Still can find things here you can’t get anywhere; potato dumplings, apple fritter mix, real deal German condiments. The meats are fresh and recall an era of the butcher shop 30 years ago — sausages are beyond compare. Started out coming for Oktoberfest, but after«discovering» many favorite items, shop all year round. They open early in the morning and just started Sunday hours.

Discovered this gem several months ago at the recommendation of a friend. Have been coming back ever since. Whether it’s a small order for that week, a full 8 pound Brisket for having family over(the nicest piece of meat I’ve ever seen-check out he picture!) or giant platters for any event, Karl Ehmer is the place to go. I have had them cater several events and everyone has become addicted. From the home made salads to the freshly cut bread on the 8 different sandwiches they provided people were begging to take home leftovers. The friendly staff makes the drive over worth it(quick and easy from the city) or if your local… well them lucky you!

I hope this neighborhood store stays around forever. I grew up in this neighborhood but have been away most of my adult life. I’ve recently moved back and started looking for a local source of good meats for my grill and smoker. These guys have the thickest steaks, entire slab cut to your preference, the best veal hot dogs with that real beefy snap, they’ve got big beef bones for your broth, they’ve got sausages of different kinds, and a ton of other stuff I’ve got to get a better look at the next time I’m in the shop. Very helpful family there, no pressure, no pretension. Seriously, just come by for some hot dogs, you’ll never buy the big name brand stuff again. While you’re here, get some good mustard to go with it.

I have been shopping at the Patchogue location since I was a kid, and have always seen this location since it is visible from the Long Island Expressway every time I went to the city. But now that I live in Queens, this is my main location. I always get their head cheese, bloodwurst, and bratwurst. And my absolute favorites are their smoked sausages and leberkase. I hope this place never closes!

Nice shop with all german products, fresh meat, fresh dairy prepared meals, baked goodies, german bread, etc. Extremely friendly staff, don’t expect to stay quiet during your visit, they want to converse. A little spendy, but it’s all imported or custom made, so I get it. Loaded up on sweets and nice healthy bread here. Thanks guys!

I have going to this store for decades and I am sorry to report it is no longer the quality store it use to be. High prices, low quality.

Buyer beware! Terrible experience here. So, I purchased a Groupon and spent 25 for 50 worth of meat. I live in the area so this was a no brainer. I called the shop and called in my order for some wings and he tells me it’s 2.99 per pound and that he would call me when the wings came in. They call about an hour later and there is no mention of any change in price. When I arrive, he rings me up for 3.99 per pound claiming there was a change in price. What a crock of bologna. To top it off, I get home and 8 of the 10 pounds of wings are mutant sized… I’m talking huge inedible wings. They were of substandard quality. They looked like injected GMO wings. Yuck. Never again! Shame, shame, shame. Oh course I called within fifteen minutes and they claim there is nothing that they can do because I didn’t check before I left. These are the same people who wanted to make sure it was packaged before I arrived so I didn’t have an opportunity to check the size. I’ll stick to Ottomanelli’s on Union tpke. This place is terrible.

I had the roast beef and the german potato salad today, I usually go to the hot dog cart. Nice old fashion store. I think they have three locations under different names.

Who knew this meat paradise was right in my neighborhood? Certainly not me or else I’d have been here a long time ago. A family owned business(bonus points for that) that specializes in German meats. They’ve got it all and a lot of it is made in house. It’s also extremely fresh. They’ve also got a variety of packaged meats and cheeses. They’ve also go condiments galore as well. I did a quick glance and counted 15 different types of mustard. I made a quick trip here today and got s sandwich of black forest double smoked ham, beef bologna(with actual beef in it) and a sliced sausage with some stinky havarti on rye. Absolutely delicious! I also got some Landjäger which is a smoked sausage eaten like jerky. A great meaty snack they I’d never had before. It’s nice to know I have a local butcher now and that they carry all the things I love including oxtails cuz I make a mean oxtail ragu. Really awesome place.

If you are German you are going to love this place. They have all kinds of German sausages and meats but also a nice variety of German groceries. Get you Graubrot, Rollmops, Quark, Haribos, Tütensuppen, Konserven und Weihnachtsgebäck here!

Anytime I need meat to impress I go here. The hot dogs, steaks, chickens, and Euro sausages are Amazing! I really love the hotdogs, they are long and skinny and have the skin. just how I like em! … I also pick up bones for my dog, she likes them too! A little pricey but you get what you pay for, and its nice supporting local family owned businesses, and you know they eat what they sell so its great!

THEYHAVEEUROPEANFANTA. SHIPMENTSCOMEINEVERYFRIDAY. Ok, now that you know that secret, I should let you know this place is the best kept secret in Queens. Just a few doors down from the Bagel Oasis lies this German butcher shop that, not only has some of the best foreign treats and goods, but also the best freshly-sliced roast beef sandwich I’ve ever had. I’m not kidding, it was the best roastbeef sandwich I’ve ever had, for only $ 7 on a huge hero. I have only had European Fanta one other time in the US, and that’s when I found a guy in Texas who had one case that he shipped to me for a steep price. Yeah, I was desparate. Great candies, goodies, sauces, and other German novelties, as well. If you’re in the neighborhood, you MUST check this place out. If you’re not in the neighborhood, travel and check out Karl Ehmer. Amazing.
