Food has changed. Not as good as it used to be. Tasted stale. Quality of the food has gone down hill. Sad to say. We used to love this place.

Sat at table for 10 minutes without a server coming by. Asked about getting a server and was told«we spread think». After another 20 minutes without a server we left. Won’t be back.

Used to love this place. Was back in town for the holidays. Came in for lunch at 1:05 pm. We were seated and then never saw a waiter. Asked twice and watched two other tables get seated, get drinks, and place orders. We were told they were stretched think. We left. Never ate. Might be good. Who knows.

The people are nice but… this is not Chinese. No Chinese people working or eating there. The menu has no descriptions of the choices, just the name. Very oddly, the shrimp with lobster sauce has lots of shredded pork– never had that in the dish before. Two servers said there is no meat in the dish, but when they asked the kitchen they said it «may» have shredded pork. What does that mean, may? If you don’t like Chinese food, this may be the Chinese restaurant for you!

Underwhelming would be the best I would describe this food. Lack of flavor. Sizzling rice soup was hot water with finely chopped ingredients. Not good. Chicken salad, boring. Chow mein, just average. 1st time and last time. This really was a letdown after hearing so many great things about this place.

Very friendly welcome and service. Huge menu with so many choices. Order a drink to enjoy while choosing your meal ! They stock beer and a large list of wines as well. I’m having sweet and pungent chicken with shrimp lo mien. Tsingtao washes it all down, yum. The portions are gigantic ! The food is wonderful full of flavor. This spot is bookmarked!

It’s pretty good but not spectacular. I remember the pot stickers being a lot better a couple years ago. The sizzling garlic shrimp delight however was verrrrry tasty but way too many onions. I like how the Chinese chicken salad is not too sweet. Overall pretty solid Chinese place.

While the service is really good at this restaurant, the food itself is very hit or miss. We visited Shanghai for a friend’s birthday, and were rather disappointed with what we got. Despite the fact that we ordered a wide selection of products, only two of them were very tasty. The spicy eggplant, and the chicken salad. However, even the chicken on the salad was extremely tough and chewy(or at least that is what my meat eater friends told me) The rest of the food was… unique. The orange chicken is a dark red color, but was extremely greasy looking. My friend ordered a shrimp dish, and the shrimp came out the color of Kraft mac and cheese. It was shockingly orange. Overall this restaurant is due for an upgrade. The waiter was very nice, but that only gets you so far these days.

Takeout is consistently delicious, especially the chow mein. Of all the Americanized Chinese food in Fresno Shanghai definitely has the best. Portions are very large as well.

Love their chicken salad and their house chowmein. The orange chicken is pretty good. Their soups and rice are not good. Their mixed vegetables are meh.

They have a couple of signature dishes that carry the rest of the menu. Customer service is mediocre at best. It’s a good environment to sit and eat. Expensive!!! Hunan on cedar/Herndon is a much better choice!

Was one of my favorite chinese restaurants in Fresno and have been coming here for more years than I care to admit. I came in placed an order to go and others after and placed similar if not more items to go than I yet it took almost 40 minutes to get my order. Unacceptable and will not come here again…

It wasn’t too bad. Expensive food customer service was just okay and quality of food was okay for the area. Ordered broccoli beef, noodles, orange chicken.

The almond chicken salad is their best dish and the sweet and sour chicken was good too! Don’t get the almond chow mein though, it’s not like normal chow mein, it’s really hard and crispy. Chow mein is made with soft noodles! It basically tasted like top ramen. All in all, nice quiet experience with nice decorations. Know what to get so you don’t waist your money though!

It isn’t fair to judge a restaurant over one dish, but I must. Their tomatoe, beef, curry chow mein is off the hook. I have had the dish at many places but their’s is the best, hands down. When ever my elderly parents are in the mood for it, I know where to go. I have had a couple of their other dishes and all were good but I always was a little disappointed that I hadn’t gotten my long time favorite.

Had the dinner special– big proportions and tasted great! Had the spare ribs, chow mein, fried shrimp and the wings. No qualms and the place is warmly decorated. Our waitress was especially kind with refills and left some gifts with us after we paid. Will be coming back again for sure!

Customer Service decent. The food had areas of opportunity. The mushrooms appeared to be canned. The plate was also saturated with salt. The restaurant didn’t appear to be cleanly. One thing this place might have going for them are the huge portions.

My mom and I came here with fond memories but were disappointed. The food was really greasy. I’m vegan and knew something was wrong with my chow mein after a few bites. Turns out it was fried in pork lard. They took it off the check so that’s something. I cannot recommend to anyone. Service was great but cannot excuse what happened. I’ve had much much better Chinese food.
