KFC

I was craving chicken for lunch and they weren’t even open when I arrived even though the sign on the door says they should have been open. I ended up getting chicken at a different restaurant.

On the way home from b-​ball and my son wanted some KFC. He loves eating hot wings and so do I. The box of 20 is no longer on the menu, but it is still sold for about $ 14 for 20. Here’s the thing about KFC… The chicken is really tasty, however the food is the MOST inconsistent quality of any fast food restaurant! We take it for granted that fast food is cookie-​cutter. Food at one restaurant is almost expected to taste the same as food at another location. I’ve found this expectation to be inconsistent with the actual outcomes at KFC’s. The food was great this time at this location. I’ll have to come back to test them out again the next time I’m in the area :-)
What did I like…
* The food, especially the hot wings, were delicious! It was moist on the inside with a crunchy skin on the outside.
* Easy access to the restaurant right off of Valley View.
* Easy parking.
* The table service provided is an extra plus. Having family members who are handicap I certainly appreciate restaurants that help people with disabilities.
What I didn’t like…
* Nothing comes to mind.
Food = Prepared well at this location.
Seating area = Clean and organized.
Service = Friendly
Restroom = Unknown

Terrible service. All the workers are high, and they screw up on your order. If you want shitty service, come here.

It’s KFC. How do your rate or review KFC?
I can only compare this KFC to the nearest KFC which is on Chapman and Beach.
The one down the road is a newer and larger franchise but they are always out of product. Hot WIngs? «Please give us 10 minutes.»
And their doors howl from the wind.

You know what to expect.

Ordered a breast dinner, got a thigh and a wing. not a happy camper. Plus they had no CRISPY chicken ready at 6:15 come on wanted me to wait 12 min.

I purchased the Unilocal deal, $ 25 voucher for $ 20. When I showed the manager, she first denied it and just told me it was the wrong location. When I insisted that this was the location, showing clearly on Unilocal with their address on the voucher, she then told me she doesn’t know how to run the transaction. The manager finally called the owner to ask how to run the transaction. From listening to the conversation, the owner knew about it. Good thing I wasn’t running late because it took too long. I don’t blame the manager. I blame the owner who didn’t properly notify their employees.

Standard KFC quality food. Restaurant cleanliness: well below average. Take your food to go.

The double down sandwich and 10 piece bites with a side of gravy. Sounds like an easy order right? Well it is, and most of the time they get it right, but when I get a dark meat, cold piece of chicken for the DD, then forget it, it tastes pretty bad. The bites are my favorite, once again when they are fresh and aren’t dry. Good enough food, but only sometimes.
I recommend coming in either mid lunch rush, or a bit late at night before they close.

drive-​thru experience. They got my order correct by the drive thru placement is a bit awkward — otherwise standard KFC offerings.

I was the only customer so the drive through service was fast. Original chicken was ok however the grilled chicken leg pieces were a little dry. Biscuits were a little hard. Must have left the food under heat lamps a little too long. Will go back if along the way home to try again but otherwise i would go elsewhere next time.

Even had the bathroom outside (and not too nice).
But the food was as with any other.

First time I went there was because of the $ 10-​dollar deal on Sunday, I think I got all original recipe, it was good, the chicken was cooked perfectly as is usually the case with fried (or should be).
Next time, about 3 weeks later, not so hot, only the extra crispy was cooked OK, the rest (original and grilled) was undercooked for the most part, I first noticed a very chewy chicken thigh which should always be tender, not chewy.
I drove all the way back there (6 mi. one way) to return the undercooked pieces and this dude said they’ll make new chicken pieces (which they did), but it would be a wait. Ordered all extra crispy since that was the only kind sufficiently cooked the first time around and after a long wait I got it and brought it home. It was hot and fresh and extra crispy and also extra greasy (not in a good way) and I tried a wing which was cooked fine. Afterwards, the next day, just ate it cold and in sandwiches, but noted two more pieces still undercooked which I threw away.
The staff I dealt with, although not very accommodating, was courteous and seemed competent. Given, however, the inconvenience caused by something that should have never happened I think two stars is appropriate if not a bit generous.
I won’t be back, there are a couple of other KFCs closer to me, anyway.
