A&W Restaurant

I honestly thought I had looked to see if there were reviews for this place a few weeks ago and found none. I didn’t even see the reviews until I sat down with my buddy after we had ordered. One star. Oh well, it was only two reviews. I can’t say that my experience here was that great, but I don’t think the place warrants a one star.
Like the two below me said, the service is pretty slow for fast food, and there really is only three people working here at lunch time. Either they extremely understaffed, or the place hardly gets any business. The guy that took our order was pretty new and it took him forever to get everything straight, but he was super nice, so I felt kind of bad for him.
We both had the double bacon cheeseburger with fries, and I also ordered a coney dog to try it out, because odds are, I wasn’t coming back.
The burger itself wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t anything special. Besides a cold unripe tomato slice, it was far from the worst burger I’d ever had. The fries were pretty average, probably below average. The coney dog, which had chili, cheese, onions, and mustard on it was pretty similar, if not exactly the same as one you’d get from Dairy Queen.
I really just went to A&W because I’d never tried it before, and until a month ago, I didn’t even know there were any in Columbus. I don’t think I’ll be heading back here, but I don’t think this location represents the entirety of the A&W chain.

I find it pretty hard to give most restaurants a 1 star review. This restaurant was pretty clean and had friendly staff. The root beer tasted awesome as expected.
Unfortunately this is where the positives end. The food was ok but nothing comparable to other A&Ws I have been to. The service was exceedingly slow. My wife and I ordered a burger, fries, cheese curds and chicken fingers. Nothing too complex and it took over 10 minutes for them to fill the order. It looked like they had enough staff and there was only one other couple there when we arrived, but they already had their food.
I would not recommend this place.

How on Earth is this location still open?!
I succumbed to advertising and craved a coney. Because I don’t like a certain coney specific place nearby this was all I could think of. The hubby said he’d get one place and get me this. He made the mistake of going to his place first so he said when he got here and placed the order, he knew he was in trouble when the car in front of and behind him both turned off their cars. He then remembered why we haven’t been there in over 4 years… they are SEVERELY understaffed (we’re talking 3 people running 2 restaurants in there) and the service is painfully, rage inducing slow.
After 15 minutes trapped between two cars, he approached the window and the guy was like «soooo, what did you order again?» He said «are you serious!?»
«Yeah sorry, we lost track of your order. We got the curd but what else was it?» 2 hot dogs. One coney and one with mustard and onions. He yelled it back wrong, had to be corrected and then when we got the food, the curds were the only things that were hot and the hot dogs were lukewarm at best. To top it off, they made me sick for the rest of the night.
It also reminded us of the time about a year ago, that I made homemade Long John Silvers (the other restaurant attached) for some friends we had over and we said the only thing missing was hush puppies. The hubby ran inside to grab an order of hush puppies and it was 25 minutes. I literally called to make sure he wasn’t in an accident, he was furious by the time he got home and our food at home was cold in addition to the «fresh» hush puppies. They were cold and stale.
This is NOT fast food. You might as well go to a sit down place because drive in or going in, you’re going to wait for your food and it’s NOT going to be fresh or hot. I don’t know what they’re doing back there or why people keep coming back enough that they know to turn off their cars in the drive thru line but it’s firmly crossed this place off our list. I can’t speak for other locations but this one is the worst.
