I like how this place made new changes to the restaurant and expanded the place but the food quality is just not the same anymore, is not good like it used to be.

The grilled chicken is KILLER. I have no idea about anything because I can’t bring myself to get anything else. The salsa bar is cool as the sauces are really flavorful. Definitely recommended.

Stopped by earlier yesterday. The chicken burrito was delicious. The flavor of the chicken is real tasty. The spicy green salsa is amazing too. Beans and rice was on point & this location is always busy. The tacos were ok… and i have had the steak burrito a few times. kinda dry & it had grisle in it. Not so appetizing.

The good– the chicken is ferosh. Love the chicken. So juicy and great prices. Equally good is the pistachio green creamy salsa. The bad — beans are over cooked. The rice is super dry and the tortillas might as well be store bought. That being said, the chicken is worth it. Love the bird? Hit up this chain or pollo campero in dallas area

First, the good news: El Pollo Regio is pretty consistent, product-wise, from location to location. On many a Sunday in other cities, I’d hit the drive-through here for a mound of Mexican style chicken, some sides, and just a touch of old Mexico as everything got piled into a giant plastic bag and I moved on down the road to dinner. Second, the less good news: come here any time that is remotely busy and expect a hot mess of traffic challenges: there’s clearly no one minding the store on how folks get in and out of here, and even if you are, as in my case, compelled to make a special trip over, it makes it really tough to imagine a trip back when there’s such universal panic in the parking lot. Which sounds like an album title. I digress. Ultimately, I really love the chicken and sides that these guys provide and I feel like I’d stop at any of em given that consistency. But it’s the little to no consideration for the rest of their customer experience(and who knows, maybe that doesn’t matter to some people) that challenges me. I have hope, El Pollo Regio. Let’s meet halfway.

I’ve wanted to try El Pollo Regio for some time now. I’m certainly glad I tried it, but I’m certain I won’t hurry back. This location of the the chain is located in La Gran Plaza, which is a shopping center that is dominated by Latino customers. That being said, I feel like the employees at this restaurant treated me like I was somewhat out of place. In fairness, I likely was quite out of place, but I like adventure, and I like pretending to fit in even when I obviously don’t. When I saw that the restaurant offers a mole’ dish, I got excited, because I love a good, dark mole’ chicken entrée. I have to say I was quite disappointed with this one. The mole’ sauce was pretty good, even though it was likely made from a mix. It was rich, chocolatey, and spicy. However, the chicken itself was unsatisfactory. First, the serving of chicken was very poor. The entrée comes with a chicken breast and drumstick, but the breast was smaller than most thigh pieces served at KFC, and the drumstick was so small that Hooters would have been embarassed to call it a wing. Also, the chicken breast was horribly overcooked, as it’s texture was like a dried piece of leather. I expected far greater, as some other locations have great reviews, but I was not impressed. I’m feeling generous, so I’ll leave two stars for now. In fact, the rice and beans were fine, and the pickled jalapeño included was a nice touch. However, I find it very hard to get past the lackluster entrée.
