Dinner was so fabulous! We arrived on Valentine’s Day with no reservation and they sat us immediately. I was unaware that we could bring our own bottle of wine as it was totally last minute so after eating our salads the owner came by and poured us some of his own red wine so that we could have wine with our steaks. So yummy and the potato salad was delicious! So glad to know this place is right in our backyard! Definitely will be back and will bring family & friends!

As someone who has experienced many of the well acclaimed steakhouses, I can confidently state that last night’s wet aged«cote de boeuf»(rib steak) was the best piece of steak I have eaten. Ever. Other notable(and surprisingly delicious) items on a very short/concise menu are the appetizer apple-wood smoked bacon and grilled king mushrooms side dish. The restaurant is also very friendly as far as bringing your own wine. Overall, a monthly must-do for my husband and I.

Good but not crazy. Definitely had better steaks. Porterhouse was a little hard to chew and chunks of it were just pure fat. There was nothing that fancy about sides or anything else. Filet mignon was good but also a little fatty.

Prime & Beyond was my first Korean steakhouse experience. I’m not really sure what exactly makes it Korean, save for a few Korean dishes like bibimbap and bulgogi. Other than that, the steaks are cooked American style. The place is small but it wasn’t too packed for a Wednesday night. It also happened to be Christmas Eve Eve and it was pouring, so I’m not sure how busy it can get a normal weekday. They have a family-style menu, which features your choice of steak(prices vary between different cuts and they go by pounds). We ordered the porterhouse and the wet-aged boneless steak. This also includes green salad, potato salad, grilled veggies, and ice cream. Nothing exciting. We did the math afterwards and realized it would have been cheaper/more worth it if we had just ordered individual steaks instead. While the steak was pretty good, I’m not sure if it was good enough to make me come back here again. I’m sure there are equally good, if not better steak out there for a better price. Tip — BYOB for a $ 5 fee(not sure if this is per bottle though)

Got to this small restaurant by mistake and made it our home steak house. This 5 – 7 tables restaurant serves home made Korean food with great steaks and lamb chops. Dry age room. Every stall is hand picked and cooked to perfection. Might be the best steak in NYC.

A great place to get your meat fix. After being a regular customer at the NYC location for years, I was expecting the same sort of experience here. They could not be MORE different. Whereas the city location puts a lot of emphasis on ambience and giving you an upscale dining experience, the Fort Lee location is much more home-like and cozy. There is no ambience to speak of(unless you find a butcher freezer case sexy) and the family that owns the establishment is clearly present. The NJ location is BYOB… which we should have known, but we were quite disappointed to show up without wine. Still, the meat quality is superb and korean food and side dishes are always reliably good. We ordered the steak for 2AND the bacon. The bacon is great, however, definitely overkill on top of everything that comes with the steak meal!

I ate at this establishment on 9÷22÷12. I went with a party of nine to celebrate a birthday. The head chef actually came over to our table, introduced himself and made recommendations on what we should order. He informed us that we weren’t obligated to order in the manner he advised, but made suggestions based on his 9 years of experience. The food is amazing. The chef said he would send our table bacon and sausages. Looking down at my menu, i was skeptical when I saw $ 10 for bacon that serves two. Now, I’ve never had bacon like this before. You won’t be able to find this bacon in stores. Well worth the price tag. The potato salad was the best I’ve ever had. The steaks were gargantuan and delicious. Served at just the right temperature with a spicy scallion that pairs very well with the flavor of the steak. I will gladly give this establishment my business again.

Really enjoy this place. The guy, who I assume is the owner, has always been really great. Tonight he was explaining the dishes for the Korean new year which was very enlightening. Finally got to try the lamb chops which were awesome with sides of kimchi and the shredded green onions. Very good. And then there was the bacon appetiser… Just described as bacon on the menu but it is awesome. Great evening. Wish we’d done the BYOB but it was all delicious. Definitely coming back the next time I’m staying nearby.

not your Father’s prime steak house. .. Korean steak house — seats about 20 people, bring your own. ..(have local liquor store who will offer free delivery); salad & sides included((and Ice cream dessert) with the meal. .. owner/chef made a point to stop by the table to share his prideful presentation with us. .. the meat was extraordinary. .. unique & delicious experience…do try it

Best quality steak and meat! I am not a big fan of steak so I will not come here often but it is such a good place for a small business meeting or dating. We ordered dry-aged beef as well as thick canadian bacon which was more like Korean pork belly(that thick!!!) That was super tender and juicy and I think I liked it more than our steak. haha. It was glad that we could bring our own beer and wine and we had a really great time with my friend’s dad and his brother. Since the owner is a Korean, they serve you small side dishes and I really liked it! Server was super attentive and nice and it was good that there was only one table except our table so we could enjoy our meal really well.

I really really had high hopes for this place. My friends raved about it three years ago and maybe I should have gone then, because now the quality and service changed for worse. The servers are very pushy and persistent about ordering a bigger cut. I’m a pretty quiet person so it was very uncomfortable being pressured like that in front of other patrons. The tables are close to each other so there isn’t much room for privacy and like someone else stated below, it smells pretty bad since it is a butcher shop. They are very skimpy with the sides and have no free complimentary dishes compared to the other steakhouse nearby. I mean for a price that high, many places offer free bread or chocolate etc. I honestly believe you can get higher quality meat elsewhere with much better customer service. Oh and they will be persistent about getting their overpriced desserts so beware…

THISBESTSTEAKHOUSEEVER! It is a small steak house with only about four tables but appearance does not matter for this place. You should definitely make a reservation. The waiters and chef is very friendly and polite! Please don’t complain when you don’t see any sauce. They don’t give you lot of sugary and salty sauce because the meat is too great! The meat literally melts in your mouth. Even the dessert is perfect! Blueberry cheesecake is awesome! There is also another Prime & Beyond at NYC. I heard that it is a family business. Both restaurants are fantastic and elegant. So if you’re live/go in the city, you should try Prime & Beyond in nyc too. Excellent service & high-quality steak! MUSTGO!

Huge disappointment for the most part. I heard very good reviews from close friends, and it was highly recommended by fellow foodies… I guess my expectations were too high, well here’s my review Right of the bat, please do not assume this is a restaurant. It is a meat house that serves lunch and dinner. Once you walk in you get the stench of meat right from the getgo. As such the workers do not know what service is. Do. Not. Expect. Any. Services. Here! The food was good but not worth the overall experience. It is good steaks but at the same time the bridge is 2 minutes away… Small, smelly, sucks.

Certainly an interesting little spot. Running out of ideas for our typical weekend lunch/brunch, we thought we’d give the place a whirl. It’s not really a «steak» spot as we expected though they do serve steak. It’s actually a Korean restaurant and while the name suggests fusion, it isn’t that either. The food is definitely better than some, and the portions decent. While it wasn’t quite what we had in mind, we left rather satisfied and that is what counts, yes?

The outside and inside décor may seem lacking but their steaks are great. –The dinner and lunch menu are different and you should call in ahead to make a reservation. The manager also recommends to in your order ahead of time if you have limited time for lunch. –Make sure you BYOB. Or you can also call a number they recommend for delivery but BYOB is the better choice. –The head chef and the manager/waiter are very friendly and they know their menu inside and out. You should ask what steak is the best that day and they will recommend the right choice. The waiter recommended T-bone and Lamb chops and they were delicious. –The price is actually really good for the portion. For dinner, they give you a salad, potato salad, scallion salad and grilled vegetables with your steak order. Ask for the smoked and himalayan salt on the side for your steak. -«Wet-aged» steaks is what we normally buy in stores while«Dry-aged» steaks are«dried» for weeks. Dry aged steaks can be a little chewier but it is very flavorful and delicious. Dry-aging was the process used in the olden days before refrigeration was invented. –They also have korean dishes and soups. They are great because the broths are made with great meat and bones in bulk. But they are a bit more pricier than other korean restaurants. I would recommend them for to-go and eat it later rather than dine-in. Although the restaurant looks a bit out-of-date in appearance, this restaurant aged more than 15 years deserves 5 stars due to the quality of their menu, service, and care for the customers.

What a terrible and disappointing experience. Here are my major points of contention: 1 — First of all on a Friday night there were literally 3 tables including us. That’s terrible foreshadowing that we should’ve picked up on, but based on the positive Unilocal reviews I was extremely hopeful. 2 — Medium rare to them is essentially medium. There was no hint of rare in that term to them. 3 — We ordered three entrees for the three of us. Be warned that the side of mac/potato salad that apparently comes with an entrée is only one per table not one per entrée. We were told we would have to pay extra for the other two. Then oddly we received 2 sides of «veggies/side salad» and when we asked for a 3rd we were told that we were supposed to share. Huh? Arbitrary. 4 — And to add insult to injury the steak had absolutely no seasoning and no flavor. I’m not sure if these other Unilocal reviews are real, but my experience tonight sadly and absolutely bombed. And I’m still hungry.

My Boo Boo took me here for my Bday last year. We’ve been to the other location in NYC. The price is NYC here too :) I think there’s much to add about this place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It’s BYOB but there is a corking fee. We normally don’t drink so I’m OK with that. We shared a pumpkin soup and a t-boner steak. And I think I got the lamb chops. I’d rather pick this place than other phoo phoo places like the Charthouse.

It’s alright, but since we went as a group it was hard to satisfy everyone’s taste. Meat could’ve been paired better with a sauce or something. At least it won’t be so bland for steak. ANDTHEYTOOKFOREVERWITHOURWATERANDTEA!!!

One of my besties lives a few minutes away, and he swears by this place(when in Jersey), and it’s his birthday weekend so we hopped onto the GWB and into Fort Lee. It’s a Korean steakhouse. That fact alone gave me a heck of a lot of pause because when I think of steakhouses, I don’t really think of my people. There’s just no correlation. But dang. My people did it and they did it well. So there are two Prime & Beyonds. This one and the one in the East Village. NOTETHAT both are BYOB, but the NYC one has a $ 30 corking fee. Good enough additional reason to drive to jersey. The place is very small and not substantial from the outside. The lot fits a few cars but blink and you’ll miss it. I called a day ahead for a party of five(remember that show?) and the reservation process was no mess no fuss. I called once again on the way there to let them know we were running a few minutes late. He appreciated the call, and gave us no issues. We were seated at our reserved table, and asked the chef to recommend cuts as a couple of the ones we initially wanted weren’t available. Now here’s why I would much rather come here than go to the other commercialized steakhouses that litter Manhattan; they’ll bring you a platter of the various cuts and seek your approval before putting them on the grill. Not feeling that particular bone in ribeye? Not aged or marbled enough for you? Just tell them, and it’ll be swapped. They take their time making sure you get exactly what you want. There’s no week or two week aged cuts. We chose an 8 week wet aged ribeye, a wet filet mignon and a dry porterhouse. Side of grilled vegetables and we were good to go. But then we were still hungry, so we added a dry aged bone in ribeye. OHMYFRICKINJEEBUSTHEDRYAGEDRIBEYE. It’s no secret that bone in cuts are just superb when properly dry aged, and this one didn’t disappoint. — wet bone in = amazing — wet filet = amazing. That perfect combination of lean but doesn’t taste lean — dry porterhouse = amazing — dry bone in = do not pass go, do not collect $ 200 without ordering this. Don’t be that guy who asks for steak sauce at a steakhouse. You’ll get a small dish of three different salts(the black Hawaiian is just amazing), and the idea is to sprinkle a tiny bit on your meats as they are concentrated. They don’t swath the steaks in butter, so you just really taste the meat. Just phenomenal. As the sole Korean in the group, I chatted it up with the staff, and we had a fantastic experience. Two bottles of wine and quality cuts of steak and great company. I spoke with the head chef, and learned a bit about their history and each location. The bill came out to a few cents over $ 350.00 before tax, so all in all, about $ 450 was spent. We were given a nice treat at the end for my friend’s birthday, and I will not discuss it with you guys because it’s something that should be kept secret, so as to not be taken advantage of. You win Korea. I’ll be back.
