Waiting time is too long, even no kids there… My and I have been waiting for 40mins. Thought it should be faster than ER. NO!!!

I brought my son here a couple months ago because he was having troubles breathing, and after first visiting patient first. They sent me here. Apparently they have breathing equipment for small people. Anyways, it was later in the evening on a week night when I came. I felt like I was in the waiting room for a really long time… But I figured, at least they have toys and such to keep my child entertained. So when we finally got back into our room, the nurse came in. He was a male. And he was definitely«skilled» in his profession, but I don’t think he was very good with kids or empathetic to myself as a worried parent… Because my child was screaming as they tried to keep the mask on him for 10 minutes. Torture, right?! Well I knew it was necessary so I tried not to be too bothered by it… Luckily, the nurse that came in to check on us after was very kind and brought my little guy juice and some crackers. They made us wait there for 30 minutes to see how he reacted to the medicine they gave him, and let us watch TV and my son fell asleep. Overall, I would probably bring my son here again. Definitely a good choice after regular business hours when the doc is out.

I took my daughter to KIdMed in December, 2012. We had to wait around 3 hours to be seen. I did not mind as they were very busy. I went to KidMed because I wanted my daughter to be seen by a pediatrician. Once we were finally seen, the person who saw us was a nurse practitioner. She did a strep test and a flu test. Ten minutes later she came back in and said both the tests were negative and that my daughter looked«fine» to her. I reiterated that, as her mother, I felt my daughter was very ill and the nurse practitioner told me that there was nothing they could treat my daughter for. So I asked to see the pediatrician. Another long wait ensued. My daughter fell asleep on the examination table. Almost 6 hours later, she was diagnosed with mono and we left. If you have another option other than KidMed, use it.

My daughter injured her foot yesterday after falling at an event. The ankle was the size of a softball and purple. KidMed was recommended to me by another parent at the event. So, we went over there to have her looked at. My daughter couldn’t walk and needed a wheelchair. I asked if they had a wheelchair available and was told no. They only had one and it was in use. Despite this, check-in was quick and easy. They even made sure she had a wheelchair when she was taken back to her room. The examination rooms are comfortable. Although, it had a weird smell when we walked in. They have TV’s and my daughter was able to pick a show she wanted to watch while we waited. Our nurse, Jerry, was very kind. Although we only saw him when he did triage and then again when he brought her ibuprofen. The nurse practitioner walked in and looked at my daughters foot and poked her in the belly. She ordered x-rays. The radiology tech was very kind and helpful. Then, the NP came back with the results, when she walked in we were greeted by «The news is… your feet stink… I could smell them when I walked in.» WTH? My daughter was injured and scared. You, a medical professional, who works with children… think it is appropriate to come into a room and insult my daughter!?! The room smelled like that when we came in it. It was not my kid’s feet that stunk! Luckily, it turned out my daughter hadn’t broken anything. Her ankle was bruised and sprained. She was fitted with a gel cast and crutches by a sweet, sweet lady. and then we were able to go. Overall, my experience shows… 1. They need more than 1 wheelchair. 2. They have a nice front office staff! 3. The nurses and medical support staff are wonderful! 4. The NP needs to take a class on bedside manner and never insult another child. I don’t know if I will go back, but if I do… they can thank my returned business on the treatment my daughter and I received from everyone else BUT the nurse practitioner!
