It’s a small aquarium but for our toddler he loved it. They have no touch pools for kids but they have a small tunnel that allows you to look at the sharks and fish swimming overhead. Kids under 3 were free and adults were around $ 21 pp. If you are going without kids you can do the entire aquarium in under 15 minutes. A lot of the area was under construction. They have a cute display of penguins and one sea lion that is in murky water.

I’ve been in Houston for about 4 yrs and finally made my way to galveston. The aquarium wasn’t bad but wasnt amazing either. I am happy I went and it was worth the money spent but thats about it. The penguins and sea lions were pretty cool and they gave underwater viewings also which I enjoyed. If you have not had a lot of experience with aquariums then it would be a great experience. Unfortunitily, I grew up near a couple great aquariums in California so my expectations may be a little high. Overall if you are in the area and like sea creatures it is worth the time to check it out.

This is a nice aquarium. I’m a little spoiled by the aquarium in Monterey, CA so this wasn’t quite up to my high standards. It was a typical aquarium. I had fun! Nothing that just wowed me. I was a little upset actually at one of the tanks a sea turtle was in. It was way too small for the size of the turtle. All he could do was swim in a circle and hit his fins on the glass or side. It was a little discouraging. These are such beautiful creatures! Please put it in a big tank!!!

I’ve lived in the South Houston area for years and years and never went to the pyramids. Finally went for Easter. It wasn’t crowded. I enjoyed exploring the section and different cries of the larger tanks. They have a seal attraction that you can view from the too, and 3 other sides from under the water. The penguins were the same they offered different views of Their habitats. The smaller aquariums were labeled well and educational. I would recommend looking at groupon or other discount ticket apps. 39.95 per person is a little high in my opinion.(Maybe I’m cheap) it’s not huge, but they do have a nice variety of fish/animals.

It’s easy to get down on this aquarium for looking a little dated, and they had 4 empty exhibits but then you would miss it’s strengths of light crowds, and a few unique attractions. The Moody Aquarium is trip out of the way and so it wasn’t crowded inside and you can just stay in front of your favorite attraction without feeling like a hog. It’s not the biggest aquarium but it did have it’s key features a Seal tank with 5 different species, and a Penguin attraction also with a bunch of different species. I liked that you could view both from multiple angles above and below the water. The tanks were accurately labeled if a little light on information about the species but one of the delights were the smallest attraction. Over Christmas on of their Seahorses had given birth and now you could see tiny baby seahorses. That’s new for me and I love to go to every aquarium I can. I didn’t think it was too expensive especially after the overpriced Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtley Beach, SC and the sales saved us a few with the discounted package even though we were just going to the aquarium.

The main attraction here is the penguins and the seals. There’s also a nice shark/fish tunnel and some educational trails. Overall, the place is rather small. The seal exhibit looks far too small a habitat for those large seals. I don’t imagine they are very happy. It’s a nice place to visit, but I probably wouldn’t go often. For the price you pay, there isn’t much substance. Palm Beach will get you more bang for your buck. With exception of the penguins and the larger sharks, you can see these animals at the Houston Zoo and much more. So, if you are already at Palm Beach or Schlitterbahn and want to pay $ 22 a head to beat the heat for an hour, it serves a purpose.
