Went here when I saw Food & Wine magazine mentioned B Spot as one of the best burgers in the country. I like spicy food so I got the Atomic Burger medium well which was delicious but not very spicy. I got a side of Lola fries which was a big enough portion for two people and the fries were tasty even though I’m not a huge fan of thin shoestring style fries. Some people I talked to complained the prices are too high buy I disagree, they seemed reasonable to me for the quality of good. Not the best burger I’ve ever had but amongst the best in Columbus Ohio for sure. I’d go back.

I went there a few times after they opened. The food was good and had a few different cocktails that weren’t bad. I give it three stars for two reasons: everything is way over priced and there is nothing that stands out here. It’s just another gourmet burger joint. No different than flip side in Easton. Good food that’s over priced. My wife and I both got burgers and fries with a couple drinks and spent around $ 80. A good potion of that was our choice of drinks but regardless we could have had something much better for the same price.

Michael Symon’s Burger joint, I was pretty excited to try this place out. A local chef who made it big! It looks very similar to one of my favorite places, Burgatory. They even have the artisan milkshakes to go with the burgers. The entire look and feel is very very similar. But aesthetics are where the similarities end. I ended up ordering the Yo! Burger which had fried salami, capicola, hot peppers, shasha sauce & provolone cheese for $ 10.49. It sounded pretty good although I normally like to build my own burger. To do that here I was looking at a base beef burger for $ 7.99 then anywhere from .49-$ 1.99 per topping. That’s ridiculous but I digress, the Yo! Burger sounded good. I also got an order of Lola Fries which cost me an additional $ 3.99. I’d be alright with this if they weren’t basically frozen shoestring fries with a sprinkling of rosemary. Something like that should come with the burger. There was nothing great about these fries imo. The burger was smaller than I expected and the bun made it look bigger than what it really was. I thought it might come with lettuce, tomato and onion on the side to add but this wasn’t the case. No problem, I can ask. When I did I was told that isn’t how the burger is intended to be made as if I just besmirched the chef. Well sorry, I’d like my burger with lettuce, tomato and onion please. That is how I intend to eat it. My request was granted but I was charged extra. Now, the burger did taste alright but it was nothing special. I’ve had just as good for half the price and it does not hold a candle to Burgatory. For the same price there I can get a Wagyu Burger on any of 5 different breads, with a choice of 10 different cheeses and 30+ toppings… and the burger comes with homemade chips which are far more unique than $ 3.99 Lola fries. The Shasha sauce(mustard), Lola Ketchup and BBQ sauce on the tables are all pretty good stuff. They had a pretty decent craft beer selection but by my count I was already in for $ 15 or more and didn’t feel like another $ 6 for a drink. There is also a complimentary pickle bar which is an interesting touch. You can get kimchi, pickled onions, green tomatoes and a few types of pickles including my favorite, Tony Packo pickles! That was a welcome surprise but not enough to make up for what I didn’t like. Speaking of, my main complaint is the price you are paying for what you get. My burger, fries, and a can of PBR cost almost $ 18 before tax. If I wanted a shake, you are talking another $ 6-$ 7 and $ 3 more if you want to add alcohol. For what I got, I’m sorry, it is just overpriced. You are paying for the Michael Symon name and that is all. If he was there making the food, sure I’ll pay up to say I had has food but it’s not him, it’s some college age dude getting paid minimum wage in the back just following orders. Hence my waitress telling me my request for lettuce, tomato and onion was not the«intended» way. The burger wasn’t bad but smaller than most gourmet burger restaurants. The fries were nothing special and came at an additional cost. Staff wasn’t happy when I made a reasonable request for common toppings and charged me for them. Pickle bar was a plus along with the sauces to bolster the tasteless fries. But ultimately everything was far overpriced. There are better options at half the price. But hey, I ate a Michael Symon burger!

Been here twice, came back for the Dougie since it was so good the first time. Really one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The wait staff both times were extremely friendly and efficient. The only reason for 4 not 5 stars is because I ordered the same burger both times medium temp. the first go around it was pretty damn pink inside which is how I wanted it, the second time hardly pink at all. Still tasty though. I’m not a huge carnivore but every once in awhile I crave a burger… this will be the go to place.

My girlfriend and I have been to b spot twice with both experiences being phenomenal the waiters we’ve had both times have been well knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive to our needs. They were eager to toss out recommendations on beer ‘s and cocktails making our experience nothing shy of accommodating! We love this place and will continue to come here to try everything on the menu! Our waiters name was Ethan he was awesome not sure of the guy the first time but they both were awesome! If your wondering if this place is good, we’ll it’s amazing and you should go for sure there pulled pork is to die for!

My husband and I had lunch here today and I’m having a bit of sticker shock. We each got a bacon cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese, we shared an order of onion rings, and we both got fountain drinks. With tax and tip it was a $ 40 lunch! Crazy! As far as the food goes, we ordered our burgers medium well and they were done perfectly and were very juicy. The bacon was good — thick, but still fairly crispy. Although the onion rings were very crispy(which I love) they were pretty greasy, as beer battered onion rings tend to be. It’s $ 7.99 for an order, which I think is pretty steep, but you do get enough that they could probably be shared by three or four people. Our waitress did a good job. She asked if we had been there before, and when I told her we hadn’t, she gave a quick explanation of the menu and told us about the specials. She was pleasant and friendly and provided good service. Overall, the food and service were both good, but unless I win tonight’s $billion+ powerball, it’s probably not a place I will frequent simply because of the cost.

This really is a hidden gem, when it comes to burgers. I’ve been here several times since they opened and their food quality has stayed consistent. The only knock is, the service has really gone down hill. My wife and I stopped in a few weeks ago on a Saturday and were seated at a table by the bar. We waited for nearly 10 minutes before our waiter showed up. I felt bad for him because he had tables all over the floor and there were several waitresses who seemed to be doing nothing. In fact, when we stopped and asked one if we could order, she said she would go find our waiter. She then walked over to the soda station and leaned on it until our eventual waiter approached her and she casually pointed towards us and said, «that’s yours.» Thankfully, our waiter was as attentive as he could be(the poor guy really did seem like the only one waiting tables) and he made up for some of the nonchalant attitude of some of the other workers. Overall, the food is fantastic. Hopefully they get their service under control and this place sticks around.

I had heard about this place a few weeks ago and after much trepidation I figured I would give it a shot. I’m usually not that impressed by restaurants with«big-name chefs» that are the heads of them because I think a lot of times the food ends up failing expectations that have been set forth by that chef. This place unfortunately was no different. For all intents and purposes, it’s a burger and fries joint. Much ballyhooed but, a burger and fries joint just the same. All of the burgers and salmon just started an average between $ 10 and $ 13 which isn’t so bad but nothing include sides so, coleslaw, french fries or onion rings are all sold separately. I went with a friend of mine and the server that we had told us that our order of onion rings would be large enough to feed two people. That was a lie, it wasn’t. Now I’m well aware of Symon’s reputation, especially as far as meat is concerned. The man is a true carnivore. With that being said, I have to say I was greatly disappointed with the flavor of the burger and the size. And the final nail in the coffin for me was… Refills aren’t free. If I knew then what I know now, I would’ve just gone to Red Robin.

I’m torn about giving a 2 or 4 star review so I’ll split the difference. I’ve visited this place twice and I will go over the experiences. First visit sat at the bar. Place was almost empty. Nice atmosphere. Bartender lady was sweet and very knowledgable about the entire place. Now if you’ve never been here this is a Celebrity Chef Michael Symon joint. Next to Bobby Flay and Alton Brown, one of my favorite chefs. So naturally I was pumped to be here. It’s a burger and brat place. I ordered the Thin Lizzy even though I knew the Fat Doug had beat out Flays burger like 4 years in a row. I wanted to get a classic burger without all the eggs and bacon and pastrami and what not to see how the basic burger was. It was good. Not great by any means but good. Service was awesome but I assumed because no one was there at 2pm on a Tuesday. Next visit was yesterday. Much more people on a beautiful Sunday evening. Sat at the bar again and a different fella helped me out. Wasn’t as knowledgable about the menu and made a mediocre drink. This time I ordered the Fat Doug. Burger, Cole slaw, pastrami, Swiss cheese, mustard. Again good burger but not great. The bun is pretty big but it’s airy so you can smash it down. The toppings on these burgers are great. I think the fault lies within the burger itself. When you see the burger it looks like it was frozen as a patty and grilled. They only way to make a good burger is to use fresh ground beef. Preferable a 75⁄25 but no leaner than 80⁄20. And barely work that meat into a patty. It should come out shaped like an amoeba because you loosely hand patted it. This one looked like a perfect circle and the meat looked compressed. I feel like when you do that you lose the whole integrity of it being a burger. Sure it’s great for cookouts when there’s 200 at work but not on an $ 11 burger that doesn’t come with a side. I’ve been to Bobbys Burger Palace and it’s the same thing. I know these guys are amazing chefs but guess what. They aren’t making the burger. A 19 year old pot head with long hippie hair is back there doing it. How do I know. They don’t partition off the back of house there so you can see them back there. On to the fries. If you’re gonna charge $ 4 extra dollars to add fries onto an $ 11 burger, for the love of God, hand cut potatoes and fry them. Don’t serve me frozen shoe string fries with rosemary. Those aren’t even fries. They remind me of those potato sticks you can get in a can at a convenience store. I wish there were an In-and-Out next door to this place so that they could see that making a simple burger with good beef for $ 3 is better than a gourmet burger with bad beef for $ 11. It’s a better burger than going to a fast food place but this is a burger joint. I expect more from the actual burger.

My mother and I are fried bologna fans. You could even say we’re officianados. We’ve been all over Ohio eating fried bologna. I worked close to B Spot for nearly a year without realising they had friend bologna, so today, we remedied that situation. At the table, they had us set up with a selection of fancy, delicious sauces, including Shasha sauce(a spicy, flavourful mustard) and Coffee BBQ(so good, the waitress snuck us two little plastic containers to go home with us, as they sadly do not sell the sauces in-store. Mr. Symon, if you’re reading… .) The waitress took us on a flying tour through the menu, and answered our questions about the bologna. Like I said, we’re kind of experts. Ladies and gentlemen, you can even BUILDYOUROWN bologna at this establishment. However, we decided to stay with the menu selections. My mother had the Old School– mustard, pickles, and subbed American for Pepper Jack cheese. Whoever said you can’t do substitutions? Apparently that policy has changed. I did the New School, which included pickled onions with mayo, a fried egg, and pickles. Our waitress recommended we split a side, if we chose one, so we went with the rosemary fries. After a short wait, our bologna arrived. We’re talking a good inch of fried, then lightly grilled bologna. It was lovely. I took mine over to the free pickle bar to munch on a variety of pickled green tomatoes, hot and sweet pickles, and garlic pickles with my burger. The bologna was scored so the juices were perfect. The bun was crispy in the right spots, and sopped up the egg yolk in the right spots. My mother’s only complaint was that her sandwich was a bit heavy on the yellow mustard, but that she felt that would be easily remedied. Honestly, I cannot complain. Service was spot on, food was terrific. I went in with zero expectations, and I came out fully satisfied and excited about next time!

I’ve driven by this place a few times and never really knew what it was until I looked it up. It’s a burger place! I came here with a good buddy for dinner and a few drinks. Our server was great, very friendly and attentive to us. They have a lot of burgers here, and I’ve always been a fan of Red Robin, and this kind of reminds me of what they offer. Lots of different types of burgers, maybe not as many as Robin has, but the ones they do have, all sound very good. I got whatever came with the Bacon and fried egg, as that’s how I’ve been enjoying my burgers for the past 25 years, and I think it’s catching on! I see it on more and more burger menu’s nowadays. The burger was good, great mixture of meat and the texture was good, great bun, however; I ordered mine medium and it came out a little over, it was hot(temp) in the center. But it was still a good burger. I also got the fried cracklins. I’ve had better, these were just basically fried pork skins. At other places I’ve had them, it’s always been very different on how they’re made, prepared and served. These seemed to be just the skin with little seasoning if any. The better versions I’ve had, had some meaty bits, some fatty friedness and some good olé southern seasoning, like a fatty bacon nugget. I’ll def be back, they daily special was fried pickle with ranch dressing on a burger. That just kind of hit the spot for something different but sounds really good.

Omg I had the most ridiculous time here today. I happened to be in the area and I’ve been wanting to try this place, but I left without ordering. The menu is perfectly straightforward and easy to understand, but our server really labored over explaining it to us, including physically touching the menu to point out the parts he was taking about. Are customers that stupid? They don’t allow for substitutions on their signature burgers, but you can build your own burger that’s exactly like one of the signature burgers plus whatever ingredients you want to add or take off. So, they do allow for substitutions, but first they make you listen to them say they don’t. The super awesome kicker was after explaining the menu like we were children our top-knotted, surfer bro server informs us that if we need anything to «come grab him.» What? That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works. He was serious. He wandered off and did everything possible not to come back to our table. It’s a small place. I could see him the whole time, not taking my order. So I left, went to another premium burger place 0.6 miles away, and had lunch. One star wouldn’t be fair because I didnt get to order anything. The story had to be told. Sorry B Spot. You blew it. Two stars.

Finally made a lunchtime trip with my Brother to this place sitting off of the busy two lane part of Hamilton Road north of Morse. Owned by chef, TV personality and author, Michael Symon and his foray into the Cbus food scene. Arriving just after opening on a Friday we had no wait and got a literally rocking table(the waiter quickly remedied that) inside by one of the open garage doors by the patio. It was dining with the luxury of air conditioning but with the feel of being outdoors, so very Sinful. Our server filled us in on the some of the changing specials of the day and answered any questions before quickly getting our drinks. Placed our orders and didn’t have to wait very long before the burgers hit the table. I went with the«Fun Guy» with griddled onions, shrooms and blue cheese on a perfectly cooked to order burger. This sammich was as beautiful to see as it was to eat. The toppings a wonderful marriage of flavours that didn’t overpower the taste of the meat. Paired with an order of the Lola Fries, while not my favourite style of French fry cut these were exceptionally excellent being cooked in duck fat and seasoned with rosemary. So good in fact we skipped going for a Shake for dessert and opted to split a second order of those wonderful fries. While the prices here won’t make this a daily destination for me, it will be at the top of my list for a high quality damn good burger close to my home and of course those truly tasty fries…

I enjoyed my burger, shared some Lola Pork fries, had a couple of Dortmunder Golds, tried all the sauces, all of the pickle variety at the bar. Everything was wonderful, the service was great. Id like to thank Alexis for her working here and being on top of everything. Joe said his favorite part was the pickle bar, and made multiple trips. Tina said she likes the beer wall, and the black ceiling goes hard. Jackie paid for my meal, because I covered the tip. And Im Cam, your local columbus-ite, who wrote this review.

B spot is a burger restaurant owned by chef Michael Symon. He was born and raised in Cleveland. He is an iron chef and a host on the show the Chew. Words cannot describe how amazing these burgers are. First off you walk in and there is a cool display of beer taps and in the middle is a letter B that hangs over the bar. Close to the entrance is a pickle bar. They have a lot of pickled options; onions, jalapeños, etc. The waitress was very friendly and sweet. I ordered the Lola burger. The Lola burger is a delicious, juicy, flavorful burger with cheese, pickled onion, bacon and a sunny side egg served with a buttery toasted bun. What can I say besides its heaven in your mouth. The other burger I have had from there is the porky and this is probably the most scrumptious burger ever created. It starts with the buttery toasted bun, a juicy hamburger patty, pulled pork, onion infused cole slaw. All the components of this burger work together to make this thing like nothing you have ever had before. It’s no wonder this burger won an award! Now. The fries,. OMG! The fries are skinny fries deep fried in duck fat and tossed with sea salt and Rosemary. Not being a Rosemary girl I was unsure about them but they are simply divine. They are are crispy and yummy. The last part. The shakes. The first shake I had from there was there seasonal shake and it was like crack in a cup. It was a chocolate peanut butter brownie shake. Sooo delicious. Today I ordered the chocolate and it has not let me down:-). Even though I no longer live in ohio this is quickly becoming my go to spot when i come home. There is not a burger that compares. A must try!

Long wait, about an hour long on a Saturday night. It was to be expected, but it turned out not to be worth it. Positives include the extensive beer menu and friendly service. My absolute favorite part of the visit was the pickle bar. I tried them all and some of them were truly delicious. Then again, I am a big time pickle lover so YMMV. Negatives were, well, my burger. I opted for the turkey burger because the toppings seemed interesting. It was dry and not at all flavorful and the toppings were skimpy. I suppose I should have gone with the traditional beef burger, but I expected the turkey burger to be done right if is on the menu. Lesson learned. Also the place was jam packed and there really isn’t anywhere to sit and wait.

I’ve always been a fan of B Spot at Crocker Park, and I’d manage to stop in for lunch almost every time I was in Cleveland, so I was pretty excited to hear it was coming to Columbus. I was also a bit worried as well because of how overhyped Melt had been prior to moving. I finally made it over there yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. My buddy and I were seated quickly, and our server was very nice and funny when helping us decide what we wanted. Being the fat asses that we are, we went with one of their big burgers as well as a stadium brat(for research purposes). I had the American BBQ Burger, which was a special, and he went with the Lola. We were worried that it’d take awhile for lunch, but the food was out in 10 minutes max. Everything was very quick. Wow. It’s been about a year since I’d had B Spot, and that burger was delicious. Topped with brisket, cheddar cheese, and pork cracklins, it was one of the tastier burgers I’ve had in the past year. My friend thought his Lola burger was awesome as well. The only reason I’m deducting a star is because the brats were just okay. The brats themselves were delicious, but I wasn’t a fan of bun it came on, and the griddled onions were a little too sweet and had a flavor I wasn’t a fan of. My friend agreed as well and thought there was also too much bun. It’s very messy as well, so beware, the stadium mustard is applied generously to say the least. I’m still a fan of B Spot’s burgers and hope anyone that hasn’t been out here gives the place a chance. If you’re into some tasty burger creations, it’s the place to go. Plus, Flip Side gets too damn busy, and B Spot’s just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Easton.
