This place is a gem. We had the spicy noodle beef soup, it was delicious. It was flavorful but the heat wasn’t overpowering. We also had the chicken wings, scallion pancake with cheese and spring rolls and they were equally delicious. The place was pretty empty while we were there. I hope this isn’t how it is on a regular basis. People need to definitely and enjoy this place and enjoy the 5% discount when you check in with Unilocal

My 1st question after eating here is: why wasn’t this place packed full of diners? I had one of the best bowl of noodles here… ever…maybe even the best bowl of soup. I ordered the Szechuan Beef bowl with thin noodles to-go. When I arrived at about 3:00PM on a Saturday, the place was empty. I found this surprising considering the favorable reviews I read on Unilocal. It wasn’t the busiest time of the day for a restaurant so I chalked up the lack of customers to that. From the moment I walked in, service was great and everyone was friendly. I didn’t have to wait long for my order and when it came I was surprised to see that they packed my noodles and broth in their own respective plastic containers which was a change from the customary foam containers most restaurants use. The restaurant also appeared to be very clean and comfortable. Now on to the soup: definitely one of the best I’ve had from any restaurant. The beef was extremely tender, reminding me of the fall-apart tender pot roasts my grandmother would make when I was a child. The broth was seasoned perfectly. Some people have complained about the oil content but I think it belongs there. If you’ve ever stepped up your packaged ramen noodle game to the more expensive stuff then you know when you pay for the higher quality packaged noodles they always come with an oil packet along in addition to the broth packet. The noodles were excellent in both texture and taste. I didn’t find anything wrong with any of it. This is an easy place to find that provides ample parking. Combine that with the fact that they provide excellent customer service, a product that is not only unique but tastes extraordinary; you’re looking at a five star joint right here. I will definitely be back and needless to say comes highly recommended by me.

Went here because a good friend said their noodles were unique and something different than the usual phở that Fresno has available. Had their Q Style Beef Noodle Soup($ 8.50) and it was delicious. Didnt need to season the broth or add anything else, reminds me of chinese roast duck flavoring. If you want something new, something different that the usual. Give this place a try.

Love the homemade noodles. Hubby enjoyed the chicken wings, and I love the scallion pancake! The staff were very attentive. My water was filled often and at least two servers waited on us. They were very warm.

Fresh noodles made before your eyes in Fresno… It seems like they are making noodles as you order, so it is very fresh to say the least. I ordered the Sichuan beef noodles. which was a bowl of steaming red goodness. Great depth of flavor and not to spicy. It comes with baby bok choy and beef tendon parts, which tend to be a little fatty. Noodles are great, maybe a little salt to give them more flavor. Service is good and the food comes out quick. A must to try the other dishes

This place is pretty good. I really like the texture of the noodle for the spicy beef noodle dish. But for the broth, there was too much oil in it for me and the beef scent and taste was too strong. As for the dumplings/pot stickers, the sauce was delicious. It was probably one of the best dumpling sauce in town so far. Everything else we ordered was good but wasn’t great. As for customer service, the server was nice and friendly. He kept our water glass full and always made sure to check up on us.

I was instantly impressed when I walked through the front door and saw the chef making noodles and dumplings by hand! Wow! Not only as that impressive but every dish I’ve tasted thus far has been too notch both times I’ve eaten at Noodle Q. On my first visit my friend and I started off with the steamed dumplings and ended with traditional Chinese noodle soup. The pork dumplings were deliciously flavored with a slight hint of fennel. The sauce it was paired with was sweet, savory, and tangy loveliness! The second time I started with the fried dumplings and was greeted with the same lovely flavors crisped to perfection.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I was drawn in by the super cute logo, but I am glad it did! You can’t beat delicious fresh noodles! My husband and I ordered the Q Style Beef Noodle Soup, and the Q style Lo Mein. Everything was great! My husband(the picky eater) and I happily shared our dishes with eachother. The service was excellent, as well. The only suggestion I have is to add more veggitarian items to the menue. As far as I could tell, there was only one, the Vegetable Tofu Curry Rice. I have lots of vegetarian/vegan friends that I would love to bring here!

Great homemade fresh noodles with food chew. definitely try the beef roll(sliced braised beef wrapped in a crispy scallion pancake) and the crispy non– greasy egg rolls. Sichuan beef noodle soup is awesome… not too spicy… keeping mind this is traditional chinese so you will also get fatty as well as lean pieces of beef and braised tendon. Also worth mentioning are the curry noodles with shrimp. Most mains are between 7 and 9 dollars. Appetizers range from 4 to 6 dollars. Very friendly service. Check this place out!

While the freshness of the noodles was a most welcome change, I found the meat to be exceptionally fatty, the broth rather plain and greasy(from all the untrimmed meat fat), and the overall taste lacking the umami punch that often accompanies soups across several Asian genres. Let me be clear: The meal was not terrible and I can see how other people would like it, but it utterly underwhelmed me to the point that I will likely not return. Let’s not forget that besides poke, Asian noodles, bowls, and soups are the hottest development in the California dining scene in the last five years. To compete, you’ve got to really rise above the competition. This patently did not. The service is attentive and kind and the restaurant itself is clean and inviting. I give them props for that.

A gem of a restaurant for Fresno – great, made-to-order, Chinese beef noodle soup! I’m bummed my camera app decided to blow up on me or I’d have taken some pics of the food. Lack of photos notwithstanding, the soup was excellent. Broth is cooked for over 30 hours and the noodles are prepared just for one’s order. You don’t have to drive to SF to get good soup if you’re in Fresno. Just a tip, one can find occasional groupons for Noodle Q as well. I’ll be back for sure!

I really wanted to give this place 5-stars, but one little thing left me disappointed and unfortunately it was the first impression that left me wondering about my decision to follow fellow Unilocalers to this interesting place. I came in with the notion that this would not be an ordinary noodle place and was totally expecting something different. I must admit I was not disappointed. I began by ordering a Thai tea. I was very suspicious when it came out extreamly quick. It was void of the standard two tone colors you see with the milk mixing with the tea. The taste was very flat and missing flavor. Alsmost seemed as if it came from a dispernser. Is there such a thing for Thai tea? I was tempted to ask if it did, but didn’t get the nerve to do it since I hadn’t ordered my food yet. Thankfully I ordered the beef noodle soup which was diffierent, but tasty. The noodles did taste fresh indeed and I was pleseantly surprised by beef roll which my server recommended. Overall the food left me pleased and very satisfied. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for their drink. Put a little more love and attention to detail to your Thai tea and I will gladly give you that 5-star I think you deserve. And thank you to those who recommcended a truly diffirent, new and tasty place to enjoy.

Came back for a second visit Ordered the peanut sauce noodles, sweet chili fish and pan fried lo mein with chicken and the beef rolls The beef rolls were excellent. Wrapped in a scallion pancake not a sesame pancake like I’d expect but still very good Peanut sauce noodles were unremarkable. Pea Nutty and bland. Would recommend they replace it with cold sesame noodles served with shredded chicken cucumber and bean sprouts. A summer staple in Chinese households and perfect for«sandal melting» summer days in Fresno Chicken lo mein was ok but nothing remarkable. Typical non threatening Chinese take out staple that most of Fresno demands Sweet chili fish tasty but just a fried fish fillet covered with sauce. Not a whole fried fish The Q beef noodles is still the best dish I’ve tried so far Will still go back for more Have to support places that push the culinary boundaries in Fresno

Noodle Q solid 3.7 What we ordered: –Beef Roll –Szechuan Beef Noodles(Wide noodles) –Regular beef noodles.(Thin Noodles) It’s impossible to think of any Asian food culture that’s devoid of noodles and the Chinese are no exception. The noodles serve here are made to order and are fresh. You can see chef make the noodles through a window into their kitchen. That in itself made the trip worthy. Now, Fresno has quite a bit of Cantonese restaurants(Imperial and Four Seasons) some Hunan and Szechuan(Hunan and Tsing Tao) but not yet one that can be called Taiwanese. Noodle Q is just that. I know that Hunan on Cedar and Shaw provides some Taiwanese dishes(like the green onion pancake, and the beef stew noodle) but the majority of dishes served at Noodle Q are Taiwanese. Back when I was young, ignorant, pompous and have yet to acquired a palette for the subtle flavors that food has to offer, I actually tried some Taiwanese beef noodles. I remember being unimpressed. All I can think of was how bland it was, how the noodle were thick, flavorless, and under-cooked. The meager protein that was provided did not meet my carnivorous needs. I thought to myself, I rather get a bowl of phở any day. But that opinion is no longer valid and Noodle Q showed me the way. Maybe it really is all in the noodles. I had the wide noodles and there’s a certain al dente aspect that was reminiscent of the homemade pasta I made months ago. There’s a certain bite to them that’s hard to explain. What can be said of them is that you can’t stop eating them. Good thing the servings are generous. My Szechuan soup I am afraid was not as tasty as the regular beef soup. What made the Szechuan soup different from the regular beef is the addition of the Szechuan Chili oil. The special ingredient in the chili oil is the Szechuan peppercorn(supposedly back in the days, you can only get these peppercorns in Szechuan). The only downside to this peppercorn is that it gives a numbing effect to the mouth. The soup isn’t so much spicy as it is more of an anesthesia. If you’re into that kinda sensation go for it. As I am a bit of a masochist, I enjoy pain, but numbing, not so much. I regret not ordering the regular beef soup because that was fantastic. The soup had a deep and hearty taste. It tasted as if a lot of care, a lot of time, basically a lot of love went into this soup making. Definitely recommended for everyone. The beef roll was huge. It was also tasty but a little more on the green healthy end, not as much protein as I envisioned. Easily that appetizer could have served 3 people. This is a unique eatery for Fresno. Everyone should give this place a try. At least once. I am looking to return and try some of their other appetizers and another bowl of noodles.

Having taken over the spot formerly occupied by the Phở Nazi, er… I mean Naked Fish(see my previous review of that abomination of a «restaurant»: ), I was somewhat skeptical of Noodle Q. However, as soon as I walked in, my misplaced skepticism was forgotten, as the new owners did a decent remodel of the space and(very smartly) put in a big window right in front where you can see your noodles being made right before your eyes as you wait for your table. I’ve been waiting for a new noodle joint and was only too happy to hear that Noodle Q was a Taiwanese style spot, so my family headed over on a cold night for some hot noodle soup. We ordered the beef noodle soup with wide noodles, wonton noodle soup, and the Q style beef stew rice as main entrees to share. We also got fried dumplings, scallion pancakes, and a beef roll as appetizers. The service was very friendly and attentive and the food came out hot and fresh. Everything was well-prepared, but the noodles weren’t quite as thick and chewy as I had hoped(being«homestyle fresh» and all…). Maybe next time I’ll ask to have them left a bit thicker, so they’ll have more«bite.» I really liked the appetizers(actually, perhaps even more than the soups): the scallion pancakes were a bit thicker/denser than the ones I’ve had before, but very crispy on the outside and a nice complement to the soups. The fried dumplings were also nice and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. And the beef roll(or «chinese burrito» as I also refer to it) was a really good combination of flavors, generously sized and stuffed with lots of beef, cilantro, cucumber, and hoisin sauce, all wrapped in the same dough as the scallion pancakes are made of. A great dish to share. All in all, this is a needed addition to Fresno’s Asian food scene.

It was raining and I craved some soup again. Walking in, the place was very clean and one of the first things you could see was the noodle maker; I was pleasantly surprised that they made their noodles in house. The Unilocal check in gives you 5% off your order which I used to my advantage! For appetizer we got the chicken wings with house sauce. I loved it! The sauce tasted like a fusion of BBQ with ginger and garlic and it worked so well. I got extra sauce on the side for my noodles! We also got the hot tea and thai coffee and they were good. For my meal I got the Schezwan beef noodles with wide noodles and extra veggies. There is alot of meat and it is prepared so that it melts in your mouth. I was expecting to be an array of veggies but I only received bok choy. When we got our bowls, they were huge. I only finished half and took the rest home. Now, the bowl comes with a spoon and chopsticks and this is where I struggled. The chopsticks are rather large and everything was dropping back into the bowl. I had to use my fork and spoon. Overall I loved this place! The price is very reasonable, portion sizes are large and the service is decent. The only thing I struggled with is the large chopsticks. I’m coming back to this place no questions asked!

I have been here a few times now so I am able to give a fair review. I really appreciate what they are trying to do here, produce an authentic experience with home made style Taiwanese food with a minimalistic approach. A huge plus is no MSG. The service here was good the few times before, today it was ¾ full with one server and the chef was out serving food as well, at least they are all very pleasant. This is a run down of the few things I have tried here Scallion pancake– crispy, not oily however a little doughy Wonton soup– handmade, delicious, a little atypical in beef broth but it works Chicken wings– horribly over-sauced and tangy, would avoid it Szechuan and House beef noodle soup– hand’s down the best in Fresno with their deep flavored beef soup and handmade noodles that you can custom the width Pad thai– I would pass on it. Rice noodles with no char or «wok» taste to it and there is no fish sauce taste(likely due to their msg policy) Chow mein– decently, generous ingredients just also lack a «wok» taste Overall I would come here mainly for their soups, everything else I have had is pretty average if not even below that. However it is still better to be the best at a category rather than being average at everything right? Once again, I appreciate what they are doing here. For those of us who cook as well, we know that it easy to cover up the lack of deep flavors with msg, this also their downfall with other dishes such as pad thai etc.

If you love soup, who in their right mind wouldn’t? Then Noodle Q is for you! Drop everything you’re doing and go try this place immediately! The restaurant was very clean and the gentleman who took care of us was very friendly and attentive. I would caution though sitting in the booths as they are very tight, I’m thin and I felt like my innards were getting crushed. Came here with two of my co-workers one of which got the Thai Iced, very delicious, first time having actually :/ Now onto the food I ordered pot stickers which were perfectly fried and the dipping sauce was on point! I also ordered the Schezuan Beef soup and man was it bomb! Broth was perfect, the noodles were excellent and the beef tender although a little too fatty for my liking. I must say though that I have found my spot to curb my noodle cravings. Definitely check it out my fellow Fresnans you won’t be disappointed!

Excited to try this place out and it was cool, but the soup didn’t exceed my expectations from all the fab reviews I read. My only main complaint was that it was soooo oily. Their spring rolls were good($ 4.95) but I’m not a fan of mushrooms which they had inside-from thinly sliced to a thick a** pieces. We had the Sichuan beef soup($ 8.50) and it had a good aroma and flavor, but daaaaaamn that’s some oily soup! If my lips suffered from any chapped or dryness, well, they are definitely hydrated now! Oh, and the chopsticks you used were huge and I have small hands so it was a bit of a challenge, but no biggie. Service was on point and our waiter was attentive for how many guests were there that night. Will go back, BUT I’ll try a rice dish next time. I won’t get their soup again.

I’m frequently asked what my favorite food is. I always answer NOODLESOUPS. Something about them makes me feel at ease and at peace with myself.(Way too cheesy I know, but it’s the way I feel. Haha). Whether it be Vietnamese Phở, Japanese or Korean Ramen, Laotian Kao Piek, and now added to the list Chinese/Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup! I ordered the Sichuan Beef Noodle soup because it had chili peppers next to the name. Although, to me there was no spice to it whatsoever. It had chili oil but I was expecting SPICY. However, it sadly was not. The beef was so tender and you can tell it was slowly simmered for hours. It was a generous portion as well. The broth wasn’t as flavorful as I would hoped it would be but I can taste the spices used. However, the main attraction that stole the whole show was the hand made noodles! You get to choose the size you want as well. You can just tell it was made with love and passion. It was cooked perfectly, tender yet had that springiness to it. Talk about perfection. I’m so excited to return and try other dishes as well. Let me know how you like it!
