Coming here about 4 times so far, I’ve come to the conclusion that this place is more of a show than a relaxing restaurant. The last time I came here, it was a cold winter day. All I wanted to do was get a warm entrée and have some peace and quiet. But it seems there are only two areas to sit. The bar or the hibachi grills. The food is delicious. My family ordered both the hibachi dinner combination: New York steak and shrimp & New York steak and scallops. The scallops were well prepared. Not too dry on the inside and not burnt on the outside. Just a heads up but getting fried rice is an extra $ 1. I also got some a side spicy tuna roll. They have average sushi and yet the quality isn’t worth the price you would pay. My advice is to spend your money on the hibachi. Overall, this place is a place for an event or birthday dinner. It has a great environment and has good happy hour deals.

We come here several times a year. Always enjoy the show and the steaks are good quality. They give you noodles as well as rice unlike some other hibachi places.

I’m giving this place two stars not because of the service, but because while we were at lunch waiting for the Hibachi Chef my friends who were both Asian overheard a conversation among the servers. They were able to translate was being said and apparently one woman asked the other server why she doesn’t wash the tomatoes. The other server said she never washes them because they go bad if you do. We all lost our appetite for the salads and didn’t eat them. Instead we stuck to the Hibachi grill. Our chef was the best, and my steak was great but I couldn’t get the thought of dirty tomatoes out of my head. In made me worry about what other vegetables weren’t being washed. That’s a health code issue if I am not mistaken, if not it’s just gross!

I expected more but was a bit disappointed. The sushi was average, atmosphere was ok, service poor.

Best sushi lunch special EVER! They have a 2 roll, soup and salad lunch special for less than $ 10. The Harris Teeter across the street would sell you half of that in some stale rice without a soup or salad for the same price. I love the hibachi as well, but I am more of a sushi lover. They use the freshest ingredients and the perfect amount of rice. I can’t stand sushi rolls made of 30% fish and 70% rice. Here they use mostly fish and just the right amount of rice. It’s fresh, quick and filling and needless to say it’s less than what a fast food place would charge you nowadays for lunch.

This was a fun restaurant. My friends and I went to celebrate a couple of our birthdays and we had a blast. They were able to accommodate the 10 of us as a walk-in an hour before they closed on Halloween night. The food was monotone but the atmosphere and drinks were great. I had the hibachi chicken and shrimp which was okay and I had a couple Silky Smooth cocktails, those were nice and crisp. Service was pretty fast and the staff was funny. They were however very serious about IDs which as a server I understand very much. My 22 and 27 years old friends had sodas and juice for their drinks as a result to their strick ID rules. I’m happy I brought mine or else my birthday dinner would not have been as fun. :P

I’ve been to Ziki at least 10 times now, but over time I have become disenchanted by the food, the smell, and the policies. Ziki is almost always empty at lunch time which has always been a little curious to me. Perhaps other people have picked up on the same issues I have noticed. Food: I have never participated in the Hibachi experience. I normally just order the standard lunch fare. Ziki has an extensive menu and offers lunch specials etc. I typically order a simple sushi roll and a salad. The sushi just tastes off. It might be that the seaweed is a little fishier than usual. The rice also seems a little under cooked. The sushi in general just tastes a little«off» and not as fresh as other sushi restaurants. I often get to the point where I can’t take another bite. Smell: Ziki smells of disinfectant and mop water. I don’t always notice it immediately but about half way through the meal I feel a bit nauseated and notice the dank smell. Policies: Ziki is entirely too strict with substitutions. I understand they cannot substitute a more expensive item in lieu of a less expensive item, but they are not willing to substitute comparably priced items. They also up-charge for everything. A vegetarian meal can become pricier than a non-vegetarian meals simply because of additional charges. The staff barely speaks English so it’s difficult to ask questions related to food allergies or dietary restrictions. They also do not have gluten free soy sauce available which is now standard in many sushi restaurants. When my co-workers and I eat here, there is an odd silence at the table similar to when a group is eating bad cafeteria food. Maybe that;s the sound of disappointment.

The food was okay and I have been spoiled with amazing hibachi places. The cook was amazing and was super attentive and I love the fact that they have lo mein noodles along with the rice. The sushi was okay that I ordered but nothing to write home about. The food was super salty.

After my friend drove me to mva and waited with me for a good 4 hours, I decided to treat him to something yummy. Ziki was not the right choice. Food: SALTY.COM holy crap. Everything was drenched in soy sauce and salt. my goodness I felt like I was in the ocean with my mouth open. Service: not good. didn’t speak English, seemed rude, wouldn’t listen to anything I was saying, didn’t answer any questions… Just a few tips for the owner or managers or This restaurant, 1) how about we train our employees to SPEAKUP, couldn’t hear a damn thing she was saying 2) why don’t we get some servers who can speak English… 3) when you do something wrong, APOLOGIZE The poor guy next to me asked for onions only, apparently I overheard he had an allergy to everything else. They gave him veggies, he said no and again asked for onion only, 15 minutes later another plate of veggies were brought to him and he said no, only onions. The third time’s a charm I guess, because they brought him just onions! I feel like if the server had at least said she was sorry, he wouldn’t have been so upset. I’m not sure if it was my servers first day, or if she just has no knowledge of the products they carry, but when I asked what kind of beers they had she said its in the menu. Then I asked her for an asahi and she asked me what kind of sake. I just overall had a really bad experience with this serving staff and I don’t think I care to return. I also feel like I need to drink 3 gallons of water now because my food was so salty.

I have been here a few times a years ago. I remember my experience being okay so I recently went there for lunch a few days ago. I was not impressed. The service was fine but the food was not that good. We ordered the FBI roll and I got the Unagi Bento Box. The fish on the FBI roll was fresh. However, they did not use sushi rice for the sushi and the rice was also under cooked. Also, this place is a bit overpriced. So, overall, the food is overpriced and it’s not even that good – which is unfortunate because this restaurant is in a really good location.

We always go to ZIKI Japanese steak house for hibachi. This is a good place for birthday or party. Some chef is more entertaining than others to make it more fun. My favorite hibachi is shrimp. The steak hibachi is too dry. Avoid ordering it. The downside is that it is always crowded especially on weekends. Making reservation ahead of time will shorten the waiting time a bit. The room temperature is not quite right though. It is too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer… I assume it is the default for any hibachi place???

Don’t mind if I Jew! I came here with a hot personal trainer twice my age. We were both looking GOOD. I’ve been meaning to set her up with one of my twenty-something friends so long as he doesn’t act like a SUSS boy. I stroll in looking so Ja Cool. I peruse the restaurant, and I think«Yo this place is live!» They’ve got fiery grills, beautiful waitresses and fresh sushi artists. My date recommended I get the $ 9 sushi lunch special, which includes miso soup, salad, and two rolls. I got the avocado rolls. Avocados from Mexico! That jaunt was good! Everything was great. I love taking a big scoop of wasabi and smearing it on top of my sushi. It’s spicy, but I love clearing out my nostrils and ears. Man that joint made me sweat! Our conversation was great. I was blown that we had to leave and get back to work. She generously paid for my meal. What the Sugar Mama. I was still kind of hungry so I walked over to Taco Bar, but the line was as long as a BBC. I needed something«Fresh to Go,» «On the Go,» «Grab N Go.» Damn I can’t stand millennials who are always on the go, but the line at Taco Bar was actually so dead. I was already away on my lunch break for like 2 hours. I went over to Chop’t because their line was shorter. The salad sucked. Ziki’s salad was way better.

When I’m in the mood for a decent steak, this is one of my options. It’s a good place to take a group because of the hibachi entertainment. The soup and salad entrée are fresh and we always joke that one mushroom must be able to garnish 50 bowls of soup. I usually order steak or filet mignon rare and it comes out what I really like, medium rare. My daughter genuinely loves rare beef but rarely does it arrive her shade of red. The vegetables and the meat are my primary reason for eating it. The show is excellent and for a group of folks out to have a convivial evening, this is it.

I’ve actually never done the popular Hibachi here but have come here for their standard dinner menu. My favorite dish here is the Nebayaki Udon. A large soup of savory broth with seafood, beef, blanched veggies, and udon noodles. Stir in the soft eggs on top and allow that yolk to perfect the broth’s complex flavors. Mouth watering. You can get the tempura shrimp on the side to preserve the crisp coating. The sushi is great and thoughtfully made. This place is very loud at dinner time, making intimate conversation somewhat difficult. But I enjoy watching the hibachi diners get squirted in their mouths with saki shots by the Hibachi Chefs; some of the diners attempt some type of desperate sign language to get the Chefs to stop the Saki deluge without success. Sadistic. The beer selection is surprisingly good and their happy hour is surprisingly hoppin’ for a Japanese restaurant. I rarely order wine at a Japanese place but the party atmosphere of the hibachi seems to equate to a proper wine bottle turnover rate. The wine here is not bad! Good, efficient service. The prices are a bit steep — the Nebayaki Udon Soup is $ 15.50.

I’ve been here a ba-zillion times, but never written a review! I will keep it short, because there is soooo much to say! I LOVE Ziki! It’s absolutely my favorite go-to sushi place… ever! Every time I have sushi somewhere else, I compare it to Ziki’s. I have yet to have to find a place that compares at all. Their sushi is always fresh and they make the rolls fast! I also can’t complain about the hibachi! My go to is always the Alaska Roll or the Philadelphia Roll. I recommend the Volcano Roll or anything with salmon! I recommend that you go here! If you don’t… you’re missing out.

Unique presentation of a 15-piece sashimi($ 21.25). I’m used to sashimi being served on a small wooden plank. Ziki had everything(fish, vegetables, and fruit) on a giant bed of crushed, illuminated ice. I typically don’t care about presentation since I’m pretty utility-focused(health first, taste next, presentation/appearance last), but I was definitely impressed by it. And so was everyone else at my table since they all ordered hibachi. Our server was fun and lively, but a little imperceptive. I get that hibachi restaurants are a little lively and loud, but each server can feel out each table and adjust their style a bit. If a table doesn’t appear to be loving all the click-clack noise or squirting-of-sake-into-mouths, ease off. Even better, the server should size up the audience(a bit more of an art than a science) and avoid/pursue certain acts.
