Taco viva is a gem of a restaurant. Serving Greek and Mexican food(both traditional and more Tex mex) I found a love for just about everything on their menu. The staff is friendly and their food tastes like love in physical form. Do yourself a favor if you like Mexican food or Greek food, or just delicious food in general, and try it for yourself. Find your groove.

Delicious, extremely affordable. Tacos are hearty and have a generous amount of meat. I love the barbacoa and carnitas tacos. I have not ordered the gyro(on pita) but I had the gyro burrito(only $ 2!) that was equally as filling. There can be a bit of a wait because everything is made to order and if there are 2 people in front of you, then you’re looking at about 10 – 15 minutes to get your food. In my opinion, it’s worth it. If you’re in a rush, call ahead!

Wanted to grab quick lunch to go but sadly waited for 30 minutes! Should’ve gone through drive through! Food was mediocre. Can’t really say it’s bad either. Ordered fish tacos with shrimp, rice & beans. I have eaten Mexican in Mexico, NY area and around here. I guess it’s okay of people working in the vicinity for sit down lunch but would not recommend driving there just for tacos.

First all, this is a dive Mexican restaurant. Don’t expect the gourmet restaurant environment. I’ve eaten authentic Mexican food all over the US from hole in the wall places, to little Mexico restaurants and in food trucks. This wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was great to eat some authentic tacos at great prices. So if you want authentic Mexican food please order from the Mexican menu. Also for the individuals that got Gyros, sorry but you ordered it at a Mexican restaurant so I wouldn’t expect it to be great. I’m glad I found this place after moving back, gonna be a regular.

Always amazing. I have had the carne asada tacos, burrito, sub, quesadilla, and ceviche. All outstanding. It is a little divey and not too clean, but this is the best mexican place in swfl, hands down.

Went there because of all the positive reviews off of Google. It was OK. Had better. Portions were small like the price. Got a little turned off by the not so clean condition.

How the crap does this place average four stars? Like is it just a bunch of this dudes friends? First off, owner behind the counter was on his phone the whole time. It took way too long, and the gyro was disgusting. Let me put it this way… when your dog wont even eat your soggy gyro, you make a shit gyro. Who are these people saying they have good food? They are so horrendous they make Taco Bell seem like the gorram Cantina Laredo.

Not pretty to look at– very mom and pop. However, the taco was good, the Gyro and salad very good, and the fried plantains very good. Prices are quite low! Good place!

Saving grace in Estero. While attending FGCU, there was definitely a lack of diversity. Being from Miami, I like authentic Latin food from all over. This being one of the few, if not only, places near campus that serve authentic Mexican(and I’m assuming Greek?) food. At extremely affordable prices,($ 1 – 2 a taco) this place hits the spot everytime. Super divey, little hole in the wall, but do not let that stop you from giving them a shot. Their fish tacos are AMAZING and you have to try it with their baja sauce. Butterfly shrimp is $ 3 and is soooo good withthe fish tacos as well. Chicken tacos are really good as well and pairs great with the verde sauce. Y la carne asada? PERFECTO! Do yourself a favor and switch up your order each time to try all their tacos. Will not disappoint. The elotes here are finger licking good! Definitely recommend. Not sure if they still serve their fried ice cream, but my friends and I always would ask and the manager gladly prepared it for us. Super small inside, 5 – 6 tables maybe? And you’ll always run into the San Carlos Park rats here without failure. Perfect for afternoon lunch when you’re craving good and cheap good or late drunken night bites after a party a few streets down.

The best tacos in SWFL! The gyro taco is one of my favorites, with a grilled soft taco base, piled high with juice gyro meat and a refreshing taziki sauce! Yes, it’s a «hole in the wall» but their tacos are authentic and so is their price!

Had lunch here today. Very busy place. I had combination platter 2(3 tacos, 2 burritos, and beans & rice) and my husband had bowl of chicken tortilla soup. The soup was served in large bowl with tortilla chips; it was very good. The combination platter was average. With one drink, total bill was $ 16.

Loved it. My fellow Unilocalers are correct about this place. Everything was good especially the chicken and Spanish rice, which was only $ 4.99. I think I have sworn off Subway for lunch for good.

Awesome and inexpensive! Make sure to order off the Mexican menu not the America version. The carnitas and tamales are fantastic. Service can be slow but it’s worth the wait.

Typical little taco stand spot, I’d say the foods pretty authentic style. Tacos are only $ 1. Cant beat that. Definitely try the verde sauce with your meal. I eat here every so often, located right in san carlos.

Please support this great institution of a mom and pop owned business. The tacos are outstanding. Best value. Way better than a franchise. I’ve been going there for years.

Yummy authentic Mexican Cuisine. Looks are deceiving at this taco shack drive thru. I ordered the Taco Dorados, so crunchy and flavorful, comes with red beans and rice for 3.99, huge portions. Also tried the tamales, carne asada taco with fresh onions and cilantro and the chips and dip, which tasted homemade. My boyfriend had the chicken tacos, on soft flour tortillas and the bean and beef burrito. Every time I visit Taco Viva I am pleasantly surprised with the low prices, quality of food, and friendly staff. If you are in a hurry, do not order any specialty items as their good food takes time!

Found this place on the way up to Ft. Myer’s one day. Love my hole in the wall mexican places and this place had a drive-thru which was a plus. Tacos were pretty darn good, the shrimp was definiely my favorite. They even offered greek items(I guess it it’s good, then it works). Don’t be scared of the place, good food, good prices.
