Mom and pop Korean food…
I stuck with the seafood pancake– this had more of a soggy texture to it rather than crispy. There were loads of chives in it. I think there were adequate pieces of squid in here. The other dish ordered was a stir fried kim chi and pork. Again, plenty pieces of pork and the kim chi was a bit more fermented than I am used to– even so, make sure you have plenty of rice and this will definitely help. Side dishes were standard, nothing great, nothing horrible.
Pretty status quo here, it didn’t blow me out of the water.

Love this place. Their must have dish is their signature kalgooksoo. They have plain, chicken, or some other choices. The portions are hugeeee and super cheap/​affordable. Always my go-​to korean restaurant

It is a nice little mom and pop Korean restaurant. Ask for the spicy beef bulgogi. It is not on the menu but they will make it, and it is so good. The side dishes are good. I really like the potato side dish.

I came here with my girlfriend, and I know what to usually order at a small korean place like this. I usually get kimchi dol sot bi bim bap, but since it is not on their menu, you have to ask them kindly.
The past few times I came here the lady took my order, and she was happy because a white guy could speak some korean. That usually gets you all the perks. =D anyways the first few times I came it was excellent.
My last experience here was not so great. Our order was taken by a man who worked there. Never seen him before in my 4 times coming here, but to the point. We asked for some kimchi dol sot bi bim bap, and he said they don’t make it here. I kindly told him that I order it here all the time and he said ok. He took our order, and what do you know. He brought out some Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap. It’s just not the same without the kimchi already cooking in there.
The taste was completely different!
Now as for the side dishes. I know they have a bunch which I don’t know the name of, but I do know that they have them. When my girlfriend and I came in, they brought out the basics. (Kimchi, Bean Sprouts, and the Sweet Potatoes.) You’re telling me that you only have three side dishes I asked the man. He told me yes thats all.
As we were eating what we didn’t order because we dont like to waste food, a Korean couple came in and they got about triple the side dishes that we got. Triple as in 9 different side dishes. I asked the guy how come we didnt get this this and that. His response was oh you’re not korean… «What a freakin Pyungshin!!“I have taught taekwondo for 8 years. I have had my share of korean food, and I have never been to a place which was as rude as this.
Time to look for another place for some excellent Kimchi Dol Sot. Anyone know? PLEASE MSG ME!

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have 5-​stars! I’m either not aware of the flaws because I’m not Korean or I’m not picky enough… nope, not the later, I’m so picky with food and this place always meets my expectations!
Just ordered the Bibimpa and it came packed with flavor, delicious veggies, meat, and an egg on top… plus a side of Doenjan Jjigae (Korean paste soup) that warmed my tummy and soul. My husband ordered the cold noodle soup and it was a great balance of acidity and sweetness with a touch of Asian Pear that crisply surprised your taste buds.
What I love is their panchan (complimentary side dishes) — you can tell they’re homemade and not store bought like some places, and it’s always something different. Today it was tofu, eggplant, soy sprouts, kimchi, and cucumber/​radish all in their own unique marinades.
There were just two employees, one that cooks and one that serves… and you feel like it’s your aunt serving you lunch; sweet and caring.
I love this place, don’t be distracted by the so-​far lower stars — check it out for yourself! Plus it’s quiet which I always appreciate when I eat and want good conversation with friends.

I came here for lunch very hungry and ordered their bulgogi (beef) and dengjang (soybean paste) stew. Big mistake. The bulgogi was overcooked, dry and rubbery over onions. After a few bites I couldn’t eat any more. The stew had some type of fishy base taste which I don’t like. Like the bulgogi, a few spoonfuls and I was done. What a waste of $. It’s no wonder I never come here.

I know 5 stars is a huge statement and I also realize that this is my first review ever so you might consider dismissing this review as a statistical outlier or a mistake…
But I genuinely believe this restaurant deserves the highest rating.
Garden Grove blvd has changed a lot over the past ten years and all of my favorite traditional Korean food restaurants are long gone. Everything else on this street tastes mediocre and restaurant owners don’t seem to take pride in flavor or ingredients anymore…
Mi Ho in my opinion is the last remaining great traditional Korean food restaurant.
The Dwe-​Ji Bossam is legit. It tastes homemade like how my grandmother use to make it.
I like the Kalbi Tang a lot because she gives you 4 – 5 huge pieces of meat in it. I have ordered Kalbi Tang at many other places and they either give you 3 huge pieces or just a bunch of small pieces. It’s so satisfying eating such big pieces.
If you like Dak Dori Tang (spicy chicken), its important to know that it takes them about 30 mins to make it. So call in advanced. It’s about medium spicy with a kick of sweet in it.
You must try the Boo Chu Jeon. This heavenly Korean pancake may look weird at first because it looks like its completely made vegetables and that someone forgot to fry it but that’s secret of its awesomeness. It is crispy and not an oily mess like in other places
The Pan Chan (side dishes) are always awesome as well. Not like other places where they taste ok and you eat a few bites. every time i come, the pan chan is always good.
I’ve eaten here so many times and its always been great. Now I’m not saying this place is a five restaurant, but what I am saying is this place has legit home style cooking that I think is hard to find sometimes.

boyfriend and i shared dol sot bi bim bap and korean leek pancake.
for the price you pay you don’t get very much and it didn’t taste all that great. it wasn’t bad, but it def. wasn’t good either.
side dishes: not seasoned well. probably the only good tasting one was the korean green pepper with soybean paste over it. honestly though, you can’t go wrong with that lol.
dol sot bi bim bap: the rice was wayyy too sticky so it was hard to mix the rice and veggies and they give you soo little! i felt like i was eating dduk with veggies. wasn’t great.
korean leek pancake: you know how whenever you order a korean style pancake it’s always too doughy and you wish they added more of whatever else instead. well this place does that, but not in a good way. yes, there was less pancake mix, but i felt like i was eating grass not a korean pancake. man, i wish i took a picture to show how ridiculous it looked. needless to say, i will never be ordering that again here.
matter of fact, i’m not sure if i’ll ever be returning here. there are wayy better tasting korean restaurants around the area.

Got the han-​bang sam gye tang aka medicinal herbs + chicken soup. Was pretty decent. There aren’t many seats so coming in big groups is def. not recommended. Parking is iffy too because most spaces have «_​_​_​_​_​only» written.
Food came out quick so I can’t sat anything about how non-​Korean customers are treated since I am a Korean. Overall pretty good legit food here.

A small restaurant in a very small strip mall. Luckily it was after the lunch rush so we found parking and seating fairly easily. Like another reviewer, I found this restaurant by accident. My fiancé and I were going to another noodle shop across the street but it was closed. I hate it when a restaurant closes on Sundays. I mean, yes, I understand you need time off, but Sunday? I know, I know, I am being selfish. ;-)
I was really set on getting some kalgooksu (handmade noodle). As I sat in the car searching on Unilocal on my iPad, Mi Ho popped up! I quickly glanced at the rating and reviews and drove here.
There was only 1 server and I think there were a couple of cooks in the kitchen, all of them female. Our server didn’t speak much of English. Although she was a bit reserved, she was nice. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I run into pretty rude servers in Korean restaurants when you’re not Korean or can not speak the language.
My fiancé ordered the Bibimbap
. The stone bowl was not very hot. The egg was fully cooked instead of ½ cooked (so he could mix it in). There were very few bits of beef. He tried to add a lot of chili paste but it still lacked the punch.
My Chicken Kalgooksu looked pale
, so did the taste. Although you could tell it was real chicken broth, it just didn’t have much flavor to it.

I may have accidentally came here, but I don’t think I would purposely come back. The food nor the people entice me.

My mom told me the sahm-​gye-​tang here was pretty good so a couple of us decided to get dinner here because my one friend has been dying to try it. It was her first time having it and she loved it. There’s about 3 different kinds of sahm-​gye-​tang. They range from $ 11.99 to $ 12.99. My other friend got the deul-​ggye-​soo-​jae-​bee. She liked it enough to say that she wanted to bring her mom next time. My other friend and I got the doh-​toh-​ree-​mook-​gook-​soo (acorn noodle) to share. It was good but it was too sour because they put way too much vinegar, but we didn’t send it back. The one thing I’ll definitely be coming back for is the boo-​choo-​jun (korean leek pancake. This place’s boo-​choo-​jun is legit. It’s the best jun I have ever had so far. I love that it’s made traditionally– mainly filled with leek instead of a lot of dough. When it’s hot and you dip it in the dipping sauce they give you, you just fall in love. They only give you one, but it’s a size of a big plate and it’s only $ 3.99! Their side dishes tasted fresh and very tasty and when I asked for refills, the waitress wasn’t bitter and actually gave us a lot more, which I loved.
I only gave it a 4 star because of the acorn noodle and the service towards the end was kind of slow even though we were the only customers.

Up front, I don’t come from a background with much Korean food experience. Someone who’s got more experience could probably rate them better than I. That being said, I thought it was very good. I had the Goong Joong BiBimBap (beef, rice, egg, veggies). It needed a little red sauce to get it flavored enough for me, but after that it was yummy. The appetizers including kimchi were also good. The price was very reasonable. When I get back into this area I’ll go here again.

It has now been about a month since they changed ownership and they are having grand opening meal deals for cold naengmyun noodles!
I’m gonna miss the old owners as they have been here for many years! Teu were getting old and it was time for them to retire! But apparently business hasn’t slowed down!
Their menu Looks about the same as the old with some new combo specials. I usually come here for the chicken handcut noodles… I can’t tell whether my tastes buds were having a bad day or if it was the food… it was super bland for some reason… like the broth wasn’t rich or flavorful in anyway… the noodles were obviously made differently too which I wasn’t used to… and the special soy-​sauce was just MEH… granted they had more side dishes… but if ur main dish is just whatevers then what’s the point?
I might have to come back again and try some other dishes as the kalgooksoo was a disappointment…
BUT the service was good… the server and cook were super nice…

been craving chicken kalgooksu… korean…chicken with homemade noodles for-​ever! after jogging around mile square park with my mom we were looking for a place to grab lunch. and i brought up how ive been CRAVING kalgooksu. and not the kalgooksu like hangari but the real homemade sort… and so my mom brought up this place which has been around forever and is just down the street from my house but i havent been too… in fact! we had fish soup at the restuarant next door just yesterday for dinner!
we pulled in and no one was there but sooon after it started getting filled up. my mom got the anchovie noodles & i got the chicken noodle. first we got some warm barley tea. then the side dishes showed up… kimchi, radish kimchi, bean sprout & cabbage with bean paste… not to long after biggg massive bowls of kalgooksu were placed in front of us! omgg it looked AMAZING
the lady brought us some of the soysauce/​redpepper/​seasoning to scoop into our soups and we dug in! the round metal chopsticks are slightly annoying because the noodles just slip right off but it didnt faze me since i was hungry… i was determined to make it work
after we filled ourselves to the brim with yummy soup & noodles the lady brought us some napkins & tangerines for «dessert» then i went up & paid $ 16 for our meal! love it. hope to come back to try the soojibee =D

My friend and i were accidentally came across this restaurant after the restaurant we were originally intending on going to was closed for some reason. man am i glad we ended up here though.
so apparently this restaurant has been around since 1984 (that’s wat it says on the placemats) and it is just one of those really homey korean places to eat. when we went in, we were greeted by a very soft spoken but polite women. she was one of those really nice and polite older korean women who serves as your waitress. right away, that just gave me the really homey korean feel for the place.
in terms of the food here, the first thing i have to say is that the portions are VERY generous here. my friend ordered the da moo jee tang, which is this spicy soup with beansprouts, various vegetables, and a little bit of beef. i got the soo jae bee, which is basically this soup with like these little dumplings that just dont have the filling. that’s the best way i could describe the dish. man they gave us so much food though. usually when i get soo jae bee at restaurants, its like just enough food. here, i could barely even finish it. and all both of our dishes were only 8 dollars each. u def. get your moneys worth. and on top of that, the food is delicious. the soup bases for both was just off the hook. u have to kind of know krn food to really appreciate these two dishes.
along with that, at all krn restaurants, they always give u these appetizers called banchan. their kimchi here is so good. goes along so well with the soo jae bee.
so overall, i would definitely recommend u try this place. its not that hard to find either. but def. it’s a gold mine :-) man i wish i knew about this place when i use to work down here at garden grove. would have come here for lunch so often :-D

Great homey Korean food. My parents are so enamored with this place, they come here at least once a week and always order the Samgyetang listed as the first item on the menu which is chicken stuffed with sweet rice in a herbal soup.
The soup is delicious and does not taste medicinal at all and the cornish game hen is so tender, it falls off the bone. I like the sam geop sal with kimchi. It’s sliced pork belly sauteed with kimchee. Goes really well with a bowl of rice.
The service is friendly and attentive.

This place is one of my mom’s favorite restaurants (and she’s very picky about her food) so we decided to stop by to get a fix of some good ol’ Korean food.
All of their banchan (side dishes) tasted really good, especially the kimchee and the kkakduggi (spicy radish).
But wow, they make some mean dwenjang jjigae (bean paste stew). I haven’t had stew that tasted THAT good in awhile. It was thick, bursting with favor, and every bite of rice and the jjigae was sooo good. My mom ordered the gookbap (which is her favorite), and my brother ordered the dolsot bibimbap (hot stone mixed rice & vegetables). He said that this place made the best dolsot bibimbap, and that’s what he usually orders at every Korean restaurant.
I had no idea they were known for their kalgooksu (noodles). Maybe I’ll try that or the kimchee jjigae (Kimchee stew) next time. :)
So ladies and gents, this place is THAT good. I think I found a favorite Korean restaurant in Garden Grove. :)

Mi Ho Restaurant specializes in Korean noodle dishes and a few other things. The reason I come here is for the dak kal gook soo which is a Korean wide noodle dish with chicken. This dish goes very well with the kkak tu ki (a different type kimchi) banchan they serve.
Other things they offer on their menu is different versions of the kal gook soo in other flavors, bibim bap, chung gook jang, and various other Korean dishes. This is a pretty simple restaurant and is also quite small so they do a lot of take out. They have a few tables and is located in the corner of Garden Grove Blvd. and Galway.
