I hate to post bad reviews but this one needs to be out there. So I emailed A Sweet Design for quote on a birthday cake, and cupcakes they never called me or emailed me back. I left them a couple of voicemails and never heard back. I don’t know if the shop is closed but if they continue to do business this way they will be.
You will no longer get any of my business

Amazing all around! A sweet design made the cake for our wedding January 16 and we couldn’t be more happier. I had an idea of what I wanted and they over exceeded my expectations. Everyone was raving about the taste and design of the cake… I loved it and i recommend this place.

This place never disappoints!!! Joeleen is such an awesome person and she has such great customer service! I have never gone anywhere to get my cakes and cupcakes since I found this place 3 years ago. Always will be a loyal customer!

We worked with Sweet Design through our party venue and I have to say that I was very impressed with the cake quality. My family are not big cake eaters but we loved this cake! The owner went out of her way to accommodate our special requests and far exceeded our expectations in design and flavor. The mothers at our school are still talking about that cake! Loved it! H

Well, let me start by saying this is not the best cupcake I’ve ever had. But, I have had exactly 1 cupcake from here– the lemon cupcake. Don’t get me wrong, it was good and good for the price. It just wasn’t my favorite and want good enough to have me go back and try it a second time. They get the 4 stars for the price (large cupcake, shareable between two people, decent flavor but dry and not very lemony) and for the service. I’m sure their custom orders are just as pretty with just as good service as I had today. But, again, not the best I’ve ever had.

Amazing cupcakes and desserts! Great unique recipes and dessert compilations. This is such a great place to go to fix a sweet craving or a sweet snack. Such a darling place with adorable desserts.

Had them create a cake for my one year olds big day and everyone loved it and most recently for my beloved Marine Corps birthday, all the Marines loved it and devoured it. They will forever be my go to place for all my sweets.

The cookies and cream cupcakes are the best I’ve ever had! And I used to work at a bakery so that’s a huge compliment. The shop is super cute, everyone is very friendly, and everything made is from scratch. No box mixes! They are always busy with custom orders and walk ins and it’s obvious why. They are awesome!

Stoppe in to grab treats to take to a Holiday Party and was welcomed by friendly employees who were very helpful. Have purchased in the past for my own family so was very grateful when I heard compliment s about the freshness. Great Spot.

A SWEET DESIGN has the Best Cup-​Cakes I Have Ever Tasted. I was never a fan of a cupcake until I had one here. Pretty, Tasty Cupcakes! :)

They made our cake for my wedding yesterday and it was beyond beautiful! The cake was delicious and we got compliments all night from our guests. Service was excellent.

A Sweet Design made and decorated the cake for our July 18 wedding reception, and we were nothing but impressed. When we met with the lady for cake sampling several months ago, we left with a very good feeling about this business. The cakes were so good, she was friendly and helpful, and she took the time to answer our questions without making us feel rushed.
We had a four-​tiered cake (each tier a different flavor), and we heard nothing but good from our guests. So many people told us how delicious the cake was, and the design of the cake was exactly as we had planned. We’ve been told that we’ll be getting a small cake on our one-​year anniversary, and we’re so excited to get to enjoy this delicious cake again!
We absolutely recommend A Sweet Design!
Side note… When we were leaving the store on the day of our cake sampling, my husband bought one of their oatmeal cookies. He swears that it is the best cookie he’s ever eaten!!!

I have used A Sweet Design for my cake/​cupcake needs three times in the past six months… my wedding (cake and groom’s cake), my Mom’s 80^th birthday and my daughter’s graduation. All three times I received outstanding customer service from Joeleen. She is so patient, friendly and very creative! Her work has received many compliments from my guests. I’m a total cake snob and I’ve been very happy with all of the cakes I’ve ordered, which is rare!
I will continue to use A Sweet Design for my cakes not only because they look great but also because they taste great! I’ve had oreo cake, chocolate chip cake w/​fudge, pink velvet w/​strawberry filling, red velvet (my fave), lemon, carrot cake and a marble cake with jack daniels caramel chocolate buttercream (groom’s cake)…all of them were very tasty! A Sweet Design is now my go to bakery when I have a need for a special cake and, believe me, that’s often :)

I had my baby 1^st birthday cake made here.
It was toy story themed! They really made an amazing job.
Everyone kept complimenting how amazing it looked, and how delicious it tasted!!!
We got pink velvet, which looked amazing when it was cut!
I was so happy about the costumer services. I ordered this cake in a matter of like four emails. It was fast, friendly, and easy!
We paid a few bucks extra to get it delivered! It was on time and made my dessert table complete.
I will defiantly be ordering more cakes from here and maybe even stopping by if I have a sweet tooth.

The place seems to be known for their specialty cakes– wedding, bday, etc.
I got four cupcakes. It’s a little over $ 10 since some cost more than others. The neopolitan cupcake was okay. It has chocolate (think forest choc), vanilla, and red velvet cakes topped with strawberry frosting. I wouldn’t get this one again.
I also had the Oreo cupcake which is one of their more popular flavors (according to the helpful sales girl). It was better but I got surprised by the chocolate inside. Mmm would have preferred it without that little filling.
The vanilla cupcake is good, not overly sweet — it’s my favorite of the 3 I ate. It also has a whipped cream surprise in the middle. :/​. Sokay.
The last cupcake I got is the JoJo which reminds me of a ding-​dong. There might be some kids born in the 90s that don’t know what these are — they’re basically chocolate cake with a creamy filling. I’m a weirdo that never liked ding– dongs. My bf picked this out and hasn’t eaten it yet… Which astounds me! Ah well. I still don’t eat ding dongs.

Stopped in today for cupcakes as I had this place bookmarked and recommended by a friend.
Please plan ahead that you do have to park on the street but you may get lucky and find a spot right in front.
They had a variety of cupcake flavors to choose from. Cupcake prices range from $ 3.00-$ 3.75. I purchased 9 cupcakes for $ 29 — which is the going rate.
With having a family of 5 everyone has different taste so having a variety of cupcake choices was perfect. Once I got home and tasted the cupcakes I was happy… they are moist and delicious.
Guys can even pick up a 4 pack of cupcakes for their lady to pair along with their flowers as a gift (hint hint).
Also, if you check in with Unilocal you get a free cookie.
It appears as if they also make specialty cakes (wedding, birthday parties etc) but my review is solely based on my cupcake experience.

Do you want your taste buds to jump around and dance a little bit, then go to heaven. If so than you need to come to this place. The cupcakes are heavenly and delicious!
The cupcakes here are very different than sprinkles or other cupcakes places that I have tried before. They taste very original and tailored to each individual flavored cupcake.
This place is a small little bakery located on Chatsworth St, on a corner in Granada Hills. if your not careful you might miss it. The first time I actually tried a bunch of these cupcakes was a few weeks ago at a birthday party. I was able to taste several of the cupcakes because we shared 4 different flavors, so we all got a chance to taste one of each.
Today I got two different cupcakes, a s’mores and a Rocky Road one. The Rocky Road cupcake was my favorite but to be fair I am a marshmallow freak.
I also got a free cookie for checking in and purchased a Oreo cake pop. The chocolate chip cookie tasted just average to me, but it was their last one so other people must love them.
The cake pop was just okay. However I am very picky when it comes to cake pops. I usually only like homemade ones, and I have not gone to any store yet that makes ones to my liking.
However after eating both of their cupcakes this week I will definitely be coming back for more. I recommend the Rocky Road, the S’mores and the Hazelnut cupcake. The store had great customer service too!

After the disaster with Susiecakes for my wedding cake and cupcakes, I was definitely on edge when it came to looking for another bakery. My mom had heard about this bakery in her area and we decided to check it out. I am SO happy that we did!
I will say that initially working with our rep Joy was not the easiest. I had a specific design in mind and she kind of resisted against my thoughts and our tasting was kind of awkward because we weren’t given a clear cut explanation of the ordering process. But she was patient with us and calm and together we came up with a great design for the cupcakes and cake. Even better, was that they had a nice cupcake stand that we rented and we could buy whatever ribbon we wanted on it – and they would place it with no additional charge. The cupcakes and cake were actually more affordable than we thought and definitely more affordable with more customization and design options than anywhere else (including Sprinkles and Vanilla Bake Shop which we were also looking at).
The cupcakes are so unique and flavorful! Everyone loved the cupcakes on the day of and we loved our cute cake on top. People were raving about their banana cupcake. My personal favorite is smores and pink velvet. Their delivery fees weren’t ridiculous and they were on time. Our caterer set up the cupcakes but they also can set up for you too for an additional charge. I can’t wait for our free one year anniversary cake!
