Top 5 reasons I enjoy the floridian: 1. I came here on a whim looking for breakfast eateries in the fort Lauderdale area while killing time until it was time to head to the port for a cruise. My guy and I came here with minimal expectations and left impressed! So impressed after our cruise we came back here to eat before taking a flight back to atlanta. 2. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating. We sat outdoors so we could people watch and catch some rays, he was in the shade but I absorbed some sun for him too. 3. The customer service was great both times we went. The waitresses made sure we had our condiments and refills on our drinks before our food came out. When we were torn on ordering between 2 dishes both waitresses were informed and gave great recommendations. 4. THEFOODISOUTSTANDING!!! the crab omelet is so meaty with real crab meat! The blue berry pancakes are loaded with fresh ripe bueberries that they burst in your mouth. 5. The food is cooked to order and just the way I requested. I’m a little ocd about things and both waitresses in the 2x I’ve come here catered to my requests with looking at me like 0_o word? Lol those who are particular understand the pain we suffer from when things have to be just right. When I requested for my food not to «touch» they both said say no more and it was perfect! I look forward to my next visit to Fort Lauderdale this April so we can dine here again! Great job guys! Some mornings I wake up craving your crab omelet wishing I was closer lol and this is coming from someone who doesn’t really care for eggs, so that’s saying a lot! :-)

We had breakfast here twice. The staff is super-friendly and brought out a cup, of water for our dog. Never an empty coffee cup or need to ask for refill. Very reasonable and good food on fabulous Las Olas

I really wanted to like this place, but our party of 4 was disappointed for breakfast. I would give it 0 stars, but that is not possible. We went on a weekday morning and it was not too crowded. Our server was nice for the one minute we saw her. She took our order and then pretty much disappeared. Our food came out at different times, you couldn’t track her down to get the items that were missing or the condiments that we had ordered. NO refills on coffee or water after asking other servers to help us out. She had plenty of time to chit chat with the regulars at the community table but we felt like we were the invisible diners. We had to go up to the counter and ask for more coffee and then we still waited and waited for someone to bring it to us. The food was also a disappointment as well. Everything looked good but nothing really tasted good. It was like the food was made for folks dining in a retirement home who lost their taste buds years ago. I had the french toast which my friend was wishing he ordered instead of his omelette until I gave him a piece of mine. We had both chosen poorly. The french toast was cold and it was more like a piece of bread they slapped on a griddle. My husband got the italian omelette and it was giant, but tasteless. This may be a Florida institution because the food tastes like it should be served in one. Go at your own risk. Don’t go expecting good food or good service and you won’t be disappointed like we were.

Great food and excellent service from Amanda. Ate in the Marilyn Monroe room with the antique chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The food is fresh, fast and delicious.

Do you want to travel in time and space without moving? Well this late night dinner will make you feel like that! Their vintage décor combined with their vintage soundtrack will bring you to the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s… In no time! Back and forth! You will be seated quickly because they are really big, their servers are true dinner ladies, they can be quick sometimes getting your order in. The menu has a great variety of comfort food that one who drank a «little bit» and is hungry at 2 am would like to eat. The food is solid good, the portions very generous, and we will not stop dancing to the tunes playing and feeling that you are somewhere else than the busy Las Olas. Thanks to my hardcore fun late night friends this is now my easy option stop when I’m hungry, it’s very late, and I’m at Las Olas area!

This is my first bad review of a restaurant ever. My family and I had brunch here today, and we are all SOSICK! The food looked terrible when it came out, but after waiting over an hour for our food, we were too hungry to not eat. It’s New Years Day and I think that the chefs all called in sick and the dishwashers were cooking. The food was terrible. There was not enough silverware and my drink has a piece of onion floating in it! They were understaffed and very unprepared for such a busy holiday. My eggs Benedict– eggs were cooked over hard, homefries were almost raw potato and the hollandaise sauce looked scary. They staff was either hungover or still going from last night. They looked like they were all in pain! One waitress almost fought an old man in a wheelchair making his way down Las Olas Blvd. Note to the owner-get a new manager! Hire new employees. Have your kitchen staff get there much earlier and prep. Go to SAMs and but more silverware! It’s 2016 and you can’t get away with things like this as a restaurant owner anymore. With all these online review platforms. You may have made good money today with a line out the door, but everyone who are there today will never come back, and they will also leave a bad review. It just takes a few bad shifts to ruin a restaurant these days.

One star only because negative stars isn’t an option. Frequented the restaurant in the past but NEVER again. During my most recent dining«experience», I had to go inside to try to retrieve menus… but was unsuccessful considering the crowd of people surrounding the check out area. After waiting for about 15 min, with various servers walking past my party like we were invisible, we asked a dusty looking server for menus(she had several in her hand) and she said they were coming –_– Waited another 15 minutes for the same(dusty) server to reach over a member in my party and get an ash tray to take to another table – but not take our order, let us know she’d be back, or say anything really. I am completely sympathetic to the demands of a busy restaurant environment, but I was there at 3AM and there were no more than 12 people(total) dining. No excuse. The food at the Floridian is already a solid 2.5 so there is no reason to deal with such tragic customer service. Do yourself a favor… make a sandwich at your house and save yourself the gas. You’ll thank me later.

The Floridian has been a landmark on Las Olas for years. I use to go to this place about 15 – 20 years ago and then left it alone. Yesterday I went back for a late night craving and really enjoyed it. They are open all day so you can order from an extensive menu. My recommendation is ask for Crystal. This young lady rocks. She will tell you recommendations and what might not be a good choice. The whole staff was very friendly. Parking can be an issue during the day, right on up to late night. It certainly is an experience.

«The Flo» is a local favors that we love going to for breakfast or after a late night on Las Olas. We decided to go before hitting the Las Olas Art Fair. Lucked out and found curbside parking out front. This was quite the score on an event weekend! Once inside you seat yourself. We grabbed a quick spot in the main dining area next to the bar. Our waiter arrived quickly to take drink orders and drop off menus. Before we knew it he was back with our coffees and waters and gave us some more time to peruse the menu. I’m usually a creature of habit but decided to veer off course this morning. I went with a breakfast sandwich was essentially a western omelette on rye toast. Wifey went with a simple order of scrambled eggs, no sides or toast, just eggs. People watching is great here as there’s always an eclectic mix of patrons flowing by and in. We took in the sights while reading our daily horoscopes, a breakfast ritual in our family. Food was out quick and didn’t disappoint. I did take a good swig of my milk which I believe was on the verge of turning sour so I asked our waiter to swap it for an OJ to which he returned a glass of apple juice. When he saw my wife’s surprised look he asked if something was wrong and I told him I ordered OJ but decided to keep the apple juice which was a nice change. Overall, breakfast was great. Food was great, service was on point and our day was off to a great start! Tip #1– they only accept cash or American Express for payment but there’s an ATM inside the restaurant. Tip #2– try their sister restaurant Ernie’s on Federal Hwy between 17th street causeway and SR84.

A great spot of breakfast! This place has such a nice diner vibe and the food is yummy. My server Stefan was awesome and he took great care of my large party and had us all laughing uncontrollably. My corn beef hash was very fresh and my home fries were good also.

Perfect omelet. Perfect service. Perfect ambience. Ask for Nicki or her Mom Linda. New friends. An institution since 1957, on Las Olas, what more can you say. Great coffee. A must experience.

Stopped here for dinner yesterday on a walk to the beach and came back for breakfast. Very down home feel, with personable severs. Food has amazing flavor. Cook time on food was a tiny bit long(lost one star) but the value for quantity is there. Huge menu, lots of options. Walk in, find a table, enjoy the view of expensive cars trolling Las Olas Blvd. Great experience! Update! 5 stars, no doubt. Breakfast for the 1−1−1 meal had perfect portions. Cooked with flavor and not overly seasoned so you can add salt to your liking. What a great experience!

This is a staple in Ft. Lauderdale. It’s your typical diner food. Nothing here is bad but nothing here is spectacular. I think the menu is slightly over priced. The theme is very vintage; photos everywhere from random times. It’s always super busy. I know some of the reviews complained about service but I had great service(from waiter). When you walk in though they are so busy they don’t pay attention and just ask you to grab a seat. I had a two egg breakfast with a ham and their house potatoes. It was a good portion. My husband had the hot mess– it was huge. He enjoyed it. I almost got it but they don’t let you customize it. ie: don’t let you get your eggs anyway it’s as is. ;/. To be honest, it’s open 24⁄7 so come when your done with a night out on the town and save brunch for the other great brunch spots around.

Apparently this the oldest diner in Ft. Lauderdale. The service is excellent and it was packed. They are open 24⁄7 and have an extensive menu. The portions are huge! I ordered the greek omelette with grilled potatoes and a butter biscuit. yummy! My friend ordered the turkey omelette and couldn’t finish it. Someone stole his ray bans so he was salty but this diner is divey so watch your belongings when you eat there.

I live a block away from the place so we decided to try it one afternoon. It was pretty standard. I got a simple breakfast as did my boyfriend. I’d like to try lunch. I definitely wasn’t blown away considering the reputation this place has. The eggs, potatoes, and toast were all pretty standard.

Your #1 Locals Diner **Credit Cards Now Accepted** The Floridian, or more commonly known as «The Flo», is an institution among locals. Open 24-hrs/day, 7-days/wk, The Floridian has a huge menu that will rival any Jersey diner. The atmosphere is eclectic casual complete with a diner style breakfast bar. There is a large extra long table with high back repurposed conference room chairs that can accommodate large parties or sectioned seating if needed. It is self seating inside with additional tables running along the outside sidewalk area if preferred. Clientele is a wide range of people, from families to soccer teams to boaters grabbing a bite before heading out to sea, to the late night after hours club goers and prom groups ready to have a nosh. This morning we were a party of four dining for breakfast, which ranged from french toast, to corned beef hash and grits, to greek omelets and more.(see pics) The service was as expected for a diner style eating establishment. Pleasant and hospitable, our waitress was quick to take our drink orders and pass out the straws. The orders all arrived at the same time and correctly. The food is not anything fancy by any means, however the portions are huge and the pricing very reasonable for a Las Olas eatery. #TheFlo #TheFloridian #LasOlas

Cash only. Great breakfast for the price along Las Olas. Nothing fancy about this food. It is basic breakfast food. If you want more gourmet, go to Foxy Brown. The 2−2−2 is less than $ 10 and includes coffee. I ordered the pancakes, sausage, and eggs. The pancakes are huge. The sausage was a patty and was very good. It had the seeds in it for added flavor. The eggs were served over medium. I also tried my friend’s French toast as part of his 2−2−2. The French toast was very good too. Basic white toast is transferred into French toast. If you are looking for fancy flavors or toppings, then this is not the place for you. Servers are super friendly and efficient. You can dine inside or outside. There is metered street parking. They are open 24 hours a day. If you want a simple old fashion type breakfast this is a great place to go along Las Olas. Remember, it’s cash only!

So I’ve lived in South Florida my whole life and I haven’t been here?! I’ve probably driven by this joint a million times… So finally I came here with co-workers and it was great. It’s old school, quaint and I love all the different chairs they use for the dining room. You can choose from office chairs or regular dining chairs. The menu is huge. So come with a mind set on one specific type of food. I went for the Buffalo Burger. Not many restaurants have buffalo meat on their menu and I make these puppies at home all the time. I’d take a buffalo burger over a beef burger any day. I also saw what their seasoned/curly fries were like and I had to get those. The dish also came with a little cup of coleslaw. The coleslaw was a little wet and needed a bit more seasoning/spices. The french fries were exactly as I expected: sinful, salty, piping hot and delicious. The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy and just the taste I love, but I wish it was seasoned more. Later I realized one of my errors: it didn’t come with cheese. Maybe if there was cheese, I wouldn’t have noticed the lack of seasoning on the burger? I really want to come back again to try some more menu items. My co-workers got the biggest club sandwich I’ve ever seen and another got a huge Philly Cheese steak he devoured that sucker so quick.
