Came here on a VERY packed Saturday night for dinner with my SO. Wait was 2 hours so we tried getting seats by the bar which was also packed! We waiting about 15 min before getting seats by the bar. We ordered ribs with fries and the French dip with a loaded baked potato. Everything was finger lickin good!

I guess since they are closing soon they just have given up. The spin dip was ok but the burger and ff were awful. Like couldn’t eat it that bad. Oh well. Peace out motherfuckers you were good while you lasted. Hope i don’t get E coli from some shitty old beef. Everyone there was extremely tight lipped and seemed nervous when talking about why they were closing too. Guess its some top secret shady business going on there. Everyone looked MISERABLE. It was fun while it lasted, DEUCESBYEFELICIA

Dining here for the last time since Houstons is closing on the 30th. I’m super sad. This is one of my favorite places. In all the years I am coming here I have never had a bad meal. The have the best veggie burgers, tuna salad, cole slaw, ice cream sundaes and much more. The service is great and Michelle at the bar is one of my favorites. I truly love this restaurant and although many more places have been added to the mall none compare.

I really enjoy myself every time I visit this restaurant. The food is always well prepared and excellent tasting. The Hawaiian Ribeye is my favorite! Whether I want to sit by the bar and enjoy the game or sit in the dining room for quiet and ambience… Houston’s never disappoints!

If I am looking for QUALITY food and QUALITY service this place never lets me down. The service here is top notch, very friendly, very attentive and are happy to provide any extras to help enjoy your dining experience. For the food I really enjoy the burger they serve here. Now this is not your typical burger you get a diner, this one is a couple of notches stepped up. You can taste the freshness and care that is made with each order. As for the appetizer I really recommend the spinach and artichoke dip, the staff was really nice enough to refill our chips multiple times. This place is great for taking out on a date, it is quite on the upscale side, so price is a little more than average but you do get what you pay for. Now I heard this place is closing down soon and it’s best to at least try this amazing place before it does! This place definitely deserves it’s 5 stars!

Outstanding service and delicious, high quality food. The spinach and artichoke deep is a must try starter. Their fish of the season selection is great. The ambience as a touch of fancy but definitely an enjoyable to be at.

DATHAWAIIANRIBEYE. I rarely eat steak, and when I do, I never get anything besides a filet. Ribeye is way down my list of preferential cuts since I avoid fatty meats like the plague. But that ribeye. I could see why it’s one of the restaurant’s signature dishes. I was afraid the pineapple ginger glaze would make it sickeningly sweet, but it wasn’t at all. It was perfect. As for the fatty parts, I just simply cut away those parts and pushed them to the side. My bf ordered something else because he didn’t want to get the same thing like I advised him to and then he ended up having massive food envy –______– Our waitress, Lauren was a doll. The four of us split a spinach dip which she comped because they brought it out too close to our entrees. We didn’t even notice, but hey we’re not complaining! One of the best parts? They had Stag’s Leap cabernet available. My absolute fave wineries. Totally killed that bottle.

I can not help but review one of my favorite restaurants, considering I have found out that come December 30th, 2015 is closing the doors of their only long island location. Granted I can still frequent their restaurants in the city, this was the location close to home! Considering the closing they are running a smaller menu, but loaded with their top sellers. Of course the ribs are still on there! I decide to go for that and get the spinach dip as my side. How can you go wrong with that combo! OMG delicious as usual! Also not to mention the friendly staff as well! I really hope the group does reconsider opening another location on the island. I know there will be a following! I mean I feel like I am writing a fare well letter! Cheers Houstons, it has been a great 20 years!

Came here for a family dinner. Ordered the spinach dip and hawaiian rib eye. Both dishes were the best I have had in the area. If you come here, definitely order the same thing. You will not regret it.

Exceptional service and food. Came here for dinner a couple of nights ago, and was amazed by the quality of service and food. Our sever was extremely helpful and friendly. For appetizer, we ordered the spinach and salsa dips with chips, and that was AMAZING. Simply the best of the best in which I order you all to try! Our waiter even offered us more chips because we literally could not keep our hands off them. For the entrée, I ordered the fish sandwich which was by far the best fish sandwich ever! Perfectly fried and flavor. I would definitely recommend you to try this place out! You will not be disappointed! Also, one thing to keep in mind is that most of the dishes on the menu are seasonal so something you see on Unilocal, may not exactly be on the menu!

After a long day at Jones Beach, my parents and I decided to grab my birthday lunch at Houston’s. I asked the hostess if we can be seated at a booth since it was my birthday. Woooo hooo it was a big booth meant for at least 4 – 5 people lol I looked over the cocktails section of the menu but no pretty drinks so our server Kerry or Carrie suggested a Pomegranate Martini so I got that and it was mad strong as I am such a lightweight =) Food: Flying Chicken Platter with coleslaw and shoestring fries and Barbecue Pork Ribs with coleslaw and shoestring fries… exactly how we ordered the first time we dined here a year ago but my dad was still hungry for something else so we got the Rotisserie Chicken… omg that sauce was superbly delicious… the chicken mmmmmmm Dessert: I didn’t get any because they contain nuts and I definitely don’t want to break out in hives on my birthday. I love this spot and the Roosevelt Field Mall is like literally a 2 mins walk lol

Oh my God Houston’s is Flippin amazing. A great dining experience on long island located next to Roosevelt field mall Houston’s has been on my bookmark list for a while now. Finally made it here after a little post birthday shopping at Roosevelt field mall Houston’s was on the menu for a birthday lunch. And it was a great choice indeed. Absolutely love the décor of the dark wood and booths. I’m a huge fan of booths if a place has a booth I always want to sit in one I’ll always wait for one to become available if it wasn’t available. There booths are large and spacious which is a plus. There was a few things on the menu that I wanted to try and debated on what to get. Being a steakhouse and all I should’ve went with the steak but their chicken sandwich sounded so irresistible I had to try it and oh my OMG was I glad that I did it was packed with flavor in every bite it was like being in chicken flavor heaven. Every single part of the sandwich from the bun to the chicken was amazing. It came in three parts, like club sandwiches a huge portion that I was completely unable to finish doggy bag for me to go. Alongside it came with shoestring fries which were extremely thin and different but I couldn’t stop eating them because they were so flavorful. Damn they were out of this world amazing I’m drooling right now just thinking of them. The customer service was great and on point the beer selection was minimum I did order one beer that I thought I would like but didn’t go down with me so I asked for something else more of my liking and our waiter happily brought me another one. Houston’s has me sold and I definitely will be a repeat customer so if you’re in the area and hungry for some real good food this is a place to stop in.

Houston was AWESOME! Me and mY girlfriend had dinner at Houston last weekend to catch up and have drinks — For my first time I had a wonderful experience. Dimmed lighting and very intimate setting — not over powering — but posh place to have dinner with a friend, family or loved ones. The staff was very nice and smiled all the time… The food was delicious — I had the roasted prime rib steak — it was juicy and delicious. The kale salad is a must try — it was so delicious… I ended my meal with the walnut Brownie and Ice Cream… Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas I ate every bite of it — yes I did… I will definitely be back…

I still find it hard to believe that Houston’s is a chain restaurant… and it really wasn’t until recent(after a friend did some research) that we realize they were! it was a mind blown moment… Houston is a traditional American restaurant that pride themselves on serving good simple food in the freshest quality possible– and they demonstrated that very well. Location/parking: Houston’s is located right by Roosevelt mall, it’s also right next to Capital Grill so it’s not hard to find. Parking is easy since there’s the mall parking lot! Décor and Ambiance: This is why I find it so hard to believe this is a chain restaurant– the building itself resemble a fancy Manhattan restaurant. Everything here spells UPSCALE– The place is clean, dimly lit, filled with high cushion classic booths and a fancy bar and all these gave the place a very classy, romantic vibe. Dress code– norm here is smart casual, NOT a t-shirt/flip flop kind of place. The place is huge and can definitely accommodated more than 100 people. We made a reservation for 5 and got there around 6:00pm on a Tuesday night. The place was pretty full when we got there, luck for the reservation and we were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly, gave us a lot of good recommendations on the food and had some good small talks with us here and there. The menu is not very big but don’t let that fool you because I haven’t had anything on the menu so far that I didn’t like.(I can proudly say I tried about 80% of the menu) My recommendations: Starter: Chicago Style Spinach Dip– This is your safest bet and it has never fail us. Hot creamy Spinach Dip with the perfect amount of spinach and cream ratio. The cheese is so well melted(no chucks). TIP: Save your dip and ask for a second serving of chips for free! Salad: Sashimi Tuna Salad– Our go-to salad, fresh pan seared tuna with mango, avocado, mix greens served with cilantro ginger vinaigrette. Perfect for the summer, the mango and avocado are super refreshing, pair that with the lightly seared tuna and mildly sweet ginger vianaigrette, what a deadly combination. The portion is decent so get this as a starter for everyone to share! Sandwiches: French Dip au Jus– Really anything that involves dunking food into beef juice is a win in my book. but this really is one of the better ones that I had. The prime rib is well marinated, cooked perfectly– pink is what I like to see! House-made toasted French roll that’s soft and chewy, the au Jus is so flavorful! it’s not overly salty, they even give you a large bowl of it so you can dip it and not spill it! If you like prime rib, this is a win! Entrée: They are all very solid in Houston’s, everything tasted delicious and everyone always rave about the Hawaiian Ribeye and ribs but if you may, let me introduce you to my personal favorite, one thing that I come back and get over and over again: Flying Chicken Platter aka chicken fingers– you must be thinking is this guy smoking up or something? paying $ 18 for chicken fingers??? Yea you read it right it’s $ 18. That’s what I thought at first too until I was introduced to this legit winner. Questions you will be asking should you choose to get this legit dish are: How do they make the batter so light and crispy? How is it so light and crispy that it basically dissolves in my mouth? How is it they all disappeared from my plate? How come I suddenly have the urge to get another one? I know this is tough decision to make especially there are so many excellent choices out there but I strongly encourage you to give this a shot. I promise you won’t be disappointed!!! MUSTTRY!!! Service: Great service– our waitress came by multiple times to make sure we are having a good time and refilling out water. I like how she make small talks with us like asking where we from and sharing some of her personal favorite food on the menu with us! Price: Above average: this place is a high-end chain restaurant so expect to pay at least around $ 40– $ 60 per person. it’s a tad expensive but you do get great tasting food with excellent service! Overall: I like Houston’s Restaurant, I still find it hard to believe that they are a chain restaurant but with the quality of food and services this restaurant has presented, I wish there were more of these kind of restaurant in NYC. Sure the price is on the expensive side but you get what you pay for– quality and service. This is the perfect place to take your date to, any kind of celebration or just whenever you feel like having some chicken fingers!

I am normally one to hate on chain restaurants but there are a few exceptions and Houston’s is one of them. The restaurant itself looks very sophisticated and is definitely suited for a older clientele but has a great modern steakhouse feel. The attire is casual but a tad more upscale so don’t go thinking it is OK to swear sweats, if you know what I mean. The prices are a tad high but the portions and flavors are very generous. The restaurant is located on the grounds of the Roosevelt Field Mall and is a great option for an after shopping meal. I have been a few times over the years and it is definitely a solid choice. The food: Club Salad– Crispy chicken, mixed greens, tomato, avocado, chopped egg, smokehouse bacon. I thought the salad was great, it was a huge salad and should be shared. I enjoyed the chicken, there were huge pieces of chicken that had nice flavor and was really tender but I do wish there was more of a crunch. Also, the chicken was fried but wasn’t oily at all, which was great. We chose the garlic blue cheese dressing which was very good and the honey mustard which was just OK. The greens had a hint of bitterness which was a welcome addition to cut some of the sweetness of the dressing. Hawaiian Ribeye– Pineapple sesame ginger marinade, loaded Idaho potato. I thought the steak was good, the flavor of the marinade was nice and the steak was nice and tender, but the marinade does run on the sweet side. The potato was a nice side dish, it had good flavor and the cheese is always a welcome addition. Barbecue Pork Ribs– Slow cooked and fall-off-the-bone tender with fries and coleslaw. The ribs are one of the hot ticket items here. The ribs are no teeth required tender and the sauce has a nice smoky, tang that goes well with the ribs. The ribs should be tried. French Dip au Jus– Thinly sliced roasted prime rib, house-made toasted French roll. I thought their French dip was great. The prime rib was nice and tender and the au Jus packed so much flavor all with on a nice crusty French roll. Warm Five-Nut Bronie– served a la mode. The brownie was good but a tad dry and cakey but the amazing vanilla ice cream more than more up for it. And it is almost shocking how much nuts they put on the brownie but I like texture so it was a welcome addition for me,

Out of all the Hillstone/Houstons I’ve been to this one, by far, was the best. From the hostess– to the bartender– to the servers. Not snotty and fake but down right friendly and happy to be working there. We sat at the bar– bartender was great. We ordered a couple beers on tap, very fresh. Fresh fish sandwich was good with handcut fries very yummy. French dip sandwich was the best, though. So good and juicy and yummy and on point. WIsh this one was closer to us… Damn

Service here was so friendly. I was not hungry, but my mom was craving their Thai steak and noodle salad. I was originally skeptical because why would you go to Houston’s for a Thai salad, but I was wrong. It was really good, the steak was cooked to perfection, the dressing was flavorful and a bit tangy, the cilantro and mint was great to mix. I did end up ordering the soup of the day, which was the creamy tomato soup. I’m usually not a fan, but it was good too! I had to order the warm five-nut brownie, they actually gave a big enough scoop of ice cream for the whole brownie and the brownie was full of nuts, just how I like it.

My wife and I have been coming here for years and are always happy. Awesome food and an excellent bar along with great service and décor makes this a place we always come back to. We always start off with the Chicago Style Spinach Dip, I think Houston’s is famous for is and there is a reason why. It’s freaking delicious. From there it’s on to one of their scrumptious entrees. The Hickory Burger(while it has changed a bit since last time we went) is awesome and you can never go wrong with the ribs there. My personal favorite is the Hawaiian Rib Eye. Anytime I order something else, I wonder why I didn’t get it instead. Not that the other food is bad, it’s just that the Hawaiian Rib Eye is so damn good. The drinks are phenomenal. Does your drink call for OJ? Well if it does you are in luck, they always use fresh squeezed OJ. My wife almost always gets a Screwdriver for this reason. I can’t comment on desserts as I have never had them, but I can’t imagine them being bad. Do yourself a favor and check them out.
