Does not smell too good and is very specific about what they sell. If you like horrible smells and assorted spices, this is the place for you.

Kickshaws, I was pleased to come across your delightful store while visiting Fredericksburg this past weekend! Your store had a lovely selection of natural and local foods, as well as prepared sandwiches and salads. I’m very health conscious and was craving some healthy food to stash in my hotel room. I bought an alfalfa salad to eat for lunch and it was exactly what I wanted!
I saw that there’s a Kickshaw’s Kitchen in the works, which I hope happens as I would definitely look forward to any offerings you have on any future visits to FXBG to see our family.
Please keep up the good work, there will always be a need for a store like yours! I was so happy to find you-my trip was all the better for it!

Awesome location to get local, healthy foods. Their selection of meat and eggs was far better than most places I have found. We also indulged in their vegan Tiramasu cupcakes which were ridiculously amazing. This is a great place to get a variety of spices in whatever quantity you need. The pricing is pretty typical standard with regard to locally grown, organic groceries.

Flavored kombucha by the jar or cup full! I tried the Kombuchai and it was very good. Sour, spicy and good fizz. You can buy by the jar or by ounce/cup. A cup full was around $ 4. They change their flavors based on popularity. The other flavor was regular on the day we went.
I thought this would be a bigger grocery store. They have a vegan cookie case by the cash register, which is kinda cool. Saw some obscure items, like grape butter. Prices are a bit steep for me, considering I could probably get similar items at Wegmans. I bought some cinnamon chickpeas by the cash register also. I haven’t had chickpeas in snack form before so I wasn’t sure how they were suppose to taste. However, I didn’t like them because of their stale, hard texture.

I vastly prefer shopping at this store to slogging through many of the «organic”/natural aisles you can find at your big box grocery stores. Kathy has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to each item in her store and has personally hand-selected everything there. The freshness of her products is outstanding as well as the selection!
In addition, she also has revolutionized the way I see okra! (Seems silly, I know, but it’s true!)
Also, her grass fed, grass finished beef is phenomenal. Once I got the hang of cooking it (different from the fatty, corn fed beef you’re used to), it’s flavor is incomparable like… (well, you get the idea).
I will be going to restock my kombucha (on tap!!!), my milk (recyclable bottle for a discount), and my coffee in a day or so. I can’t get enough!
