Had the breakfast bologna sandwich they offer on their weekend brunch menu. Sounds gross but I can guarantee you it was anything but. So delicious! We also shared the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was also really good. Food is art here and it’s beautiful!

First brunch at this W Mag newbie. Menu and décor are very promising. Execution in food and service sketchy. We had the brie & cranberry nachos as starters /interesting, tasty but the chips seemed to be Tostitos Bite Size rounds? My wife had breakfast Shrimp & Grits — grits were ok but closer to cream of wheat. My Fried bologna breakfast sandwich has too many ingredients. Skip the bacon, add another slice of bologna. The pomme frites are potato match stix — all crunch, no potato. Good enough we’ll give it another try but w Maxs Wine Dive and Press Café as competitors, Fixture needs some fixing.

Food was excellent. Jalapeño Ricotta appetizer was the best! Only putting 3 stars because of the absolute horrible water. Use a filter!!! Smells and tastes like chlorine.

I reluctantly ordered the chicken and waffle and was blown away by how delicious the dish was. I had been told it was wonderful but still did not think it would be for me. So glad i was wrong! The best part, other than the chicken’s perfectly seasoned coating, was the fact that the chicken breasts were boneless! What a treat! The waffle was more savory than sweet which was perfect for a dinner entrée. Service was impeccable and the wine pairings were spot on. We will definitely make this place a regular date night destination.

Went for Sunday brunch. This is a new, hip place on Magnolia in the new, hip area of Fort Worth. Yes, gentrified if you like to call it that. Out with the poor, old and dirty. HAHAHA evil laugh. People are nice. I like. Food good. I like. Price reasonable. I like. First time in Texas to have chicken and waffles where the chicken used is dark meat. My friends, this is the correct way to do it! Food should be good. The people that ask for white meat need to exercise more and eat less. Since when does food need to be PC? I enjoyed my sparkly, Brie nachos, duck legs(too salty) and my burger with the egg on top.(The art is shit) I will return.

I’ve decided that this is my favorite brunch spot in fort Worth! The shrimp and grits… Order it & thank me later. Delicious! My boyfriend ordered the duck hash dish and absolutely loved it. We had the fried beets as an appetizer. I could have eaten the whole plate by myself. Check this place out!

This place is like a modern farm house with urban flair. You walk into a great dining room with beautiful round farmhouse tables, hang a right and walk up a ramp of waxed hardwood floors into a tin roofed bar area with family style seating bar tables. The bathrooms have amazing, huge sliding barn doors and were one of my favorite touches!(…I know! The bathroom doors, right?!) The menu serves up amazing home cooked favorites with contemporary twists. PB&J sandwiches, Truffle Mac and Cheese, and lots of hand held goodies. My lunch of choice? The House Burger, topped with a fried egg, served on a kolache bun and served with small side salad. The mixed greens were perfect– as was the vinaigrette dressing. Lots of local craft beers on draft… Rahr and Sons Angry Santa to finish off my holiday! My lunch was filling and unique. Loved the food, loved the ambiance and loved the bar tender who took great care of me.

Simply wonderful brunch spot! Welcoming interior; uplifting music; great service! Started off sharing their creamy truffle Mac and cheese — perfect in opening one’s palate! Then came the beautifully presented chicken and waffle, must be eaten with all three components, the rosemary waffle, crunchy spiced fried chicken, and the chipotle syrup — heavenly! Already made plans in coming back with friends! Cheers!

BRUH… Ridiculously good food. Chicken and Waffles is fast becoming THE dish many new spots are adding to their menu selections. I have been to the original Roscoe’s and had many over the years. Remedy in Dallas is pretty damn good but Fixture slays it. Absolutely slays it. The chipotle syrup, chicken thighs with a thick batter and rosemary and herbed butter was EXPLOSIVE. Wooooh! They are 2 large pieces of chicken thighs on the waffle so plan on taking one for later if you want to go for dessert. We also had the duck wing appetizers that had an amazing blend of chili and citrus flavorings to start off the meal. My companion had the Duck Tacos along with the Truffle Mac and Cheese that was a near perfect blend of smoky truffle flavor with the cheese to me. They don’t like mushrooms of ANY kind but cleared that bowl before the tacos. The chef came by to chat with us for a bit before leaving and I appreciate that. Very nice and very down to earth. I will be back!

Let me scream beets! Their beer fries are worthy of a scream and a tear. Those things are excellent. It’s nice to feel good and naughty in your mouth. You feel healthy and a diet cheat at the same time. We also have the fried chicken it’s okay. I am not a fan of dark meat so it was not for me. We also had the shrimp and grits and they were pretty good. The portion size was small for shrimp and grits. This is a southern favorite so can’t be skimpy. To me the stand out was the beets. I would come back just for that. The restaurant décor is nice

Brunch is Am-AH-zing!!! The chicken and waffles are a must with the perfect amount of crispness as well as a little added spice to make it different from others, and the brunch sandwich with Bologna is also scrumptious! I plan on returning to Fort Worth to try dinner here as soon as possible! I mean I had a dream about their food people. That is just a sign or something. They also have a variety of cocktails for brunch, as well as dinner I assume. I’ll be back!

The brie and Cranberry nachos are awesome and so is the truffle mac and cheese. I had the Rosemary scented waffles, boneless chicken thighs, butter, and Chipotle maple syrup! The chicken was the star and cooked perfectly. I’d order no butter and the syrup on the side next time to keep the waffle nice and crispy vs soggy. That syrup was the best I’ve had though. Solid 9 of 10 we’ll be back again for sure. I love the Texas cheese stake as well. Everything we’ve had was delicious! I love that I can but the kitchen staff a round of beers, more places should offer this and you should buy them one.

Having Fixture here softens the pain that was left when 24 Plates closed. I finally staggered in after a night of Jameson and regret. Wasn’t busy at all for a Sunday morning so we got seated right away. It seems they kept all the décor from 24 plates– still clean, industrial, but cozy. Our server, Alan, came over and took our drink order. It was nice having him since he said it was only his 2nd day– we kind of learned the menu together– and he wasn’t a crabby, jaded server. Poor thing had to keep running g and asking the chef questions, but we were seated next to the kitchen so I didn’t feel so bad about it. We started with mimosas and thier signature spicy bloody mary. It has a nice kick to it, and it doesn’t hurt when you are still drunk from the night before. We were already pretty hangry, so I convinced the hubs to share the truffle mac. Only complaint was that we didn’t have some bread to sop up all the residual cheese left in the little cast iron dish after we straight murdered the noodles. The entrées didn’t take long at all– the chicken and waffles and skrimps and grits. While the chicken and waffles was amazing– they if use the syrup with chilies– I’m glad I didn’t have to eat the whole thing. The meat was dark, and I’m a princess an prefer white, and the breading on the bottom was soggy from the syrup. Again, princesses don’t eat soggy chicken. I would suggest the syrup on the side if you also have texture issues. The shrimp and grits was phenomenal– cheesy, perfectly cooked grits with spicy little shrimps floating on top– thanks Chef Ben for removing the tails so I could just inhale them! It came with a side of bacon and eggs. but. shrimp. Alan pretty much forced me to order dessert. Rude. Just kidding, I begged him to wrap up some a slice of Texas sheet cake to go. When I say this was the best cake I’ve ever had. believe that I’ve eaten a ridiculous amount of cake. Its a dense, rich, cake that they pour the icing and nuts over while it’s hot, then top it with marshmallows and torch them. Alan didn’t even set the cute little paper box on fire when he toasted the mallows. It took me 4 days to eat the whole piece, it was massive. I’m drooling thinking about it. seriously if this gets taken off the menu I will chain myself to the door in protest until Chef feeds me a pan of it.

Definitely did not expect the greatness that is this place when I decided to come here. Being a Unilocaler, I of course looked at the menu, scrolled through the different pictures, and read the reviews. I knew instantly that I wanted to get the chicken & waffles, and I’m so glad I did. The chicken was moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The waffle was just the right texture, and the syrup was to die for. I wish the syrup was on the side instead of already being drizzled on top, but that’s just me nitpicking. My friend and I also shared the Roasted Duck Sweet Potato Hash. I didn’t like it as much as the chicken & waffles, but it was still pretty good. The potatoes were nice, and the duck just melts in your mouth. I also had a mimosa with grapefruit juice, and it went with my meal perfectly! And for only $ 3! That’s a steal compared to other brunch places in Dallas. The ambience of this place was spectacular as well. There’s an outdoor area, but it was kind of chilly, so we decided to sit inside. Definitely will sit outside the next time I come because of the view! This is a gem of a place on Magnolia, and I promise you guys won’t be disappointed if you come here!

4.5 stars. Maybe i’m becoming a more picky reviewer these days. I dunno. That said, I really do dig Fixture; it’s yet another great addition to Magnolia Avenue and to the Fort Worth dining scene in general. Came here for dinner on a weeknight and so it wasn’t crowded and we got a table immediately. The ambience of the place was pretty cool~ that whole new hip American casual feel, with the wood and local art on the wall. Good for a date or casual dining with friends. CHICKEN&WAFFLES~ my friend ordered the chicken and waffles. Our waitress told us that it’s one of their more popular dishes that they’ve also entered into contests. The waffle itself has rosemary and so it wasn’t your everyday waffle batter; this was batter infused with the goodness that is rosemary. Very cool twist. On top of the waffle were some large portions of chicken, thighs me thinks. The only weird and unnecessary thing was the large sprig of rosemary sticking up in the dish; it was just a big garnish to have in a strange position for something so non-functional/decorative. PB&J(pork belly & jalapeño jelly)~ a really rich dish. Filling, to say the least. The thing is that I love pork and I especially love pork belly. Props to Fixture for not skimping on the hunk of pork belly and, just like with the chicken and waffles, giving us the most bang for the buck. I like that they used a slaw and jalapeño jelly to try and cut through the heartiness/heaviness of the meat, i get what they were going for. That said, it was still really heavy. But, still definitely good. Btw the beet fries are a winner. Sweet potato fries are so played out these days, i guess, so Fixture went for beets. and it works great. Hooray Fixture!

My sweet and thoughtful boyfriend brought me the fixture for a date night. We came early on a Saturday for a few appetizers. The set up and patio is beautiful. Really cool rustic patio. The weather was perfect. Our services was really nice and attentive. So it saddens me to say… We ordered wrong! We got the beet chips and the duck wings. I really liked the sauce and peanuts that came with the beets, but didn’t make up for the odd shape and taste of the beets. The duck wings… Man they were dry! And hard to chew. I really wish they would have came with a dipping sauce. With all that being said it was a wonderful date night spot.

WOW! I have been wanting to try Fixture since I moved into the neighborhood and finally got to! Yay! So here’s the down low: Upon walking in it’s got a great atmosphere. It’s very casual with that kind of rustic chic look that still gives it the idea of being a nice restaurant. We were seated and every part of the process was met with a positive attitude. Upon looking at the menu I was scared — mainly because EVERYTHING sounds amazing. If I wasn’t a broke college student I would eat here every night and try it all. I decided to order us the mac n cheese as an app, I ordered the chicken and waffles(because how could you not HELLO), and my friend got their pesto salad. The mac n cheese is fantastic because it isn’t heavy. Made with truffle oil, it is very light and clean making it a great starter for carb and cheese lovers. Plus it was presented beautifully and quickly. When my actual entrée arrived I was flabbergasted! SOMUCHFOOD. I feel like I really got a lot of bang for my buck. I took a bite out of the waffle and it was amazing, completely unsure of how to tackle the chicken I just began slicing. The recipe for their batter must be insane, because this was some of the best fried chicken dishes I’ve had. Usually when I get freshly made fried chicken(not at a fast food joint) the seasoning leans spicy, which is a bummer cause I’m not a big spice fan. But THIS batter leaned SWEET and it was amazing. Very rich, I couldn’t only eat ¼ of the waffle and one of the chicken thighs. Oh and did I mention they’re chicken THIGHS??? Ughhhh be still my beating heart. They also have the option of letting you buy a beer for the kitchen staff, which we did. :) All in all, definitely 5 stars and I can’t wait to go again.

Sunday Brunch at Fixture was a great experience! First off the vibe is great. Friendly hosts and servers, none of the pretentious attitudes of the previous restaurant in this location. We were seated immediately at 11:45am on a Sunday. The server was quick to offer drink specials and recommendations. Sunday has all day happy hour, and a few drinks are $ 5 and have $ 20 carafes. We started with the Le-moon-ade, which despite being advertised as having«no moonshine taste» was definitely a strong drink. It was delicious but not something of which I’d want an entire carafe to drink at one meal. We also got an Agua-Fresca, which was a strawberry hibiscus infusion this week. It was outstanding! We got the Brie-Cranberry nachos… amazing, 5stars and something I would re-order there again! My wife ordered the chicken and waffles with rosemary infusions. The chicken is a boneless thigh, which she loved. Personally, I thought chicken was a bit greasy(would have preferred breast meat or tenderloins) and the waffle was a bit weird. No matter, because she finished it off herself. I had the goat hash, which the server said was not her favorite. Gah… why was I a punk that didn’t listen to my server. The goat meat was really good, and the egg was cooked perfectly over easy. The hash however was sort of a sickening sweet mess. Sweet potatoes that were maybe boiled instead of crispy potatoes. And they had very little sautéed onions and instead a bunch of funky mushrooms. So, yes, I’m pretty much into basics done well especially for breakfast and I had no idea I would be getting mushrooms with my meal, guess it’s time for reading glasses! The service was very friendly, however nobody ever asked how our food turned out, if we loved it or not. It’s unfortunate because I would have expressed my disappointment in the hash, and perhaps would have tried something else. Our drinks were finished by the time our entrees arrived, but drink reorders were not taken until we were almost done eating, and then they arrived well after finishing the meal. Timing was just off, and it seems like bar might need more staff because first round was also slow to arrive. Overall I want to return and try more drinks and more food. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and they seem to be busy, which are all great signs!

Big big fan. I’ve been here a few times now and have to say I’m loving it so far. The atmosphere both inside and out is very cool, casual, and industrial, but can still feel romantic and definitely makes a trendy date-night spot. During the day, tons of natural light is let in through all the large windows, and big fans make the bar area nice and breezy. The outside patio is so comfortable, there’s something very zen about it… maybe the gravel. There’s ceiling fans but I’d still rather sit inside during the summer. So far the food has been incredible, and there are so many gluten free options. I’ve had the house burger(with no bun) — a perfect patty cooked to your liking(medium) covered in sharp cheddar cheese and a fried egg(YES), served with a «Bloody Mary» slightly spicy ketchup, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, purple onion, and pickled veggies, including a whole pepper(that I think is a pickled jalapeño). It all comes together so well, and I enjoy having something different in every bite. The house pomme frites are delicious and saltly, and they’re cooked in a dedicated fryer so they’re gluten free! They’re so tiny though, like shoestring style, so there’s really no graceful way to eat them. I went to Fixture recently for Saturday brunch, and Adam and I shared the Brie and Cranberry Nachos as a starter. OMG, I’ll have to replicate this dish at home. What could possibly be better than gooey, hot, melted Brie cheese on crisp corn tortilla chips with fresh diced pepper, tomato, cilantro, and dried cranberries. It really is a beautiful dish and there’s more than enough to share. For my entrée, I went with the Goat Hash, which was really beautiful. Strong earthy flavors served in a small cast iron pan. The goat is moist and tender and very aromatic alongside the cooked onions, peppers, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms. I felt like a character in Game of Thrones eating this almost medieval feeling dish. Mmmmm. Adam had the fried chicken with rosemary waffles. I didn’t have a bite but the presentation was gorgeous and I could tell by sight alone how perfectly the fried chicken was cooked. Prices are fair(I expected them to be higher), and there are some really interesting craft cocktails on the menu. Looking forward to returning for dinner.

Must gets: Aqua fresca, beet fries, cilantro pesto tofu salad, fried duck wings, brie cranberry nachos You can skip: truffle mac and cheese We had dinner in their backyard patio. Heard good things and saw high ratings. Excited to try here. Most of the food is solid. LOVED the beet fries. My chicken wing lover husband was impressed by the fried duck wings. Serving for that appy was larger than expected. Came with 6 pieces for $ 9. We actually had to send back the mac and cheese. Its consistency was too watery and not gooey enough. They kindly brought it back. Said they added more cheese. Tasted slightly better but wasn’t good enough to want to doggie bag it home. Anyways, great atmosphere and decent food. I would come back again. Maybe to try something else to go with my beet fries cause I’m definitely ordering those again.
