as often as possible.

Good hamburgers and beer! Nice little place, it used to be a dive bar type spot. All craft beers only so don’t go here if you want a Bud Heavy.

We have been here several times since they opened as Doyle’s. Service has been excellent every time. The food is standard pub food but of great quality. Amazing happy hour and drink specials. Try the $ 3 roll the dice shot for a little extra adventure. Oh I almost forgot, another great tap list in the Folsom area.

Best burger I have had in a reeeeally long time. Certainly the BEST in town! Beer selection was stellar. Love that it is always changing. They have a fun way of ordering your flight with markers and blackboard on the beer rack. Live music was awesome!

I wanted so bad– to love this place… Let me reiterate– how much I wanted to love this place. I tried twice… The service was bland– and I was left bored. So much potential… walked out twice and should of three times… this joint could easily blow doors– but fails to embody the vibe. Maybe I just went on the wrong nights… I got charged $ 9.00 for 1 single shot of Stoli and a soda water. Crazy over priced! :(Was literally in shock. On a positive note, the lighting was nice and dim which is always a plus and the music playing through the Pandora wasn’t bad at all. I don’t really have too much more to add… I had so much hope for this new local business but I am only left disappointed :(

Absolutely love this place. Awesome beer selection! They also have $ 3 mystery shots. Roll the dice and get one of types of liquor. Good menu is small but the food is bomb.

Since the dawn of time, Man has longed for $ 3 shots and microbrews. Well good news, Man. Here is a list of things that I enjoyed about Doyle’s: — This feels like a great after-work spot with friends. If I had any friends(sadface?) I would probably meet up with them here after work, sip on some type of brown ale, and talk about my day while peppering in some swears. — Any place that has rotating microbrews is already a place I like, even if I don’t drink microbrews. That’s because by default, it means the place wants to have something available that other places don’t have, and that’s something I like any place I’m going to frequent. — They had a «roll your shot» option where you rolled die and whatever number came up, that’s the shot you’d drink. The drinks were hidden in a bag. If this had been a crowded party location I probably would have found that lame but with so few people inside it was just a fun way to drink something while I waited for my nachos. — Also I ordered nachos. They were good. I think I would prefer black bean instead of refried but it is what it is. The only problem is that the location makes this pretty much impossible to see. The place was dead on a Saturday, and it’s not because it’s not a fun place. There was live music, good bartenders, and good drinks at good prices, but if no one knows you’re there, that’s an issue in the long term. But I liked it here. I would definitely go back, and already plan to.

Ok so I have down graded my previous review. The owner engaged me in conversation then thought he would take a pot shot then block me from responding. So here is my response . Patrick ‚ for the record I am not in the habit of slamming local restaurants in my town. I was with my wife and 2 friends who were there when your server made those comments, and they absolutely said what I put in quotations. Im sorry if i offended you with the«aloof«comment. Im just calling it as i see it. Best of luck. I really wish you no ill will. For petes sake Folsom needs more«non chain» local mom and pop eateries. Maybe try not to be so defensive, a thick skin is required to be in business.

Love the beer selection, local top notch breweries. Food menu was small, but understanding the growth process. I had the BBQ Chicken Salad. It was very good. Fresh ingredients with just the right amount of sauce. Quite when I arrived, started picking up a bit. Staff was friendly and service was very good. I wish is was closer to home, but I will be back

There are so many wonderful craft brews and ciders on tap at Doyle’s Pub and Taproom, it’s usually hard to choose which ones to try. They rotate their selection often as well, so you must visit frequently. They always have some local brews too(Mraz, New Glory, American River, Knee Deep), which is great to see. Doyle’s has many food options as well. I have had the bacon grilled cheese and the seasoned french fries, which were fresh and tasty(and I have heard the other food is good too). Happy Hour Tuesday through Friday, 3−6pm always has great prices. Doyle’s even has live music every so often, as well as trivia at 7pm on Wednesdays. The owners Melanie and Patrick are also very friendly and helpful. Be sure to come check out Doyle’s, you won’t be disappointed!

So this is the best place I’ve been to in Folsom. It’s a cool, relaxed, and fresh environment with a great beer selection and a full bar with amazing liquor choices. I will definitely be going back and would refer this bar to anyone who asks. The owners were beyond amazing and the employees were helpful with finding my perfect beer selection. Ps the food selection is smaller. but it’s worth it. Everything is amazing… especially the nachos with the in house made chips

The mrs and I had a day off from the little lady so we thought we would reenact college and get some drinks before noon. Found this place on Unilocal. We have had a few very good establishments that used to occupy the space(RIP Mooney’s, Buck Short’s Dugout and Bailee’s). They have a fantastic craft beer selection on tap. I enjoyed a saison from Boulder Brewing Co. and a IPA from The Bruery. The food selection is pretty sparse but what I had was tasty. Ordered a Twin Cities Burger. It is there take on a «juicy Lucy». A double patty with cheddar inside the burger. It was cooked medium and had great flavor. Artisan bun and fresh LTP. it also came with bacon and thousand island and half is sitting in my fridge. The wait for food was 45 minutes and we were the only two in the joint so beware. Good food, great beer you should check it out.

We found out about Doyle’s Pub and Taproom on Unilocal’s Hot and New list and decided to check it out on our way back from Folsom Lake. The place looked pretty cool inside. It had a very chill relaxed feel. I liked all the wooden tables and booths. The Big chandelier in the middle was a nice touch too. They have 18 different taps for you to choose from and they have a wide variety! We tried the Mosaic, the Enjoy By IPA and a Double Liberty IPA. They were all really great! My favorite was the Mosaic. We ordered the spicy wings, the BBQ chicken salad and my husband ordered the burger. The wings we devoted in 2 minutes they were so good! My salad was delicious too! It was a good size and I ate the entire thing! The service was also very good! This is a great place for a good beer and something to eat!
