Romas Italian Bistro

This review is based on 1 take out order. I’ve only been here once and ordered a pizza on take out. Pizza was fresh and delicious. Meat lovers, no sausage, add black olives and pineapples.

Considering that we were the only customers, it sure did take long for the waitress to take our order. On the upside our food was ok.
The restaurant’s moto is «Nothing fancy just good Italian food.»… nothing fancy is right when they told me the cheesecake was still frozen and needed more time to thaw. So if you like slow service and mediocre food this is the place for you or if you want to see what it feels like to have a slow and painful death then come on down to this restaurant.

We ordered delivery but while the food was pretty good, I ordered the «LOBSTER» ravioli but there was nothing resembling or tasting like lobster in the dish. It was imitation crab! Although «Imitation Crab Ravioli» doesn’t have the same ring as lobster ravioli but at least it would be honest. This is false advertisement plain and simple!

First there was a dead mosquito in my menu… I was really looking forward to eating at a local Italian joint close to home and because it had received great reviews… I was very disappointed… the food came out within 10 mins. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and it was under cooked and no flavor. My husband ordered the linguine and white clam sauce and it was so watery and looked straight from the can… This place is no where near authentic if anything it reminds me of one of the restaurants that Chef Ramsey comes and helps…

We both had just had long shifts at work and are not interested at all in cooking– and are extremely sick of fast food. We pass by Roma’s daily and decided to place a to go order so that we could have dinner without actually having to go out.
What a great decision!
I had the chicken alfredo and he had a pepperoni calzone. They were both devoured within 15 minutes! Worth every penny (even though prices are extremely cheap for the delicious food your about to enjoy). We can’t wait to continue coming back to try everything else on the menu!!!

The food here is exceptional. Especially for Grand Praire. There are few nice dining options but this is one of them. I highly recommend this place.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Had some incredibly tasty tortellini and shrimp in a creamy tomato sauce. Bread was excellent. Atmosphere was pleasant. Would absolutely eat here again.
Taking off one star because service was very slow. Hoping it was just because things were made fresh, but even with a minimally full dining room it was eternity to get our food. Not enough of an issue to keep me away.
I wrote a review earlier for Romas in Lancaster that was very unfavorable. Turns out that one was started by the same folks who own this one, but has since been sold — which explains the vast differences in their quality.

One of my family’s favorite places for quick Italian food in Grand Prairie! My husband and I love to sit, chat and have a bottle of wine.

My girls love it! Fast delivery awesome food! I just wanted say they are nice and quick!

Walked in and it had a strange smell. Like a teenage boys locker room. Should have left when we got our drinks. Asked for sweet tea and received lemon water. Tastes like lipton fountain drink. Not what is expected in Texas. Got the bread. Greasy with a garlic parmesan topping. Take that away and the bread lacked flavor. Ordered stuffed mushrooms. They were good. Ordered fried mozzarella. Greasy, but edible with the sauce. Ordered the pasta combo and it was a size of an appetizer. Not much to a conventional combo dish. Ordered the chef’s special. Chicken was dry and chewy and was saved by the sauce. Which was a little salty, but ok. Prime location. Friendly wait staff. Sub-​par food. Average price. Lots of potential. Need help in the kitchen.

Went here for lunch on a weekday. The whole place smelled like a bathroom. I asked for unsweetened iced tea, and got lemon water with a hint of tea. Asked for just plain water instead, and the waitress never brought it. I see people saying there was bread? We certainly didn’t get any.
I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs because I figured it would be impossible to mess up. Boy, did they prove me wrong! The noodles were disgustingly soggy, completely over-​cooked. Meatballs were tough and dry.
I wasn’t drinking, but I did notice that their «bar» is tiny, with a very limited selection. I’m guessing that servers have to make drinks if you do order them, and I can’t imagine they’re all trained bartenders, so good luck ordering anything more complex than a whiskey and coke.

Service is great! Im not the biggest fan of Italian food but i would say overall a neat little hangout, got the stromboli and it wasn’t half bad

When we walked in my boyfriend said it smelled funky but I didn’t smell anything so we decided to stay… mistake. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms because of the raving reviews on Unilocal.They were good, but definitely had imitation crab meat instead of real, so not something to write home about. After 45 minutes of waiting for our entrée, not two just one entrée to split, the waitress came over and said «Y’all ordered the pasta combo right?» My response was «Yes, 45 minutes ago… Where is it?» Her not so kind response was «Well I forgot about it so I just entered it.» No apology, nothing to rectify the situation and completely disrespectful to us as customers. Neadless to say, we paid for our immatation crab stuffed mushrooms and left.

I ordered delivery today as my car is in the shop and was very impressed. The food was piping hot and delicious and was delivered 30 minutes after I placed my order. There aren’t many places in my opinion to eat quality food other than Mexican but I will be dining at Roma’s again. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, they don’t have an eggplant parmigiana sub on the menu but made it for me, and the mixed seafood entrée. It was all really good. I’m pretty picky about food and do not even eat at chains or fast food so I’m glad to see such a great place pop up so close to home. Their prices are more than fair. The sauce in both the mushrooms and the pasta was spot on. I’ll tell you– I was nervous what would be delivered to my door but was very much pleasantly surprised.

We dropped in on Valentines day evening and it was fairly full of customers.
Service was quick and friendly and they have a good standard menu of Italian favorites. DH had the fettuccini carbonara and I had the pasta trio (a test of a new Italian restaurant for me!). DH enjoyed the fettuccini and I really did like the pasta trio. The cannelloni in the trio was luscious and the filling was terrific. I looked down and it was sadly all gone.
I liked the bread they served before the meal, but would have liked some butter to go with it. It was nice and garlicky and complemented the dinner well. The salad (which you have to order separately) was good and full of peppers, tomatoes and other good stuff. DH’s house dressing was terrific, but my balsamic dressing had way too much olive oil and was missing that tangy balsamic flavor. Will order the house dressing next time.
DH wanted a cannoli so we ordered one even though I was pretty full. I don’t usually like cannoli because the filling is gritty to me, but this one was creamy smooth and really good. DH liked it except it came with a strawberry (or raspberry?) sauce over the top. Had we known, we would have left that off. I liked the sauce, though, and would order that crispy little dessert again!
We’ll be back. Glad for Grand Prairie to have a good restaurant downtown. Was puzzled why they built it right across from another similar Italian restaurant, but was pleased with the result.

This place is a great addition to the GP Main Street strip. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They bring out bread and butter when you sit down but I wish it was a little warmer and fresher. The stuffed mushrooms were FREAKING DELICIOUS!!! I ate up that bread I wasn’t too crazy about to sop up all of the sauce: P… I had the Chicken Marsala which was ok. The sauce was really good but the chicken wasn’t seasoned that well. My boyfriend had the pasta combo + chicken and it was very delicious. All 3 of the pastas were seasoned well and cooked perfectly and so was the chicken. I will definitely be back.

This is a new and much needed restaurant in Grand Prairie. The building adds a real boost to the renovated Main Street area. The food is terrific and the staff friendly and attentive. The dining room is open and airy and they even have a bar area. It is obvious that the owners put a lot of thought and time into the design of the place. I have a feeling they will be in this location for a long time and become a Grand Prairie staple.

Stuffed Mushrooms and the Specialty pizzas are to die for! If you like extra cheesy yummy pizzas then this is your place. They serve delicious bread and butter upon arrival that’s very fresh. Best Italian food in the area with a great atmosphere and bar with TV’s! I also get the chicken dishes with Artichoke hearts and mushrooms with a vodka wine sauce that’s scrumptious. Perfect place for a glass of wine with friends in Downtown Main Street or a romantic dinner with your honey!
