Rating des Ortes: 4 Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles, CA
Believe it or not, I’m a Payless guy. I buy all my shoes from Payless from work boots to walking shoes to dress shoes. I usually only buy shoes from this particular location because this place, for whatever reason, has the most well-stocked inventory of shoes of all the Payless stores I’ve been to in the Los Angeles area. Every time I come, there’s always the work boots that I need at the right size and there’s always that pair of sneakers I always buy because they are so damn comfy. I don’t really care about brand name shoes or about looking stylish with those brand name shoes. All I’m looking for in a pair of shoes is comfort, value, and relative durability. Since I know that shoes are going to get torn down the line anyway, I’m ok with replacing them every year or so. So far, I’ve only replaced my work boots once in two years. By then, the tears become obvious but before then, it was holding up surprisingly well. Same for the sneakers and same for the dress shoes. I haven’t been disappointed by this Payless shoes yet. Sure, those Nike shoes will last you three to four years but they’ll cost you an arm and a leg. Whereas Payless, you’ll only lose $ 25 dollars or less if you ever catch their sales and that’s pennies for shoes. But of course, they won’t last very long. I’m not terribly concerned about whether they last since all things break down anyway over time with wear and tear. That’s just the nature of matter. So for me, I’m ok with trading durability for value and comfort. I definitely recommend this store for their well-stocked inventory of value and comfortable shoes.
