My favorite place to eat. I sit out on the front patio eating beef ribs and people walk by on the sidewalk and look at me and occasionally I hear them say something like«that sure looks good«. I just smile and keep on eating.

Like me, you’re probably visiting Fort Worth. You’re looking for some decent Texas barbecue and you stumble on Riscky’s. Yeah some of the reviews are hyper critical. Others are overflowing with praise. I rolled the dice and tried it. I asked my server to bring out the best meal Riscky’s served. The squashed pulled pork sandwich and nasty potato salad that she served gave me pause. This is the best you have? Really? This isn’t good Texas barbecue, not even close. Keep searching. I wish I would’ve.

Decent place to get food. The barbecue was really not that great, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich basket and was very unimpressed. I’ve had food from my high school cafeteria that tasted better and was a more filling meal. Pork tasted a little weird, really not sure how to put it, and even the Mac and cheese I got on the side was disappointing. The waiter we had was very nice but the atmosphere was kind of awkward. Some staff were scolding each other in the dining area, someone bussing the table spilled a full cup of tea all over the place, and I just wanted to get out. Two stars. Not the WORST restaurant, but not great.
Stayed across the street on a business trip and tried this place out for dinner. Had the combo brisket and shrimp and had to try the fried corn to start. Everything was delicious. The fried corn was unique(to me at least) and great. The brisket was tender and daily lean. The sauce topped everything off nicely. I would definitely come here again!

I was happily greeted by the hostess who sat me in an appropriate location near the bar for one. The waitress was accommodating and friendly. I ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich and Texas fries. The waitress explained what Texas fries were to me since I’m from California and I was not familiar with that term. [covered in onions & Jalapeño’s] Everything was going so well, and then there it was, a soggy pulled pork sandwich on bread with non-existant barbeque sauce and over-salted fries. I inhaled the sandwich in 3 bites and attempted to enjoy the fries. Overall the food was mediocre at best. I really liked the waitress and her happy demeanor. I wish I could say the food was better but it wasn’t. I’ll be skipping this place in the future!

Came to Riscky’s with the expectation that it was authentic and one-of-a-kind. Little did I know there are a bunch of these all over the Ft. Worth area. Service was great — they were very kind and welcoming to our group of 15 who came here within less than an hour of closing time. Perhaps us arriving at closing time was why the food wasn’t spectacular. Besides the corn nuggets, the food was just ok. I sampled a bunch of different items from my friends’ plates and while they were good, none of them wowed me. The corn nuggets though, I could eat those for days! So good! Prices are pretty decent(less than $ 10 for all you can eat ribs), service is great, but the food is okay. I’d probably skip out next time I’m in town.

Wifey and I flew into Dallas to see your daughters. One daughter was going to a party so my other daughter suggested we go to Fort Worth, a town that I’ve always wanted to visit. Hungry we were, decided on barbecue and figured Ricky’s might be a good place since Texas is known for BBQ. Whoa — It was great! We tried the sampler and it was delicious, especially the brisket. Risky’s was EXACTLY what were looking for and I can’t wait to go there again. One really can’t go wrong at Riscky’s!!!

Decent bbq place. Was directed here with the fam because most places had a long wait time. Service was fast and food didn’t disappoint.

All you can eat beef ribs for $ 12! Sounds great doesn’t it? It’s not. Meat was dry and had no flavor at all. Maybe I came on the wrong day. Coke tastes good though.

Came in here to grab a quick bite. Loved the décor of this place. Very Texan in my opinion(i’m in an out of towner…). The server was a sweet lady and made me feel welcome/comfortable. I ordered the brisket sandwich and beans. I liked my sandwich and it was dripping with BBQ sauce! :9 The beans were alright; I wish it was a little more flavored.

So I’m a bit confused by some of the ratings for this place. I eat a lot of BBQ all over the country. This is truly one of the better TXBBQ joints. The brisket was well smoked and had a wonderful char to the outside while still being moist. The sauce is served warm and on the side. It’s an outstanding sauce. The jalapeño on the plate allows you to add your own heat. The beans were kind of bland but the salt crusted baked potato was perfect. This is NOT Carolina or St Louis style smoked meat. It is very good though.

This place looks great inside and provides a Texas country feel with wonderful service. The food was another story. A group of us were visiting and since Texas is known for the BBQ and we couldn’t leave without it. Needless to say the food here was a major disappointment. Those of us that got the ribs and brisket were extremely disappointed, the only part of our meals that we could eat was the salad.

I had the brisket meal and I could honestly eat it every day of the year. I’m not sure why this place gets a 3 star because they’re a five in my book. Meal Overview: Brisket– wonderful Fries– better than potato salad Beans– I’ve never had better Slaw– sad and depressing Overall it was good and it was nice to have toast with the meal. I feel this place is very underrated. Give it a shot and get the brisket!

We were on our way to Billy Bob’s to see the Toadie’s. So we stopped along the way to get dinner. This place looked busy so we thought it might be good. We walked in and the place was packed, but not on a wait. The décor is that of your quintessential bar b que joint. Wagon wheels on the walls and other country paraphernalia. I have to say the best part about the place was the service. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Everyone in our party ordered one of his favorites and they were all good. He also was very personable and friendly. I had the smoked catfish tacos. Um, they were good but I wish they were wrapped in corn tortillas and not flour. The hubby had the three meat sandwich. It was great because he was able to sample each of the meats. I have to say my favorite part of the meal was the onion rings. they were the bomb diggity! The were lightly fried in batter that was not heavy. It was a perfect balance of batter and onion.

This is my second time here and I will continue to come back. The food is very reasonably priced and portions are large. Great staff every time. We went on a Sunday night and had all you can eat beef ribs. Yum!

Ehhh standard BBQ joint nothing special but conveniently located across from hotel Ricky’s didn’t have good Unilocal reviews so i didn’t bother ordering the brisket the restaurant claims is good(and i’m glad because my friends weren’t too thrilled with the bbq) —chicken club salad: chicken was moist surprisingly! went well with the dressing but the corona bottles on the table actually hold bbq sauce which add a nice flavor as well one gripe: food took a while to come out even though they weren’t busy

Let me say this. Service sucked. Took forEVER to get the bartender to take my order and then I was like for $ 30+ it better be some damn good bbq. Sadly I’ve had better and DFW area needs to have some hidden bbq gems because this place is NOT all that it cracked up to be. Their bbq sauce had cinnamon in it !?! Like GROSSS who in the hell wants cinnamon on their bbq. There wasn’t too big of a smoke line in the brisket. I found their sausage, chicken and brisket VERY oily. I will not be back not only because of the food but the customer service was poor from front door to back of the house.
