I love the Java Moose! They make my latte perfectly and the view is amazing! The staff is always friendly too! They also have a second location down by the harbor in the summer which is very convenient.

I can’t give this place five stars because their parking situation stinks. Still, not the problem of the wonderfully friendly staff working there. They have a latte called«White Christmas». It’s simply to die for. Cute, cabin-y and the best coffee shop in Grand Marias. They also have ice cream and pastries. I like the Java Moose. I’ll be back!

We stopped in for a tasty treat after spending some time canoeing/camping for a few days. We were not disappointed. We had a scoop of chocolate peanut butter and the campfire smore variety. They had some other great flavors that looked just as yummy. We didn’t enjoy any of their coffee, but it looked like a busy place with a lot of regulars. I’m sure it’s a great find for some of the espresso variety drinks.

Great little coffee shop right on the harbor. I had a waffle cone with Kemps ice cream and my friend had an Italian soda that was handmade at the time of ordering. Both were very good and I am ordering coffee or my own Italian soda next time it was so good!

Grand Marais, MN. — a beautiful spot on our planet. But, even in late June can be a little chilly. It’s Northern Minnesota, right? To take the edge off, how about a coffee? A great coffee from my «home away from home» for the week — Java Moose. A beautiful coffee shop with a dramatic view of Lake Gitche Gumee. Every time I visited(sometimes twice a day) the team was friendly and looked past the fact that I was obviously not from around there. So, for great coffee and delicious treats, I would recommend Java Moose.

The best caramel latte I’ve had in a long time. They also sell oatmeal and breakfast sammie’s, except when we were there. Not sure why. Free, much needed WIFI, ample seating. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

Great place to grab some Joe and a sammich, as well as catching the scuttlebutt from the locals for those heading into the hinterlands to camp. As homey a coffee place as you can get, thanks to the local who praised my method of canoe-on-car rigging.

Still my favorite place to go in Grand Marais. It’s a gem of a place to sit and write. The coffee is the best on the north shore and the chili is so yummy you better get it fast before they run out. A must stop if you are way up north as even a passer by.

This is a totally cute little coffee shop with a really great name! The staff who greeted us were friendly and courteous and filled our order right away. There is a nice side room that is great for folks who come with computers or other devices, and there’s free Wi-fi. Unlike many coffee shops, there are a TON of outlets to plug into, so another bonus. My one complaint is that it was really warm inside, and if it were really crowded, I think it would be quite uncomfortable. But as it was, in the middle of an afternoon with a medium size crowd, it was OK. Oh, and the coffee was excellent!

I’m not sure what happened with my latte. I was driving south through Grand Marais, and stopped to get something to drink on the way. I added a bit of sugar and cinnamon myself. I did notice the foam layer seemed very thin, but didn’t taste it or anything until I was a few miles down the road. It was essentially flavorless. I mean, it basically tasted like watery cinnamon, with no discernible espresso flavor. I ended up throwing nearly the whole thing away the next time I stopped.

I love Java Moose. The employees are very sweet and actually know what they are doing. My lattes were always made well(Coulda used a titch more froth) and the espresso was pulled correctly. Very good! They have a number of syrups in both regular and sugar free. Their baked goods rock, too. Not to mention… they have Thunder Cookies. I love them, even if they’ve gotten freakin’ small the last few years. I’d pay $ 175 for one – not just $ 1.75! The man says the coffee was very good too. So, go to the Moose, get a delicious latte or cup of joe, sit on the deck or on the beach and watch the waves roll in! Perfection!

Apparently, this is the place to be in Grand Marais, pretty much any day of the week! We stopped in for some coffee after lunch on our way to see the sights. The place was packed to the gills, with many people waiting to get a seat. Prices were right, service was friendly, and the coffee was great! Should I find myself in the Grand Marais area again, I’ll be sure to stop back in. :)

I’ve been to Java Moose a couple times during our week-long vacation in Grand Marais and I may go back a few more times. The coffee is really good, the view is AMAZING, and the place just feels very comfortable and friendly. There is a little seating area indoors and also a deck on the front of the building where people can sit and sip coffee as they look out at Lake Superior. I did see one guy with a laptop but I didn’t ask him if they had free wi-fi.

This is where we fuel up on caffeine in Grand Marais. We usually head up there in the dead of winter and this place always seems warm and cozy. Good lattes and hot chocolate. Large selection of sugar free syrups which always makes me happy. They serve Alakef Coffee which is roasted in Duluth and one of my favorites. Nice staff, and they put a cute little moose shaped swirl on the cocoa! Sweet touch.

Note that Java Moose has two locations. They have a year round location on the main stretch and an extra summer location. The summer location is right on the beach. I’ve never had a better morning coffee experience, EVER. You buy your favorite cup of coffee and then they have picnic tables and adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy for as long as you like with the view of Lake Superior. We had excellent weather on our stay in Grand Marais, and we started each morning out like this. So peaceful and relaxing, life doesn’t get much better!
