I have been leaving in fort lee for 12 years and always bought everyone to Jd for there outstanding ribs, but after being gone for a few years i went back to have my outstanding ribs… I was very disappointed, the ribs were dry and not worth no $ 22. not coming back . For the first time not a great impression. There was only one waiter with a floor full of people. Waited 20 minutes for a fork and drink. Tomato and mozzarella was below average and the Sangaria was too and was also hot. First and last time.

I wish I could give this place more than two stars because the waiter and the owners seem very nice. However at $ 40 per steak including a wilted iceberg lettuce salad it was hardly a bargain. The steak wasn’t bad but compared to river palm and some of the other steakhouses in the area that charge similar prices in paled in comparison. Interior décor is exactly as I remember it living in Fort Lee 20 years ago.

This place has always had delicious food. However, just when you think it couldn’t get any better, it did!!! Wow, they have turned this place into a wonderful southern/New Orleans type barbecue spot. The food is authentic and I felt like I was eating in the south! No matter what your taste buds are everyone will love to eat this food. A must eat! My favorite is the barbecue ribs, brisket, macaroni and cheese, seafood in the garlic bread to start. The staff is lovely and it’s a family owned business !!!

One of the best American BBQ places in Bergen county! It’s right below boiling pot and there’s parking available on the side! There’s a full bar with an awesome beer and cocktail list. You can order a variety of foods from steak to pasta or ribs or their wood smoke BBQ! They have wood smoke trays which are an assortment of meats that are slow cooked for 6 – 8 hours! It comes with sausages, ribs, brisket, chicken, pickles, corn, and your choice of lettuce or coleslaw. You can order additional sides which are highly recommended such as their garlic mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, creamy spinach, and French fries! The wood smoke trays are worth the price because there’s an overload of meat and every time I always had to bring leftovers home! The smoked chicken is huge and so moist while the ribs are cooked and flavored to perfection! There are 3 options for the wood smoke trays. Tray A is for 2 people, Tray B is for 4 people, and Tray C is for 6 people. If you’re looking for some post dinner drinks then I would definitely recommend the espresso martini! Or you can ask the manager Sarah for drinks suggestions! The staff are super friendly and sweet! Must try this place!

Came back and tried the smoked brisket. I would highly recommend this dish. The bartender Sarah once again made me feel very welcomed and comfortable with great recommendations. I will definitely be back soon.

Horrible steak it was like cardboard for 42 bucks! Outback has better steak for half the price. 20 minutes after we ordered they came back and told us they had no chicken… Terrible experience will not be returning!

Recently went back to try their BBQ and felt that I should add to my initial review that the BBQ is fantastic. The meat was tender and flavourful and had a true smoke ring from the real wood BBQ smoking process. We tried the smoked: brisket, chicken, Cajun style sausage, and ribs. All fantastic. I highly recommend ordering one of their BBQ packages and the portions are good. Also their cocktails are a great addition and very well made.

Long overdue! Have been going here on and off for MANY many years. — This place has THEEBESTGUINNESSPINT anywhere — -ANYWHERE… IN all of NJ, no doubt. Reason alone to go there.
Have been to ALL the top places in NYC and this place equals or even tops them all! YES it is true. I am a beer fanatic… They ALWAYS clean their lines — that is why. — I have taken MANYMANY guests here, the full gamut, and EVERYONE loved the food quality and the atmosphere. ALL of them — even picky«foodies.» — The Wing Factory food and beer is very SHAKY, so i STOPPED going there recently. Their Guinness is often SKUNKED and crappy cuz they don’t clean their lines. The whiny owner claims they do every 3 – 4 weeks, but that can NOT be. Simply unacceptable and ASININE for a «gastro» pub. — More people should go here, cuz it is usually not noisy and crowded. A nice cozy and placid atmosphere. — TOP place to meet someone and have a nice quiet chat. — If you are unhappy w/ANYTHING, they will do right and REPLACE your items!!! Just ask for Sarah, the smiley & nice mgr, who is the owner’s daughter… TRYTHISPLACE — — — — — — — — -

First time here and was a little hesitant because of some of the review. I had the dry rub ribs and they were very good, no complaints there. The service was great. The two waiters were very nice so I don’t know why people complained about the service, I had no problem. My husband had the chicken, it was pretty good though the breast area was a little dry. The next time we will try the steak side of the menu. The smoked side was good. Definitely worth a try.

Not very obvious spot unless you live in Fort Lee, but I think it’s worth the travel for this smokehouse BBQ. The platters are the most value-for-money meal, even though they’re not cheap. My favorite was the Beef Rib, which was fall-off-the-bone tender and very flavorful. Come with friends so that you can order more items for variety. There’s a bar and an extensive beer/wine list to choose from. Recommended to try at least once.

I love great BBQs and was excited about the wood smoked BBQ meal here. The BBQ meal for 4 people to share consisted of brisket, chicken, sausages and spare ribs. Brisket — 4 stars. Thick, seasoned ok, tender Chicken — 2 stars. Dry. No flavor. Sausages — 2 stars. Weird taste. Dry Spare ribs — 3 stars. A bit dry. No big flavor. Thick bones So overall, 3 out 4 meats were dry. I know smoked BBQ is tricky and perhaps the pitmaster(pitrookie?) had an off day but it’s not a happy experience. Other pasta dishes we shared were forgettable. The service was okay but had to repeat requests. Overall, I was very disappointed and even beers did not help.

This place honestly doesn’t even deserve a star. One of the worst meals from start to finish. The french onion soup was actually chicken broth with charred Swiss on top. The dirty martini was just olive juice in glass. The meat was 85% fat, however, I will give the steak some credit, even though it was VERY undercooked. They should not call themselves a steak restaurant. The people are nice and we wish them well.

I wish I could give this place higher marks. The service was amazing. Some of the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant which is the only reason it gets 2 stars. The food unfortunately was horrible. It was extremely bland with no flavor. My wife and I had the calamari as a appetizer and while it wasn’t good poorly it just didn’t taste like anything. We ordered the porterhouse for 2 and asked for it medium, but when the steak come out it was partially medium and partially raw. They also charred the outside of the steak without asking us or specifying it anywhere. They said it was because people request it that way. It would have been nice to know in advance. After sending it back for it being half raw the manager came out and tried to play it off like it was the trick of the light. I had to pick a piece out and show her that it was raw! After the steak was prepared correctly and we finally ate it and once again it was flavorless. And it was tough and chewy to boot! I wish their food was better with the level of service they offer but I can’t recommend eating there.

I am a regular customers in JD boil and was excited to try out JD steakhouse for Mother’s Day dinner today with family but was disappointed. Aged steak was not worth it for $ 99, chicken wings were dry and the owner/waiter they forgot my kids meal. My kids kept complaining they were hungry and we couldn’t share our steak bc we had it rare and other appetites were raw clams/oysters as well we patiently waited and waited for my kids baby back ribs meal and came when finished our steak. we asked one of the runner where is my kids baby ribs??? And found out they didn’t write it down(the owner/waiter ordered it together) :-( The restaurant wasn’t that busy not sure why it was so hard to have the staff to get things we needed, like lemons and more cocktail sauce. We don’t think we would go back again.

Interesting place indeed. There’s a small bar right by the entrance. It was packed with the frequent local patrons who kindly offered me a seat by the cash register. Dogfish IPA was available on draft so it was looking promising. Bartender was super friendly and it was going well until we went to the restaurant part to be seated. There was no one at the host/hostess table and we were greeted by one of the waitress who did not even ask if we had a reservation. She just told another waiter to seat us anywhere that was available. I stopped both of them said we made a reservation for 4 people for 8PM. They both looked stunned and looked around for reservation signs on the table which was right behind them. We sat down and ordered the famous Canadian ribs(dry and wet) and chicken to share. The waiter came back and said that these were not available for a meal but only for appetizer sizes. While he was explaining, the manager came out to interrupt him and to tell us that it is available but smoked. It would be little different from the original menu but still good. It was so bad that I did not even take any photos. Dry rub ribs = Dry rub does not equal dried up meat. I could not believe how little the meat was and how dried up it was. It tasted like overcooked steak tips. Canadian ribs = Same dried up ribs with sauce on top. I don’t even know what to say. It took forever to get our french fries and mashed potato. It came out when we finished our meal. The manager was so kind to give us 2 servings of mashed potatoes because it came out late. Wow. Really? Ms. Kim. Thank you for the apology massage but seriously what are you going to do differently if I come back? Your message was nothing but excuses with no real action items to address the basic lack of restaurant management. 1) Hostess /Host stand with reservation details and do not leave it to the servers to handle it. If so, then they need to ask the customers to wait until they can get the manager or host/hostess to check the reservation before seating. 2) If you ran out of items on the menu, then be honest about what’s available and what’s not. 3) Make sure that your food comes out on time together. 4) Train your staff to pay attention to your customers. If you do not have enough trained staff, then do not try to accommodate 3 or 4 large groups. By the way, you charge my friend 2 times for the same meal. He is not a happy camper.

Best ribs ever! Plus the owner bakes their own bread and everyone is so so friendly. Delish salad, amazing mussels appetizer, and my friend had a lovely steak. Plus they had no problem making a dish that’s no longer on the menu for my sister. They are working hard to be the best.
