This small town cinema packs lots of surprises! Comfortable cushy seats, you can order pizzas and they serve both wine and beer. I spent this past weekend at the Hill Country Film Festival that showcased films from Texas and all over the world. The festival offered opportunities to see some of the best indie films in a cool, fun environment. The theaters are nice. Each seat has a place to put your beverage and the seats themselves rock back a bit so you can get comfortable. Props to Fritztown for supporting local. They pour Texas wines that run $ 5 – 8 a glass and they have large cups if you opt to double up. They also serve Texas craft beers, domestics and Austin Eastciders. Another thing I thought was cool about this cinema is the vintage cars parked in front of the marquee. Fritztown is one of many gems in Fredericksburg that you should add to your to try list.

Fritztown is a charming movie theater. They have everything you need. It’s been clean every time we have gone. The employees are kind and it seems well staffed. The concessions are pricey, however nothing unheard of for a movie theater. We never have trouble getting a parking spot or a good seat. We really enjoy Friztown Cinema.

This is a great little theater but I’m left to believe they don’t want anybody coming, especially from the south. Their marquee only shows movies on its north side, their website is down, finding movie times is near impossible and they never have late shows.

My husband and I visited Fredricksburg for our honeymoon and we had a blast. We got kind of bored one night and decided to see a movie. This theater is better than any other one I’ve been to. The prices are GREAT compared to regular chains. Popcorn and soda are given in generous portions and are acutally CHEAPER than other places. Plus the popcorn was the best I’ve ever had(and I’m a popcorn snob.) We ended up seeing about 3 movies on our honeymoon because we loved this place so much. It was during the day so it was pretty much empty, but it was incredibly clean, as were the restrooms. I can’t wait to go back!

I brought a film to the Hill Country Film Festival and The Fritztown Cinema hosted all of the screenings. What a great little movie theater! Very nice screening rooms with good sound and flawless projection, tasty craft beers served at the concession stand, a really nice staff, and a commitment to mixing in some indie films and more offbeat fare along with the blockbusters that play there. Every little town should be lucky enough to have an independent theater as cool and well run as Fritztown!

Clean, cheap, and lots of refreshment selection for a tiny theater. They offer discounts for students and active duty, what a deal! The only drawback was the AC was flipped on just as we got there(for the first matinée movie) but it got nice and cool as the movie started. 3 Icee flavors for a 4 screen theater is impressive.

Very nice surprise on the outskirts of town! New theater; comfy, rocking theater seats.
