My mom loves their cream puffs I personally like the caramel filling inside. However I just couldn’t finish the second one, too sweet for me

Came here Monday at 1:30 pm and this place is closed. Sign says open M-F at 11 am. Not sure how this place does business by randomly closing.

No one was there when the store was supposed to be open, no note or anything… This place sucks.

WORSTBEARDPAPASLOCATIONEVER… the lil chick working the counter that you see in the pictures others posted is a rude nasty b1tch. Was telling a group of customers that walked in and sat down 1st to see what they wanted to order as she was waiting on me «the sitting is for paying customers». BUTTHESTOREISCOMPLETELYEMPTY… WTF! They walked off… hope this place gets shut down.

Let me share my experience. I came to this location on Saturday, 9⁄5 at 11:04am. Right after they opened the store. First, their light inside the store was not turned on. I wasn’t sure they were opened or closed. But the door was open so I walked in to the dark spooky store. The lady appeared from the back and greeted. I asked her for 1 dosen of Cream Puffs. Surprisingly she said, «We only have small cream puffs right now». According to her, it takes 20 – 25 minutes to make regular cream puffs, and extra 10 minutes to make éclair shells. Waiting for 10 – 15 minutes is okay. I prefer to have fresh cream puffs. BUT40MINTUESWAIT??? WHENNOONEISINSIDETHESTORE??? THEYNEEDTOATLEASTPREPAREWHATTHEYAREMAINLYSELLINGFORDURINGSTOREHOURS!!! That is the common sense. If the store is open at 11am, then prepare foods BEFORE that! On the menu, it has a picture of «Cookie shell». It is my most favorite one. It WASAVAILABLE when they just opend this location few years back. However for the past 1 year or so, EVERYTIME I come in, morning, day or night, ITISALWAYSUNAVAILABLE!!! Now one of the good thing about Beard Papa’s is weekly/monthly flavors. On other locations, they always have what’s on the menu or otherwise it is stated. This location is the only place DOESN’T SERVE whats on the menu. Anyways, so I paid, came back to pick up my cream puffs 35minuts later. The cream puffs are so flat. It looked like smashed or just sandwitched cream with 2 separate shells instead of injecting inside the puffs. Cream is dripping from the sides. UGLY!!! I’ve been to Beard Papa’s all over Japan, all over O.C. and some locations in San Francisco. I go this paticular location just because it is closest from where I live. Thus so far the WORST franchise location EVER. To summarize, these are the points I noticed: –Inside the store is very dark –They don’t make what’s on the menu –On top of they do not make what’s on the menu, they are out of MAINITEMS(regular cream puffs) at 11am! –The quality of cream puffs(shapes, flavor) got worse over the years. –The quality of service got worse over the years. Perhaps dimming the light to save electricity and hiring only 1 person on Saturdays(busiest day I assume?) shows their current situation. I don’t know. I hate to see their ends but they need to improve their services or at lease make it same level as other locations. If you are craving for yummy cream puffs, try other Beard Papa’s locations instead.

Atmosphere: Casual. Donut shop type place, handful of tables and chairs. Ordered Items: Mango mochi, original cream puff, milk tea boba, cheese cake, and chocolate cake. Proceed with caution. They have rock hard mochi and cheese cake. The chocolate cake that I ordered that is advertised as a warm cake with fudge center was bland and dry. The milk tea boba was pretty much watered milk with boba(GROOSSSSSS). The cream puff was ok, if you willingly choose to go here stick with those. I definitely wont be back.

Cream puff was okay. Nothing spectacular. The macaron was not good at all. Soggy. Mushy.

I love Beard Papas, and I’m always at the Palms location. This store is a lot closer to my family’s house, though, so I was super excited to treat them with my favorite cream puffs. Suffice it to say that the puffs were underwhelming. It was obvious that the pastry is not made fresh; it was dry and stale. The cream puff as a whole was deflated. Barely any cream to fill the sad excuse of a pastry. As a Beard Papas franchise, this place does not deliver. They try to sell too many things! There’s macarons, cheese rolls, boba, and other random pastries that look just as stale as the cream puffs. Please stick to what Beard Papas is about. People don’t come in to your store expecting to get macarons! Work on the cream puffs for crying out loud. I’m definitely not going back. I would recommend the Palms location if you would really like to have a good cream puff.

FLUFFYMEMORIES So the cream puff is a bit overpriced but sometimes a girl just needs this creamy goodness once in a while I ordered a couple dulche DE Leche filled which is with caramel and cream but there was wayyy too much caramel and it was too much to handle. When you order a half dozen or a dozen they give you a little discount. It seemed really quiet for a saturday afternoon especially when the parking lot was packed!

Finally able to get some of the famous beard papa cream puffs! These cream puffs always tend to get an extraordinary amount of attention to them so I decided to check it out. Despite previous reviews, I truly feel like this Beard Papa’s is extremely generous with their custard. I took a bite into one and it was oozing out. extremely Delicious. However, I did find the puffs to be a bit cold. I’ve never had beard papa’s before, but a lot of reviews say that a cream puff is most delicious when it’s freshly baked and warm, so I was a bit disappointed. :/ Of course, they sell more than cream puffs here. Macroons, cheesecake, and drinks. My dad bought himself a very thin cheesecake for 3 bucks. Not really worth the two bites he took, but he ate it none the less. Overall, I give this place a 4⁄5 star review. It is a bit pricey, but if you’re really craving cream puffs then this is the place to be. Hopefully you come by when the cream puffs are nice and warm though.

Is this Beard Papa half Vietnamese because of the area? All the ones ive seen have been minimalist and this one seems to have boba drinks and what not. That’s not bad however as we were looking for beverages and decided to see what they offered. Matcha green tea was a big hit and the peach black was ok too. Who knew that the cream puff place was going to have decent refreshments of this form?

Thanks to Groupon and my extreme Groupon-ing(okay, no such thing, but still), I was able to try a ton of Beard Papa’s cream puffs. They sell other items like macarons, mochi and even drinks, but why bother? I’m all about their cream puffs which they’re known for. Actually…I did try the Mango Ice Shower, and at the very least I’ll just say it’s not worth $ 5, and I wouldn’t get it even if it was $ 1, but maybe that’s just me. It melted quickly and the mango was a bit sour like it was over ripe and drowning in overly sweet syrup. Back to the cream puffs. Different flavors are available daily or weekly and so far I’ve tried the green tea, chocolate, strawberry, and original vanilla custard. Hands down the vanilla custard is my favorite. Various shell types are available and priced differently($ 2 original, $ 2.25 Éclair, $ 2.60 Cookie Puff, $ 2.75 Paris Brest — Churro-like donut). I’ve tried all. The Paris Brest costs the most and yet is the smallest; it also gets soggy the quickest. The Cookie Puff had a slightly crispy-not-quite-crunchy texture but the flavor was mild and therefore doesn’t make it overwhelmingly better than the original. I’d definitely stick with the original and Éclair shells. The white chocolate Éclair is very sugary sweet which makes the dark chocolate Éclair the winner for me. All in all, the cream puffs were delicious mainly due to the filling being so light and the texture so smooth. They’re best eaten fresh. However, you can refrigerator them but keep in mind that they get softer, if not quite soggy, particularly the Paris Brest. This particular location is well lit and very clean. While I wouldn’t go out of my way for this again, I’d probably return if there’s another Groupon deal and I’m in the area.

Nothing spectacular about here. The puff pastries were sitting in the bread basket. There seems to be a lighter and a darker version of the pastries. Not sure what the difference. There are 2 types of fillings you can choose… green tea and original besides the dulce. I ordered one of each for the 3 various types — original and with chocolate glaze. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell the puff pastries apart. The gal couldn’t tell me which was which once they were put in the box. Failed.

Sad to report that my mini cream puffs were stale. You could tell that the bread basket was laying out all day. I went in around 7pm, after getting some bahn mi a few stores down. It was a disappointing experience nonetheless… for myself and a friend. We LOVE Beard Papa’s, but this location needs to be revamped. The service was okay, but the quality is definitely not there… I would not recommend.

I’ve been a huge fan of Beard Papa for years! Had them for the first time in Vancouver in 2008& have been hooked ever since. The filling isn’t too sweet & the puffs have a light, crispness that I enjoy. I found this particular location to be clean & the staff is friendly. I love getting the gal who usually works in the mornings(ack! can’t remember her name — old age brain gets wonky at times :/sorry). She always fills the puffs to the absolute max. Thumbs up! Being located next to Boiling Crab is another plus. A bag of shebang seafood + cream puffs = great meal! The parking situation though… Oh man! Dangerous parking lot, y’all! People, carts, & cars… coming at ya from every direction… typical Little Saigon craziness. Be extra vigilant.

I’ve always been a fan of Beard Papa’s cream puffs and have been to several different locations which are all franchised owned expect for a corporate store in Westwood. I was lured inside after seeing they have green tea as one of their flavors for the day. I ordered two just to enjoy by myself, an original and a green tea. It’s $ 2.5 per cream puff. The girl that filled my puffs was definitely generous in the injection of the cream. The cream puffs were oozing with filling that I even licked the paper clean of the cream. No shame. The girl working there was so friendly and nice. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in the area again. It’s located right next to the Hoa Binh Supermarket next to Boiling Crab TOGO.

Located at a huge strip mall off Brookhurst and Westminster, a few doors down from Boiling Crab is this Beard Papa. I came to pick up some pastries on a Friday afternoon at 4:30, and it was empty. I had a groupon and ordered 3, 8-pack of the mini cream puffs: — 12 green tea(the flavor of the day) and — 12 original vanilla. The total came to $ 19.50, so I added a cookie to make it $ 20 even. There wasn’t much interaction. They fulfilled my order and processed my groupon. After I left, I felt bad that I forgot to leave a tip. The staff wasn’t overly helpful, but they were polite. I’d come back to buy more items.

Last month, I came here with my husband and grandma to pick up some delicious edibles! :) We had a groupon voucher, so that’s what compelled us to come check this place out. We ordered: 5 cream puffs — yum! doesn’t fail to delight the taste buds Strawberry & coconut smoothie — it was ok; couldn’t finish Peach ginger green tea drink — if you like tea and peach, then this is it! Thanks Beard Papa’s, your cream puffs are still yummy!

I LOVE Beard Papa’s, but holy crap bro! It shouldn’t take 10 minutes to make ONE cream puff! One… Just one… One little cream puff… Why?!? I have no clue, but they were really slow… On the positive side, they have other items like chocolate fondant cake, macarons, smoothies among other things. It’s close to Boiling Crab so I might be back…

There was only one person working, but she seemed to handle herself pretty well. It’s right next to the Boiling Crab to go and this place use to be Chubbi Cakes. They have macaroons and drinks too. What I got: Dulce de Leche Cream Puff($ 2.40): it has cream and dulce de leche inside of it. It is super sticky and too sweet in my opinion. Bite into it and the dulce de leche will squeeze all out. My friend really enjoyed it though, but he has a super sweet tooth. Service: Even though she was the only one working, she did it pretty efficiently. You could see her piping in the cream and the dulce de leche so everything is piped to order. I was hoping they had the green tea cream puff, but she said those come every once in awhile so you just have to wait!
