This is a no-frills type of place. Like it says in the title, a café. If you are a fussy or critical person, maybe this isn’t for you. If you’re a person who appreciates all styles and levels and want a ton of food for a few bucks, then this is definitely for you! The staff here were also very nice. Hidden little gem, I’d call this. A local type of place, too. I dig it!

Evidently the business has been sold. Says Hometown out front but the menus says Ruby’s Kitchen. Coffee was plentiful but food was not. Food was Untasteful biscuits were canned. Not impressed and will not return.

Welcoming atmosphere with kind waitresses who treated us and our children very well. Family friendly prices and generous portions. My coffee cup was never empty, which is one of my key measures for any breakfast spot. The only downside was the lengthy wait time to get our food. If you’re not in a hurry, this is a charming spot to get a great breakfast.

My friend and I came here for breakfast on Sunday and seeing the reviews were good, we wanted to try it. I ordered ham and eggs and an hour later, our food didn’t come, so we asked about our food – come to find out, they haven’t started on it, so we left after waiting for an HOUR for simple ham and eggs.

Went here on the home from the weekend. Great place and awesome food. Reminds me of what grandma used to make. Service was excellent with great southern hospitality. Very reasonable.

Don’t waste your time on this place. Typical diner breakfast but it took 1 hour to get our food after ordering. Ham and cheese omelette was average and gravy for the biscuits did not have much flavor. The large chain restaurant would have been a better choice.

Very. Good coffee and breakfast. Lunch menu I have yet to try but I will be back very soon. Low prices and home cooking.

In visiting some family members in Nashville, I wanted to hit locally owned establishments. I enjoyed this place. I had eggs and toast with pancakes. The pancakes stood out. Crispy on the edges and hot and fluffy on the inside, just how I liked them. I was expecting homemade biscuits, but they seemed like the type of biscuits I could get anywhere. The service is solid. Really nice ladies with sweet southern accents. The crowd was a little older and very much local. As an out-of-towner, I liked that hometown feeling.

If you are looking for a dive that had a great breakfast(served all day on the weekends 7am-3pm) for cheap($ 5 – 8) and HUGE portions, this is the spot. And, the pancakes are AMAZING!

Delicious, homey, generous portions. My wife and I had brunch there last Sunday and joked that we’d be hungry again on Wednesday. Hometown Café is «can’t miss» if you’re in north Nashville.

Great breakfast. Definitely worth the stop. The parking is weird and small, but the food is worth it. The café itself is small, but the waitresses are quick at getting tables cleaned off. The wait for the food was a little longer than I’m used to for breakfast, but the place was packed and serving both breakfast and lunch. The bacon and country sausage were amazing. The biscuits and gravy are a fantastic side to get in place of toast.

Authentic. Friendly and the best value for brunch/breakfast ever. I just wish the had fresh fruit and local jams and honey to go with the biscuits.

This place is the best for breakfast. Everything is fresh and made to order. It’s just a hole in the wall place but it’s a little gem. The staff is really nice and the food is off the hook. I love their coffee, too. And the best thing is the price is right.

Very good food. Our first time here was for brunch. They are one of my favorites now. If they used real maple syrup and didn’t over cook my hashbrowns I would give five stars no doubt. I want to try the omlete next time and definitely getting the home fries! They are a lot better than Red Rooster’s. The service is friendly too and very affordable for the quality and amount of food you receive.

Great find. Real comfort food and sweet waitresses. My daughter loved the corn nuggets and my catfish was tasty. My son had the hamburger and thought it was one of the best he’d had. Real family feel to the place.
