It’s pretty reliable for a last minute BBQ and in walking distance from my house. The variety is good and the is meat fresh. Normally I get the bulgogi and spicy pork butt with heads on lettuce. Tip: They up charge on produce when they feel like it. During 4th of July I purchased a head of lettuce for $ 1 and when I came back an hour later to purchase more the same guy charged $ 1.75. It’s not a huge deal but worth mentioning.

Small shop but lots of fresh meat choices — got the bulgoki and it was great. They also have shabu shabu meat.

The meat here is amazing. If you ever want quality meat to cook at home, this is the place to go to. They have all types of beef, marinated and not marinated. They have pork(and no matter how long you overcooked it, its still not tough ’ I know from experience lol). They also have marinated spicy chicken which is also very fresh and not dry! The price is good, a little expensive but good meat. You can also ask them to half the orders, so even if you see it packaged, you can ask them to give you half of the package. On your way out, grab a vanilla ice cream with red bean paste fish from the freezer next to the cashier. So good. $ 1.50

Good fresh meat! They have lots of cuts available and can get large quantities freshly cut on the spot(about 10 – 15 minutes). Once, we were driving up to the Poconos and we were worried the meat may go bad and they packed it in lots and lots of ice for us and loaded it up in our cars too. This was my go-to place for all meats from LA galbi to ribeye steak when I lived in Bayside. Since then I’ve found a meat market closer to home for when I’m making steak, but for Korean dishes, I still make a trip out to Northern Meat Market. Sometimes, they will give you free scallion or tofu or BBQ sauce with your purchase.(^.^)

I LOVETHISPLACE! And… they’re open when other meat markets aren’t open. Like… on Christmas Day. And on New Years day. Yes, we made a trip over there on both days, getting meat for holiday dinners! LOVEIT! The butcher guy is SUPER friendly(no idea if he speaks English by the way), and they have everything you need for a Korean BBQ feast! Lettuce and sesame leaves for ssam, and beautifully packaged beef ribs(Kalbi), and our all time favorite — spicy pork bbq(dweh ji kalbi). SOAWESOME. My grandmother is now obsessed with this place(we’re now buying half hotel pans of the stuff to bring over when we go over now!). ASAM I!!! Wish I had a place like this up in Boston. Nothing would make me happier than a gift of beef from this place. Fo’reals. :) And on Christmas day they had them beautifully packaged and ribboned up! WORD.

Also known as Bayside Meat Market(at least that’s what it says on their business awning), this shop specializes in main ingredients necessary for Asian cooking particularly, Korean. Our family loves cooking sukiyaki and Korean barbeque short ribs & bulgogi. But in our area up North, it is impossible to get access to any store that would sell the type of meat or cut needed for these recipes. Thus, every time we make a trip down the city, we make it a point to visit an Asian supermarket. And thanks to our uncle and aunt who live in Bayside, we have discovered Bayside Meat Market. Their specialty meats are neatly packed and arranged behind freezer compartments. If you know what you want or need, the meats are clearly labeled. If not, the proprietors would gladly help you out. I found what I needed right away. As of writing, their rib-eye slices are priced at $ 7.99/lb and their short rib slices are $ 8.59/lb. And upon check-out, the gentleman even gave me a free bottle of their bulgogi marinade! They accept credit cards and they have parking at the back, too.
