I’ve bought products from here numerous times but the one time I wanted to exchange a preworkout powder because it was hard as rocks, I was denied. They request an original receipt and said they do not exchange anything that’s not GNC brand. They admit they can look up my transaction with my gold card but it wasn’t necessary because they wouldn’t exchange it anyway. I bought the ON Gold Standard Pre-workout. The powder came in a big a big clump. I’m extemely disappointed with GNC and their policies.

My friends and I had an awful experience at this GNC location. I have frequented this store for at least 8 years now to buy my workout supplements. The usual Indian lady who I always see work there is very nice and helpful. However this last time I went, there was a new girl who was working. From the second we stepped in, we felt like she was staring and dogging at us, which made us feel uncomfortable from the start. We played it off thinking she was just keeping an eye out on the store which is okay. I ask her where the pre workout supplements were and she just told me they were all around the store and I would have to look around to find them. That wasn’t very helpful… so then I start to look at a certain brand and asked her a few questions regarding the product. I ended up not buying it since it was a bit pricey and put it back on the shelf. We began to leave the store and when We were at the door, she yells across the store and asks us if we took the jar of pre workout we were just looking at, basically accusing me and my friends of stealing. I was pretty upset by this treatment but I chose not to make a scene and just told her respectfully that I did not take the product and I had put it back. I’ve never been accused of something like that before and I refuse to be treated like that again at this store. This place has lost a true, loyal customer because of an ignorant employee.

GNC has always been very over priced. As a bodybuilder who consumes many supplements I prefer to check into GNC occasionally to see what they offer then buy online. I believe they mark everything up simply because of their name. Check in to see what they offer so you know it’s safe and buy it literally any where else

Went at 3:20 pm on a Wednesday afternoon, front door was locked with a sign saying«be back in 5 minutes» and from my guess could only have been written by a toddler. Whatever, I’ll wait. 20 minutes later I decided that this was the longest 5 minutes of my life and left without anything. Won’t be going back to that one…

This particular branch of GNC is a convenient stop for me. It’s always clean, well lit, and carries what I am usually looking for. The owner is very kind and is quirky in his own way.

I prefer The Vitamin Shoppe over GNC for most of my supplementation needs but the one thing I like about GNC, or at least most GNC stores, is that they clearance a lot of their protein bars and energy drinks at the end of the month to make room for new shipments. They don’t have as wide a selection of protein bars and energy drinks as Vitamin Shoppe, but most GNCs carry the brand I like, Optimum Nutrition. Near the end of October I decided to stock up on some protein bars so I walked into this GNC for the first time in ages and was disappointed and I’ve listed my reasons below. 1. SERVICE: I used to visit this particular GNC often when I first started working out over 10 years ago and I remembered why I stopped visiting this particular GNC. I’m not sure if the Indians working here are the owners or the owner hired Indians because he assumed they were business savvy, but the people who work here have no knowledge of supplementation or fitness. They don’t look like they’ve worked out a day in their lives. Ok, you don’t have to be a fitness guru to know about supplements, but the Indian(maybe Pakistani) lady who worked on this particular day had no clue about anything. I was interested in picking up some calcium supplements and wanted to get an idea of the differences among 4 different products and she had no clue. She pointed to the most expensive one and said«this one is good». No explanation as to why and no asking questions about my current supplementation 2. SELECTION/VARIETY: I actually like the GNC on Beach and Edinger. They have decent selection and that particular store actually revived my interest in GNC and I figured all GNCs offered the same goods at the same prices, just like Vitamin Shoppe. The selection of protein bars and energy drinks was piss poor. Pretty much the same selection you can get at 7 – 11 and I’m willing to bet that the prices at 7 – 11 are way better. 3. PRICES: This particular store didn’t offer any deals on anything. There was the standard buy one get one 50% off for a couple of items, but there were no specials on protein bars or anything else. Way more expensive than Vitamin Shoppe without the specials. 4. ONELASTNOTE: When the lady followed me to the protein bar aisle and I told her I was looking for the Optimum Nutrition brand. She abruptly told they didn’t carry it and moved to another customer without even saying excuse me.
