we went on a thursday night, and it was busy! the chips and salsa are amazing. it did take a little while to get our food, but it was worth it when it arrived. i had a frozen margarita(very strong and delicious) and the Azteca soup which i would describe as a spicy tortilla soup. i loved my dish. my boyfriend got the pastor street tacos, which were delicious and spicy with the added grilled jalepeno! i would definitely return to try more dishes! Yummy!

Have dined at Mi Cocula several times now and my go to is the brisket tacos. I’ve sampled other dishes but no, it’s brisket tacos for me all the way! Even if I only eat the inside and no tortilla. Their chips and salsa are pretty addicting too — can’t have just one! And I broke my No Grains policy to eat them.

I can’t really tell you about the food because I just had chips(not fond of them) and Salsa(hot.) Service was fine. They told us their front air conditioner didn’t work that well. I would tell you that it didn’t work at all. If you walk in and the front thermostat says 89 I would leave. They said it was cooler in the back but that was in comparison. The thermostat in the back said 82 at 9:30pm… Check the ac before you try them out. They definitely have a problem! They don’t take reservations…

Had trouble getting food elsewhere so we came here. IT was wonderful Service was great. The food was even better. I had the Sopes and the were badass. Wife had the pick three and thought is was great which was surprising since she doesn’t like to admit that there could be better Mexican food places than the original. Will be going back soon.

Our birthday lunch was marred by a waitperson who seemed to be pre-occupied by another table that she seemed to gloat over next to our six people. I had plenty of taco chips and salsa before our order was taken. The place is excellent, the food is good, but our waitperson’s thoughtful neglect spoiled our dining experience. We talked to someone and too late two pieces of cake came to our table before we left. Ninty-nine dollars to be shunned.

This is my favorite Mexican joint in Fort Worth. They have the best chips and queso! Thicker chip made in house with spicy salsa. Every entrée I’ve had is superb. My fave dish is brisket taco, and the customized enchilada platter.

David and his staff are wonderful. The food is always hot and fresh and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are having dinner with e tended family. Our server tonight was Maribel and she was completely attentive and most friendly! This is our go to restaurant for a unique and fresh Tex Mex menu.

We brought my mother-in-law on Valentine’s Day. Exceeded my expectations! From the outside it looked like it was closed but we decided to give it a try. We took my mother-in-law(who is a VERY picky, older, Mexican woman) and she LOVEDIT. We all did! For 3 people the bill was only $ 75 with an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Everyone was so nice too! And the atmosphere is a mix of modern and cozy. Highly recommend!

My family lives in the nearby neighborhood. Mi Cocula is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Fort Worth. The food is excellent and the friendliness of the staff makes this place special. We love it! Try the authentic dishes. Soaps, Tinga, etc. also, the guacamole is amazing.

My sister and I tried the fajitas. They were tasty. The meat was a bit tougher than I prefer, but the meal was overall very delicious. The refried black beans and rice sides were very good. They do not serve pintos. My husband had tapatio and thought it was really great. It had chorizo which was good and not too greasy(as chorizo can be). He thought spicy level was very flavorful but not overpowering. Portions were plenty but not huge. Service was friendly. Food took a long time, as made-to-order tends to. I will definitely come again!

Fresh, delicious, excellent service at this wonderful interior Mex place in an unassuming strip center in Ridglea. My sister and her hubby moved into the neighborhood awhile back and have been regulars ever since. Mi Cocula is a must on each of my Fort Worth visits now; super fresh ceviche, guac, crunchy, yummy chips and hot salsa, delicious home made margaritas(tart, like I like ‘em), a variety of enchiladas and tacos, chiles rellenos(topped with fresh poblano ranchero sauce instead of cheese), real Mexican delights like sopes or gorditas, chicken tinga or brisket tacos. They also serve decent wine, which makes my lil’ sis a very happy diner. It’s a must-try, all you DFW dwellers.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant… I will be back! After reading other Unilocal reviews I decided to give it a try! First…the service! Beyond good! I never asked for a refill of anything. The food was fresh, hot and very good! The chips were fresh and very crunchy. The hot sauce was a little hot for my taste(I don’t like things TOO spicy) but it did have great flavor! Menu prices are very affordable. The restaurant was very clean! I recommend it to anyone!

This is one of the best Mexican food places in DFW! Seriously. This is not your usual Tex Mex with predictable sauces, nor is it your«upscale» Mexican food where you pay way too much for Tex Mex with unpredictable sauces. No, Mi Cocula is a very authentic Mexican experience which reminds me of my culinary adventures in Northern and Central Mexico. The service is excellent, and while my wife and I are working our way through the menu we have yet to find something that isn’t amazing. The Cubano is awesome, the Nachos are how Nachos should be, and the drinks and service are better than average. Head to West Fort Worth and give this a try, you won’t be sorry!

Great service. Spicy salsa, crispy chips. I had the Sopas, they were incredible. BF had the Pollo Tacos & they were good but not great, mainly because he tried my Sopas and liked them more.

Seriously good tacos at this place, and it’s so much more appealing inside than you’d think from the exterior, which is plain, and the remote location. Tacos al pastor are some of the best I’ve found in FW; ditto the brisket tacos. Chile sauces alongside were made with care. I really hope this place gets more attention and survives in a less-than-exciting locale.

I started out skeptical, venturing just a little further away from downtown Fort Worth than I ordinarily do for good eats. Walking in, we were greeted by a bright-eyed hostess who was uncommonly welcoming. Starting with the most important part of any Mexican restaurant outing, the chips and salsa; I wouldn’t say these were the best I’ve ever had, but certainly above average. The salsa resembled more of a hot sauce than a true salsa, which I am a fan of. Our waitress was warm and friendly, providing us with drink and food recommendations that were on-point. Margaritas are a BIG thumbs up. They are plenty strong, tequila forward, but good flavor and drinkability are not forgotten… definitely had two. For the entrée I ordered the sopes, basically a tostada, except instead of a fried tortilla, you get a fried corn cake/tortilla hybrid stacked with beans, pork, cheese, sour cream, lettuce and other fixings. This dish gets a solid recommendation from me. A couple odd things I noted. First, the chairs are extremely comfortable. I don’t know why this seems to be so hard for restaurants, but Mi Cocula got it right, it’s noticeable. Second, the food did take just a hair longer to come out than I would have expected, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Overall, Mi Cocula is a great choice for Mexican if you’re willing to risk venturing outside of the downtown bubble and you’re happy to walk away with a healthy buzz.

Delicious! Had read great reviews and it’s super close to my house so I’ve been waiting to try it out. The atmosphere is clean and fresh. My only suggestion would be that they need new table clothes — clothes of any color — or lots of colors — but not brown vinyl. Other than that it’s clean and fresh. Our waitress, Jackie, was delightful. She really was interested in us enjoying the food, and made good suggestions. I had the sopes– which were delicious! My friend had basically a sampler platter –and everything was good! It was happy hour and we got a margarita and a sangria — and both were very good and not water down for happy hour. I’ve always wanted to be a «regular» someplace– I think this might be my place.

Mi Cocula is new to the Camp Bowie area. It sits behind Taco Cabana and it can almost be missed. I decided to give it a try today with all the good reviews. No menu or website though. I should have gotten pictures of the menu. Bad Krista. It’s difficult though when your waitress is watching you like a hawk. Anyway, so lunch is served from 11a-4pm. You can order from regular or lunch menu. They had mostly enchiladas on the lunch menu. Happy Hour is Tues-Thurs, I believe from 4−7pm. They had several appetizers such as queso, queso fundido, ceviche, and brisket. Their regular menu had several steak entrees, fish, enchiladas, gorditas, tacos, and so much more. I really liked the salsa. It had a good flavor and the perfect kick to it. The chips were fresh and not the thin kind. The queso was okay. I got the beef fajitas. I was excited to see mostly black beans on the menu and not refried. I LOVE black beans. The beef was dry. It was a cheap cut of meat from what I could tell. The black beans seriously disappointed me. They lacked in flavor and pretty much tasteless. Salt and salsa perked them up, but they still needed help. It’s a little sad to say, but TC has better fajitas. The waitress was really nice and even boxed up my left overs. Maybe it’s just me. 16 other reviews being 4 – 5 stars. That’s what I get for trying to be healthy at a mexican restaurant. I guess. They had some pretty tasty looking items on their menu. I would be back to give them a try again, definitely not the fajitas. They’ve been open since August of 2014… so maybe they need more time?

Great service, good food freshly prepared, and a pleasant experience — that’s it in a nutshell. This place is not in the best location as its behind another building just off Camp Bowie. The parking lot was also under construction, so we had to navigate around the yellow tape to get in. Once inside, however, all was well. The restaurant is clean and fresh. The food is of the style of Mexico, not TexMex. We went there last Thursday, Feb. 5th(7:00) and were told it was still happy hour, so several of our appetizers were discounted. The queso was good, as was the guacamole. The ceviche was outstanding and super fresh. I’ll get that for my main dish next time. I had the Cheese Chili Relleno which was okay but not as good as the beef version which was also ordered. The menu was lengthy, so plenty to choose from. Our waiter was especially attentive and friendly, keeping our water glasses full and fulfilling any requests we had. Can’t wait to go back.
