Denny’s

ive never had such powerful diarrhea after eating a greasy hamburger. the service was terrible and it took an hour to get out a horrible burger and a slab of salt they tried to pass off for a chicken fried steak. this was at 11 in the evening with about 5 people there at most. the waitresd was never there and we had to beg for something simple as creamer for my boyfriends coffee, and she still forgot it.
after we paid for our expensive colon torture we went to jack in the box, where we didnt get sick immediately after consuming their food.
cheese fries were good, though.

The food wasn’t as good as other dennys and the service was slow. Eggs were runny, bagels were burnt. Took forever to get our check. Had to ask twice for a to go box, that I ended up having to get myself.
I’ll still go to dennys, though. It’s just one of those kind of places. Totally sucks one day, then is fine the next.

Food was good and all, but the music playlist sounded like it was made by a teenage girl who’s favorite color is khaki.

Only gave it 2 stars because I liked the iced cappuccino. We waited about 10 mins to even be acknowledged then an additional 5 for a waitress. She then asked to take our food order without even getting a drink order. Food came out quickly but it was a little cold. Such a waste of time.

Went in for a caramel apple crisp. Waitress looked hazed and uninterested. We ordered and she came back almost immediately, with no drinks, carrying a plate with a watery brown apple mixture topped with a blast of whipped cream. She slid it on our table in a hurry and almost managed to escape. I asked,“doesn’t this come with ice cream??” She replied «uh huh, would you like strawberry or chocolate?» «Is there no vanilla??» «No» «I don’t want this» she takes the plate and we leave. I should have taken a picture of it, it was so disgusting. And by the looks of it, it was probably cold. I’ve never had that kind of service, it was unbelievable. Their restrooms were dump, as well.

Denny’s is great. This one is not. The last 4 times I been to the S Hulen location, the service has sucked. People walking out because they’re so slow I’ve seen multiple times including me and my guests. The Food is almost always cold! Orders are always wrong.

Went here christmas night around midnight with my kids. The restraunt was not busy only 3 tables had customers. We were seated right away. Sat there for 30 minutes with employees walking by us, no one took our drink order so we get up to leave went to counter to complain and once a girl on her phone put her drink down and acknowledged we were there, I just said thank you… and walked out.

Usually the food taste moderately good at this location, last Sunday when I went the pancakes were horrible they were almost black on the bottom and hard and chewy. It wasn’t just mine my husbands were the same and tiny. Hash browns weren’t cooked all the way and eggs were cold. We will not be returning to this location eve!

Took my daughter here for breakfast and noticed something different since it has been some time since the last time I been here. they resigned the interior. Gone are the booths and carpet of the 1980s and in with new booths, chairs, tables, new bar, and hardwood flooring of today. Very nice but the exterior is the same. Staff is very nice as usual and the breakfast is good! Eggs was fresh, bacon was crisp, and my hash browns was delicious. The coffee is not Starbucks but okay. They have one TV but really need one at the bar. That is my only gripe. I will certainly be back and if you have not been in here for awhile, you will be amazed.

Waited 30 min for a cold appetizers of nachos. We decided to leave since we didn’t have another 30 min to wait for food. Bless our poor waitress, she spent the whole time asking the manager to help her with no luck. I think she was new because it took her a long time just to enter the order. We tried to make a formal complaint with management and she told us that the store is under new management. … shouldn’t that make the service better, not worse? She was full of excuses and all she offered was to not charge for the appetizer. We got charged for our drinks and tipped the waitress 10 bucks wince she seemed to be the only one trying to service us or even apologized for our wait.

Haven’t been here in a while, they’ve done some upgrades the place looks good and our waiter is awesome.

We all know no one eats here by choice really. Denny’s is like, you are out late with friends and need to soak up some of that beer with pancakes after last call, so it isn’t like the expectations are high or anything. And yet this place is still amazingly bad. I ordered 2 veggie burgers to go. They charged me for every single thing on the burger! They charged me for lettuce, they charge me for fries. It was really odd and came out to $ 30 bucks for 2 pretty gross burgers. It took them 45+ minutes to get this order out. 45 minutes for some microwaved burgers and fries, did someone take a nap back there or what? When they handed me the order in two awkward containers I asked for a bag, and they said they didn’t have any. Oookay then. And somehow, the order was still wrong.
So lesson learned, I’ll make the extra drive over to Ol’ South Pancake House and avoid this place!

I was so disgusted at the level of ineptitude. The table was dirty, the food took forever, and lastly the service was terrible.
We waited too long for the waiter to take our drink order, receive our drinks, and take our food order. We waited an hour for our food. The French toast was pitiful and the pancakes had some black substance on them. Across from us, the waiter couldn’t speak Spanish, and they had to sit. Once we were ready to pay our ticket, the person walked off to clean tables, and we stood there and waited until someone spoke and called another person over.
The food was semi-​digestible. I will never come here again. Don’t waste your time. The second star was just to be generous.

We where sat as soon as we walked in. Did you know you can order a small orange juice and it’s 26 cents cheaper? $ 1.99
They didn’t let me substitute beef for chicken (I always feel more fat and slow with beef) so opted out for just a cheese quesadilla that came with salsa and sour cream. $ 2
The hubby ordered the all you can eat pancakes. The first set was over done, but the second was buttery and way better. $ 4 Friendly staff.
We even had a woman manager come by our table to check on us.

I give up. I believe this particular location is going through some sort of changeover in staff, but the last few times I have come to this Denny’s something was always wrong with my order.
My most recent and very last visit, I tried to order the Belgian Waffle Slam and they could not get the waffle iron to work.
One time, I ordered the banana pancakes and they did not tell me that they were out of bananas until they brought out the order. What the hell?
At any given moment (read other reviews), they are out of something. I believe it was salsa at a recent visit.
They do not have a regular line cook between the interim period of 2 – 6 PM, so at one point the order was really slow to come out because an inexperienced manager was handling the grill.
Oh and last, Denny’s corporation needs to stop serving the microwave bacon! Really Denny’s?!
I will not return to the S. Hulen Denny’s location.

Place was horrible. People here obviously hate their lives/​jobs/​coworkers. Did not get asked for a refill till it was leaving.

I have always had great eggs and Hash-​browns at every Denny’s and this place is no exception and it is cheap.
They were out of Bread for Toast. Hard to believe for a breakfast place.
Their tables are cleaned with dirty wet rags and it leaves a nasty film on the tables. Also the menus are dirty and sticky. It isn’t just me, the woman that sat by us said the the tables are sticky and dirty after they had been cleaned.

This is really rare for me to give a short review but I really don’t have much to say about any Denny’s since I’m not fan of any of them.
One of the qualities that this one has is the Comedy Defensive Driving Course. It is worth the visit for this purpose only.
We took the course in order to get a reduction on our insurance.
The comedian is funny by providing answers to the test for those attention deficit students and you get free Comedy pass.“Eww”
