Waffle House

Food was Great, however everything else went south. It is Dirty everywhere, table, seats, menus, floors, windows, bathroom everything but the prep station which is why we decided to go ahead a stay, that and nothing else is open late for food here on the road and we had no choice. Hard to understand how with so many people working and so few customers it can be so nasty! The answer is lazyness, the service never refilled our drinks and had inappropriate conversations the entire time ranging from always having register shortages to nights out on the town.

I would rather eat at this Waffle House than any other local Waffle House for the fact that the staff do not ignore you when you enter. Once we sit, we are usually waited on right away. Just recently we ate there, and we say at the bar. I enjoy eating at the bar because I can watch the food being prepared closely.

Came here for lunch yesterday while on my way to North Carolina for the weekend. I don’t expect five star treatment at a Waffle House, since it is a diner, but this place was terrible. The table and menus were dirty and sticky. I don’t think anyone cleaned the table before we sat down. The server was a bit curt with my girlfriend and I, but nice to the people at the table behind us. We’re not demanding people at all so this I didn’t understand. She didn’t even bring our drinks. Another server noticed we had been waiting a while for drinks and took our drink order a second time. Right now, instead of enjoying our weekend, we’re at an urgent care facility in Raleigh, NC because my girlfriend has had stomach pains ever since eating the chicken sandwich she got at this Waffle House. She almost never has stomach problems and eats very healthy so I can’t think of anything else that could have made her ill. Our guess is that the chicken wasn’t cooked properly, since you have to be very careful handling chicken. I have been to many different Waffle House locations and never had any problems, until now. My girlfriend says she will never have Waffle House again.

What it is– quick breakfast great service in and out cheap. What it’s not– white linen brunch so don’t rate it like you’re surprised. Geeze. Good value

I don’t know why my rating didn’t show up the first time but writing it again. I was just here and waited for 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me. Once they did, they fought over who was responsible for taking my order. My waitress got my drink order, never once saying hello or anything and the dirty table I was at was never wiped down. There was no menu at my table but the waitress came over asked «What you want?» while looking out the window. I told her I needed to see a menu. She huffed and puffed, got a menu and then walked away. Finally she came back and took my order but was angry for some reason. She was very attentive when black women came in (I’m a white woman) so I don’t know. Waitress’s name was Alissa.

It was pretty cheap, good food. Friendly service. Only downside was it was loud and tables weren’t clean. The tables had weird cut outs to the kitchen area. But overall pretty good place.

I go to this waffle house a lot but when i went there on 10−20−13 i started to eat and when i looked down on my plate there was a hair the server had them make me a new breakfast so this part i was happy with… on my way out i spoke to the manager and suggested that maybe they should wear hair nets. He was like ya ok his attitude was rally bad and i was not to thrilled with him. That’s ok .I just wont go to this one again and will get in touch with the GM

I visited the waffle house @ 8400 brook rd last night, and the staff was throwing food that was left over from customer plates (mine specifically), taking drinks in and out of the bathroom, not washing hands… awful experience. I think the cook «Oliver» may have been under the influence… Food was burnt first time and the after asking them to re-​cook it, it was partially burned the second. Eggs had egg shells in them, cook was swearing away in front of my two year old. Then they chased me down to pay my mothers bill AFTER we told them the check was together. I’ll never go the again, no wonder the chain is dying. Denny’s from here out!

So I read my previous review and was like, «What??? Not knock-​your-​socks-​off?!?» I disagree with my past self; Waffle House is soooo tasty. I finally tried a waffle at the WH, the pecan waffle, and Oh MY it was so good. The butter they give you is all melty and just spreading that on the pecan waffle was good as is. I ate half my waffle like that and then drizzled it with some syrup.
Of course, I gotta get hashbrowns on the side. Onions, tomatoes & mushrooms are my jam, and I don’t even care that Ryan C. says the mushrooms are canned and therefore disgusting. They taste fine to me, even though the star, rightfully so, is the crunchy-​soft, salty shreds of potato. As my headline says, Yum!

If there was a Heaven, they’d have a Waffle House at every corner. I’ve only had their breakfast but that is enough to warrant the 5 star rating. Friendly enough staff, fairly clean and always leave full without breaking my piggy bank. Listen, get your ass in here. It’s totally worth it.

The Waffle House used to sit far down on my list of places to have a hang over breakfast due to the fact that regulars sat and smoked and it was just a gross atmosphere to eat in. Just a few chain smokers can ruin a small spot like a Waffle House. My how times have changed. They even have a hostess on weekends! Service is quick and efficient and there is only a wait on weekends. I went this morning around 11am and had the place to myself. I always get the Cheese N Eggs with raisin toast and apple butter and I like my hash browns with onions only.
I have friends who live for hash browns with everything but the kitchen sink thrown into them but I guess I don’t really understand it… kind of like french fries with cheese and gravy on them… not my style. The waffles are always crisp and delicious as well. I recommend the Waffle House if you are in a hurry and one is close to you. I think a lot of the clients for many of the Waffle Houses in Richmond come off the highways. I am not ashamed to say that I like it.
