I eat at this location quite frequently during my lunch breaks from work. The exterior of the restaurant is first rate and unique compared to other exteriors of more familar eateries, which are also in this area on Hamilton Rd. The atmosphere inside provides an uplifting mood to the patrons with classic pop music played at vociferous levels. Making the atmosphere more enchanting are Motown tunes in the rotation by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles and Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5. The manager and employees who greet you, handle your transactions, and bring your order out are affable and professional. They make a valiant effort in treating the customers well and making them feel at home. During a couple of my visits, the manager asked me and the other patrons how they’re doing, which was thoughtful of him to do and makes anybody want to come back again. In my early visits, I used to order Uncle Ken’s Burger. I found it to be delicious. But for the majority of my visits, I’ve eaten the Spaghetti & Meatballs and the Chicken Parmesan dishes. I’ve eaten both the lunch and dinner portions. The lunch size does fill you up. However, I prefer the dinner size of the Spaghetti & Meatballs more because it has more of the meatballs. The small garlic breads make the dishes enjoyable. The dish, Johnny Marzetti, is very unique because it consists of macaroni noodles mixed with tomato sauce. One drawback is that it sometimes takes a while for your order to be brought to you. This is caused by the place having a lot of customers during the lunch hour or a shortage of employees or a combination of both. At times, I’ve waited for my food to come for a long time whenever there were several people that ordered before me. Other times, the long wait is due to one worker available who greets, takes, and brings out the orders. Having another employee who brings out the food is always beneficial in terms of curtailing the customer wait. Overall, this eatery is a very good place to visit given the uplifting atmosphere and the variety of salads, burgers, and pastas to choose from. It’s also a fine restaurant for family and friends to spend time in and for workers looking to relax and enjoy a meal during their lunch break from the rigors of their jobs.

Finally gave this place another try after several years and forgetting y I didn’t like the place the first go around. Well, I think I figured it out… SLOWSERVICE with so-so food. Dinner on a Thursday night with my mom and we walked right in and was greeted quickly. After scoping out the menu we ordered with both my mother and I asking for items to be left off our sandwiches. A couple of people walked in after us and there weren’t too many people who were sitting down without food. So we thought it wouldn’t be a bad wait… WRONG! The girl who ordered right in front of us had her food a good ten minutes before we got our food, which was ready 20MINUTES after we placed our order. It did appear there were several phone in orders but still 20 for a sandwich. And for the price it wasn’t that great. AND on top of that they didn’t make either my others or my sandwich correctly. But since we waited so long we decided to suck it up. The loaded fries were the best part, but other than that we will not be going back. Because people who came in after us didn’t wait 20 minutes for their food, so I have no explanation on that one! I guess it will be another 9 years before I eat here again!

Johnny B’s(as I like to call it) is a fun, casual place for dine-in or take-out. The décor has a 50’s vibe, down to the crooner-style microphone they use to call out your name when your order is ready. The staff members are very friendly and attentive to your needs. There is no table service. You order at the register and take a seat until they call your name. Sodas are self-serve. They have excellent paninis and subs. My favorite is Vito’s Steakhouse Cheesesteak. My boyfriend likes the Italian panini. It’s too greasy, in my opinion though. Since there is very little separation between the grill and the dining area, I always find that my hair and clothes smell like the place when I leave. Maybe I just have an extra-powerful sniffer. I used to live right down the street, so we ordered take-out from her quite often. They have a patio for nice days and frozen custard too! I highly recommend this place!

I had a cheesesteak and fries. Fries were good, cheesesteak was OK at best. One plus was the red cream soda(delicious!!)

WHATNOCHIPS! $ 8.50++ for a sub and NOCHIPS. Seems STEEP to me. PLUS Much less meat than in the past. Going skimpy now. Too may other good sub places on the same street to elimate the one thing they had different.

I went there for the first time with my spouse on a Friday night. Johnny B’s was a casual restaurant with slow service and surprisingly few patrons for a Friday at that time. Now I know why. I ordered a tomato, mozzarella and basil Panini and a side salad. The Panini was a pitiful excuse for a sandwich. It was more akin to something I could have reheated from the frozen section of a grocery. The tomato was three small Roma tomato slices about the size of a half dollar coin that were white to yellowish center with light pink edge; not ripe at all and completely undersized for the bread. I found a couple of specks of Basil the size of red pepper seeds. The bread was greasy but crisp. It was a poorly done grilled cheese sandwich. I guess my expectation was too high but for $ 8 I expected ripe juicy tomato atop fresh mozzarella and whole basil leaves. Had I paid less or bought it at a drive thru, I would have thought«well, you get what you pay for». At the register I was told that sides were $ 1 but the order taker neglected to mention that it was not the price of the side salads. The small side salad was $ 4.25 and of the size an quality of Wendy’s side salads but priced more in line with what the sandwich should have been. Service, what service? You pay at the register and they call when your order’s ready some 20 minutes later. I don’t see how this restaurant has made it. I would choose Panera or Cosi or even Starbucks new Panini sandwiches over JB any day. It’s higher priced, slow«fast food» with no style. The upside: I saw a sign that advertised kids eat for free on Mon — Thurs. Maybe that ‘s when they draw a crowd. Perhaps parents don’t mind paying $ 12 each if kids eat gratis.

I had never been to a Johnny Buccelli’s before, so this was my introduction to the chain. The deli-style ordering system was easy enough, just like ordering at any fast food joint, like a Subway. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak, and it was delicious. The steak was tender and the marinade was juicy. The provolone cheese was fantastically melty and the peppers and onions, crisp and full of taste. We sat down next to a mom and her boy, who seemed upset, slapping himself across the face while screaming. Mom tried to get him to stop but he wouldn’t, so she packed it up and they headed off. I think she was able to get only a few bites in. The place seemed relatively clean, but as we were one of only three tables I think the staff could have done a better job of wiping the tables down and putting dishes and trash away. They were friendly enough. The music was mainstream pop. Not too loud. Men’s room was relatively clean. I liked the windows in the place. Lots of light.

They got my order wrong 3 times so it took an hour to get my food and by then my son and husband were done eating since I didn’t want theirs to get cold. Pretty simple I just wanted a different dressing on my salad. and bacon cheddar fries NO ranch. Yes they brought the salad with the wrong dressing twice and then the fries with ranch… aahhh bad start. My husband had the Buccelli burger and Vitos steakhouse burger and even though he wasn’t blown away by them, I thought they were pretty good, the fries and mac n cheese was also good, not great. I got a scoop of custard since I’m a sucker for desserts but that was also nowhere close to as good as Culvers or the many other custard options in Columbus. In all it is fine, I have had WAY worse but I don’t think its worth coming back to, there are just so many other burger options in Columbus that are better.

This is such a disappointment! I used to love Johnny Buccelli’s, particularly this location, but it’s just not good anymore. I had hoped it would improve, but that seems unlikely now, since I don’t intend to try it again. We went last Sunday, late afternoon, and every table was sticky and dirty, even though they weren’t so busy that someone couldn’t have cleaned. Our food took 20 minutes to come out, and when it did, my Philly Cheesesteak was cold. Not just lukewarm, but cold to the touch. It was disgusting. I’d have taken it back, but we had an angry toddler at the table so I didn’t want to wait 20 minutes for another one. I don’t know if they changed owners, or if the management has just gotten lazy, but this place is officially off my rotation. You could experience better almost anywhere else on Hamilton road.

Johnny B’s has good grub. I’ve tried their burgers(large and tasty) and a couple of different subs. Today I had the cuban. The pork was delish. But the kicker to the sammich is their relish. It’s not hot, but has a great vinegar flavor with a hint of pepper. Pleasant service, quick kitchen, tasty sammich.

I’ve been here several times. Every time my step-mom comes to this side of town, she begs me to go to this place. She likes the Mediterranean sub, which happens to be vegetarian. She also adores the potato chips and dip(and I agree!). The chips are freshly made, and are coated in a seasoning mix of pepper, salt, and some herbs that I’m unable to define. The dipping sauce is a nice flavorful dip, reddish in color. The chips are honestly the best thing in the restaurant. Their burgers are great, but HUGE. I’ve gotten the subs, which are good, and the grilled cheese is excellent, on an artisan bread, and about the size of two regular sandwiches. I’ve also gotten the Turkey Panini. Everything is tasty and plentiful. There are a lot of tables, and even an outdoor seating area. Their gelato/ice cream/sorbet is good, nothing special. Seems to be pretty expensive.

I went here with a friend before a concert one night. I got a BBQ burger on a pretzel bread bun(which was a nice, unusual change). The burger was pretty big with a side of fries for around $ 9. Kind’ve pricey for the type of restaraunt… but was still good. Since I’d never been there, the guy at the counter was polite and gave me his recommendations. Buccelli’s has a selection of subs, burgers, and a variation of other sandwiches. I can’t remember if they had pizza or pasta on the menu… probably so, but I was just eyeing the burgers. I would probably go back if I’m in the mood… but I’d try some other places first.

Wholly acceptable. This location is fairly small, they do have an outdoor seating space and a counter to eat at if either of those are your thing. The menu seems to be gargantuan, and the sandwiches on it seem to match. One could seriously hurt oneself if trying to consume a whole of their largest sub. The staff has always been very friendly and it’s definitely a bonus to visiting the place. I’ve had several of their sandwiches(no complaints), and a couple of their pasta dishes(no complaints either). They have lemon heads and red hots as their after dinner… er…mints? That’s kinda fun since it’s a change of pace. In short, there’s nothing seriously«woah» about it, but it’s certainly not bad, sister. If you’re a dude and I called you sister, sorry about that… but it flowed better, you see?

SOOO done with this place. They used to be good when they opened and for about 1 – 2 years following but then they started getting sloppy. They’ll keep you on hold forever if you’re calling in an order and if you’re lucky they’ll actually answer the phone after 5 – 10 minutes but if you’re not, they’ll just plain hang up on you and not even apologize when you call back. Then good luck getting your order right. I haven’t had them get a call in order right the past 4x I went there and that includes tonight and it’s been a year since I’ve been there. Even with what they did get right, it was REALLY skimpy on the meat and their sandwiches aren’t cheap. If I’m going to pay $ 8 for a sandwich, throw me more than $ 2 worth of meat because I KNOW the bread doesn’t cost $ 6! So…sorry Johnny B, you’re crossed off the list for good.

This is a place I’ve seen several times around Columbus, but not once have I thought«yeah, let’s try that.» A couple guys from work chose it for lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised — I’ve gotten the ½ sub ½ salad each time, and the salads are *huge* for being a ½, and the subs are delicious. One problem that happens at this location — if you’re with a large party, and you think you’ve been skipped — don’t wait, ask to be sure, or else you may be eating by yourself after your party has finished.

Johnny Buccelli’s is a place I never get cravings for, and I never would think to come here when I’m trying to decide where to go, but every time I end up here, I really like it. The menu is surprisingly large for this type of restaurant, and it always takes me quite a while to choose from among what’s offered. My most recent visit was yesterday, when I ordered the turkey sub with peppered ham and bacon, with a side of homemade chips. I almost never get turkey sandwiches, because it’s typically dry and flavorless, but the pepered ham and bacon convinced me to try it, and it was pretty much amazing. The turkey was extremely moist, and the rich chipotle mayo brought everything together with the perfect amount of background heat. The chips were warm and nicely seasoned, though I didn’t like the chunky dip that came with them(that’s OK, they didn’t need it). A few of the chips tasted fishy, but hey, I can’t expect a restaurant to fry everything in different deep fryers. The sweet tea had a strong chemical taste that I hope was a mistake. I dumped it out and got Coke instead, which was fine. Overall, this is a good alternative to your typical sub chain, especially if you’re tired of bagged chips as your only side-dish alternative.

This was the first place I ate at after moving here. I wanted to try a place close to where I live, but something we didn’t have back in Eastern PA. I was with my folks and we all agreed that it was way better than we expected. I thought it’d just be a deli/casual sandwich place, and it IS casual and DOES have sandwiches but it has a lot of other stuff too. The menu surprised me. It’s always nice to go to a place and you can’t decide what to get because so much sounds good. The atmosphere was a nice change of pace too. Definitely would like to go again!

I stopped here Tuesday night for some dinner. EVERY table on the patio was DIRTY. When I pointed this out to the manager(Amber) she gave me a lame excuse that they were busy. Weill, when i was there there was absolutely NO traffic and yet no one was bussing tables. The food was just so-so. My recommendation is to stay away.

Good, quick food. Better then fast food. Quaint little place, great location for other shopping stuff(meijer, home depot, movie theatre, etc…) Only been to the Other one on Bethel Rd and I think this one is nicer and cleaner, but overall a good experience.
